The Orillia Public Library is a single-branch public library in Orillia, Ontario, Canada.

Tudhope Building is a multi-use building with western wing home to Orillia City Council since 1997 while the eastern wing is used as condominiums and as a satellite location for Lakehead University. From 1909 to 1990s it was a manufacturing facility. The building is named for James Brockett Tudhope, who founded the Tudhope Motor Company and later served as reeve/mayor of Orillia.

Orillia Opera House is a historic building in the city of Orillia, Ontario, Canada. It has been listed as a historic property under the Ontario Heritage Act.

Orillia Transit is operated by TOK Transit under contract to the City of Orillia in central Ontario, Canada. TOK Transit provides drivers, maintains the vehicles and supplies fuel. Service is provided on six routes throughout the city every day except statutory holidays, and one weekday special industrial area service. All of these routes run on loops which depart and end at the downtown bus terminal on West Street and Mississaga Street.Orillia has had transit service since the 1950s when a private operator, Orillia Transportation Company, started to provide local bus service to the city. Responsibility for the service was assumed by the city in 1975 and in 1978 a specialized transit service for persons with disabilities was introduced.

Orillia Secondary School, was established in 2015, following the 2013 merger of Orillia District Collegiate & Vocational Institute and Park Street Collegiate Institute. The school has a population of about 1,115 students. The new school building was built between 2014 and 2016, and is equipped with a triple gymnasium, technology rooms, a library, and cafeteria. The principal is Brae Montgomery. After the 2012–2013 academic year, Orillia District Collegiate & Vocational Institute was merged with Park Street Collegiate Institute, which was demolished so that a new school could be built on its former site, at the intersection of Park Street and Collegiate Drive.

Orilla/Pumpkin Bay Water Aerodrome (TC LID: COP4) is located on Lake Couchiching adjacent to Orillia, Ontario, Canada.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is the provincial police service of Ontario, Canada. The OPP patrols provincial highways and waterways; protects provincial government buildings and officials, with the exception of the legislative precinct; patrols unincorporated areas in northern Ontario; provides training, operational support, and funding to some Indigenous police forces; and investigates complex or multijurisdictional crimes across the province. The OPP also has a number of local mandates through contracts with municipal governments and First Nations, where it acts as the local police force and provides front-line services.With an annual budget of nearly $1.4 billion, the OPP employed more than 5 800 uniformed officers, 600 auxiliary officers, and 2 600 civilian employees in 2023, making it the largest police service in Ontario and the second-largest in Canada (after the Royal Canadian Mounted Police). The OPP's operations are directed by its commissioner (Thomas Carrique) and it is a division of the Ministry of the Solicitor General.

Ontario Provincial Police Headquarters (Lincoln M. Alexander Building) is the main administration office for the Ontario Provincial Police. The building is located at 777 Memorial Avenue in Orillia, Ontario. It was completed in 1995 and is the first building constructed specifically to house the OPP headquarters.

The Huronia Regional Centre (previously the Ontario Hospital School, Orillia, and initially the Orillia Asylum for Idiots) was an institution for developmentally disabled people operated by the government of Ontario, Canada between 1876 and 2009. After the closing of the school, and prompted by a class-action lawsuit, the government apologized for decades of neglectful abuse of the facility's residents and paid a settlement to surviving victims.The Ontario Hospital School, Orillia served Central Ontario, including the Counties of Halton, Peel, York, Ontario, Simcoe and the Districts of Muskoka and Parry Sound.: 35 

Mariposa Folk Festival is a Canadian music festival founded in 1961 in Orillia, Ontario. It was held in Orillia for three years before being banned because of disturbances by festival-goers. After being held in various places in Ontario for a few decades, it returned to Orillia in 2000. Ruth Jones, her husband Dr. Crawford Jones, brother David Major and Pete McGarvey organized the first Mariposa Folk Festival in August 1961. The inaugural event, covered by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, featured all Canadian performers. The festival grew in popularity, size and rowdiness until the popularity of the 1963 festival (with over 8,000 advance tickets sold), and the lack of sufficient security, led to a backlash from town locals. The city of Orillia secured a court injunction to prevent the festival from continuing in the town limits. The first festival held in the Toronto area, in 1964, was at Maple Leaf Stadium. The subsequent three festivals were held at Innis Lake in Caledon, northwest of the city. In the 1970s it was held on the Toronto Islands before shifting to Harbourfront (Toronto) and Bathurst Street and later Molson Park in Barrie. In 2000, the Mariposa Folk Festival was invited back to Orillia by city councilors Tim Lauer and Don Evans. The festival continues to be held in Orillia. As well as folk music, the festival highlights other aspects of folk culture including dance, crafts, storytelling.

The Dougall Canal is a canal in Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. It was named in 2015 for Bruce Dougall, who undertook its construction during the 1960s. It is located in Orillia on Couchiching Point, a piece of land that separates Lake Couchiching from Lake Simcoe. The development of Couchiching Point was originally going to be a denser subdivision according to plans filed in 1890. The land remained undeveloped until Dougall began development in the 1960s, but the plans changed during development to be lower density and added the canal. The new development was known as Crescent Cove, and the canal was unnamed. The canal route generally follows the path of what was originally set aside for Cumberland Avenue. By cutting the canal, 55 lots had lake access instead of the original 25. The canal and small sections of land on either side of it were owned by the city, who had responsibility for keeping it operational. They failed to do so, and by the 2000s it was overgrown. The city agreed to give the land to the homeowners, many of whom had already build on the land. In exchange, the homeowners association took over maintenance of the canal. The canal is 12 feet (3.7 m) deep in the center, but reduces to 6 feet (1.8 m) at either end where it connects to the Trent-Severn Canal system. It is about 0.5 miles (0.80 km) long, running roughly north–south across the peninsula.
