Deer Creek State Park (Utah)

The Deer Creek Dam and Reservoir hydroelectric facilities are on the Provo River in western Wasatch County, Utah, United States, about 16 miles (26 km) northeast of Provo. The dam is a zoned earthfill structure 235 feet (72 m) high with a crest length of 1,304 ft (397 m). The dam contains 2,810,000 cubic yards (2,150,000 m³) of material and forms a reservoir of 152,570 acre-foot (188,190,000 m3) capacity. Construction began in May 1938 and was completed in 1941. The reservoir supplies water for agricultural, municipal, and industrial use. Recreational activities on and around the reservoir include boating, fishing, camping, swimming and water skiing.The Deer Creek Dam is the key structure of the Provo River Project managed by the U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation. Deer Creek Reservoir is the main feature of Deer Creek State Park. Deer Creek is home to several fish species, including Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Yellow Perch, Walleye and Common Carp.

Soldier Hollow is a small hollow in the Wasatch Range that is located within the Wasatch Mountain State Park in northwestern Wasatch County, Utah, United States.The hollow was formerly a Native American encampment and was later used by a group of Army surveyors in the 1850s. While the hollow is fairly small, it is most notable for the Soldier Hollow winter sports venue that is located at the mouth of the hollow (and that was named after the hollow). The venue was created for the 2002 Winter Olympics and hosted the biathlon, cross-country skiing, and the cross country skiing portion of the Nordic combined events and is still in use.

Charleston is a town in Wasatch County, Utah, United States. The population was 415 at the 2010 census. The community was named after Charles Shelton, a first settler.

Soldier Hollow is a cross-country ski venue located at the mouth of a hollow of the same name about 53 miles (85 km) southeast of Salt Lake City in Wasatch Mountain State Park in northwestern Wasatch County, Utah, United States. The venue was created for the 2002 Winter Olympics, and during the games it hosted the biathlon, cross-country skiing, and the cross country skiing portion of the Nordic combined events.: 81–82  Since hosting the Olympics, it has been developed as a cross-country skiing, tubing, and snowshoeing venue, while featuring mountain biking and golfing in the summer. On May 1, 2016, the venue operation contract transferred from the Soldier Hollow Legacy Foundation to the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation, which owns and operates several Olympic and Paralympic legacy venues elsewhere in the state.

Sundance Resort, also known as Sundance Mountain Resort, is a ski resort located 13 miles (21 km) northeast of Provo, Utah. It includes more than 5,000 acres (2,000 ha) on the slopes of Mount Timpanogos in Utah's Wasatch Range. Alpine skiing began on the site in 1944. Actor Robert Redford acquired the area in 1968, and established a year-round resort that would later spawn the independent Sundance Film Festival and the non-profit Sundance Institute. The resort was first listed as a census-designated place (CDP) before the 2020 census.

Snake Creek is a 11.7-mile-long (18.8 km) southeastward-flowing stream tributary to the middle section of the Provo River in Wasatch County, Utah.

The Wasatch Back is a region in the Rocky Mountains in the U.S. state of Utah. It includes cities such as Park City, Heber City, and Morgan. The name Wasatch Back differentiates it from the Wasatch Front, which includes Utah's more populous cities such as Salt Lake City, Ogden, Layton, and Provo. The Wasatch Back sits on the eastern side of the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains, while the Wasatch Front sits on the western side. Wasatch is a Ute Indian word that means "mountain pass" or "low pass over high range." The Wasatch Back is a very affluent region. Summit County (home to Park City) is one of the wealthiest counties in the United States.Originally a mining and agricultural region, the Wasatch Back has experienced rapid residential growth through the 1990s and continuing into the 2000s. Local recreational activities include skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, hiking, boating, and horseback riding. Park City is the site of numerous concerts and festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival.

Wallsburg is a town in Wasatch County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. The population was 250 at the 2010 census. Wallsburg was established in 1861, and was named for William Madison Wall.

Wasatch Mountain State Park is a state park of Utah, United States, located in the northern part of the state within the Wasatch Back area on the north and west edges of the Heber Valley in Wasatch County near the city of Midway.

CAF Utah Wing Museum is one of many local detachments of the national Commemorative Air Force (CAF) non-profit aviation association dedicated to Honoring American Military Aviation through Flight, Exhibit and Remembrance. The Museum is located at Russ McDonald Field, Utah, and contains artifacts and exhibits from World War II, Korean, and Vietnam wars. In addition they operate a N2S Stearman aircraft and two T-6 Advanced Trainer aircraft - part of the CAF's fleet of over 170 vintage warbirds - with rides available to the public. Exhibits and displays preserve stories of local characters that participated in aviation. The Museum is closed, except by special arrangement, from October 31 to May 1 each year.

The George Bonner Jr. House is a historic residence in Midway, Utah, United States, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
