University of Carabobo

The Arturo Michelena University (Spanish: Universidad Arturo Michelena, UAM) is the biggest private university in Valencia, Venezuela. It offers graduate and postgraduate studies in different areas, and has around 20,000 students, mostly coming from the central part of the country. The name comes from the Venezuelan artist Arturo Michelena.

Bárbula is a locality in Naguanagua Municipality, Venezuela. It has the main campus of the University of Carabobo. The facilities include a palmetum, the Parque Universitario Palmetum.

San Diego is a town, capital of San Diego Municipality. It is located to the North of Valencia Lake in Carabobo State, Venezuela. The town was the centre of an agricultural region. It has grown very fast in recent years. Many of the areas previously used for agriculture have been taken over by further urbanizations. Now the service industry has overtaken agriculture as main source of income. The total population of the municipality according to the 2011 census is around 93,257 inhabitants.

Centro Sambil Caracas, located in Caracas, Venezuela, is the sixth largest shopping mall in South America. It was completed in 1998 and has over 500 stores in approximately 3 million square-feet (250,000 square metres). The mall has five levels: Autopista, Libertador, Acuario, Feria, and Diversión. There are other Sambil malls located in Valencia, Margarita, Maracaibo, San Cristóbal, Barquisimeto, Paraguaná, Santo Domingo, Curaçao and Madrid. The mall is owned by Constructora Sambil, run and owned by the Salomon Cohen Levy family. Alfredo Cohen is the director.A second mall in Caracas is located in La Candelaria parish under the name "Centro Sambil La Candelaria". In December 2008, just months before the building was inaugurated, the Venezuelan government, under President Hugo Chávez, expropriated the building without compensation. After the government took over the building, the building remained unfinished, dismantled and unoccupied until 2011 when it was used as a homeless shelter and then, as a warehouse of the government. On March 18, 2022 the government of Venezuela returned the ownership of the building to the Salomon Cohen family, which soft opened by November 30, 2022 and to grand open by May 28, 2023.

Estadio Misael Delgado is a multi-use stadium in Valencia, Venezuela. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Carabobo FC. The stadium holds 10,400 people (all seaters) and was reopened in 2001 (last remodel). The stadium hosted the 1994 South American Games and the Campeonato Sudamericano Sub-20 de 1977 in which Diego Maradona participated.

Forum de Valencia is an indoor sporting arena located in the Venezuelan city of Valencia, Carabobo. The capacity of the arena is 10,000 and is used mostly for basketball and concerts.

Las Trincheras, also known as Las Trincheras de Aguas Calientes, is a locality near Valencia, Venezuela. It is noted for its hot springs, which feed into the Aguas Calientes River. The name Trincheras (Spanish for "trenches") is said to derive from fortifications constructed in the colonial era.

Francisco de Miranda station (Spanish: Estación Francisco de Miranda), also known as Rectorado station, is one of the stations of the Valencia Metro in Venezuela.

The Camoruco railway terminus (Spanish: Estación Camoruco del Ferrocarril) in Valencia, Venezuela, is a rare survival of a 19th-century railway station in the South America country. The building is also known as the Rectorado of the University of Carabobo. When the Puerto Cabello and Valencia railway closed in the 1950s, the station was transferred to the University of Carabobo which converted it for administrative use.

Carabobo State (Spanish: Estado Carabobo, IPA: [esˈtaðo kaɾaˈβoβo]) is one of the 23 states of Venezuela, located in the north of the country, about two hours by car from Caracas. The state capital city is Valencia, which is also the country's main industrial center. The state's area is 4,369 km2 (1,687 sq mi) and as of the 2011 census, had a population of 2,245,744. Carabobo State was the site of the Battle of Carabobo on 24 June 1821. This was a decisive win in the war of independence from Spain, and was led by Simón Bolívar.

On March 28, 2018, a fire broke out during a prison riot in the cells at the Carabobo state police headquarters in Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela. The fire killed at least 68 people and injured scores of others. The fire is one of the deadliest incidents ever in a Venezuelan prison since the 1994 Sabaneta prison fire, in which more than 100 inmates died.Four prosecutors have been named to investigate the circumstances preceding the victims' deaths. The U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights requested an investigation and reparations for the families of the fire victims.

Valencia's Aquarium (officially Acuario de Valencia, Fundación Seijas) is a recreational park located in Valencia, Venezuela. It is the largest aquarium in Venezuela, and it also has a small zoo with species from Venezuela. It is operated by the J.V. Seijas Foundation. This aquarium has the only trained captive Amazon river dolphins in the world. It also has many species of fish, snakes and other animals as well as plants endemic to Venezuela. There is also a small park for children, with bumper cars, a carousel and other games.
