Klepp

Verdalen is a village in Klepp municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located immediately northwest of the municipal centre of Kleppe, south of the village of Voll, and east of the village of Bore. The residential village of Verdalen has grown together with Kleppe since around 2000, forming one large 3.19-square-kilometre (1.23 sq mi) urban area with a population of 9,245 people in 2019.

The village lies between the river Figgjoelva, the lake Orrevatnet, and the seashore. Bore Church sits just north of the river, just outside of the village. The Bore area is well known for its sandy beaches along the seashore.

Voll is a small village in Klepp municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located a short distance north of the river Figgjoelva, just north of the villages of Bore and Verdalen. The main industries in Voll include agriculture, a Tine dairy facility, and Malm Orstad AS, an oil services company.

Kleppe is the administrative centre of Klepp municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located about halfway between the lakes Orrevatnet and Frøylandsvatnet. The village of Bore lies about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) northwest of Kleppe and the village of Klepp stasjon lies about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) to the east. The town of Bryne lies about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) to the south and the city of Sandnes is located about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) to the northeast. Klepp Church is located in Kleppe. The population around Kleppe is growing rapidly, mostly in the form of suburban single-family homes, but also in the form of apartment blocks. The village of Kleppe and its suburb Verdalen have grown together to form one large urban area known as Kleppe or Kleppe/Verdalen. The 3.19-square-kilometre (790-acre) village has a population (2019) of 9,245 and a population density of 2,898 inhabitants per square kilometre (7,510/sq mi).

Stangeland is a borough of the city of Sandnes in the west part of the large municipality of Sandnes in Rogaland county, Norway. The small, 1.8-square-kilometre (0.69 sq mi) borough has a population (2016) of 7,560. The borough is located just southwest of downtown Sandnes.

Figgjoelva or Figgjo is a river in Rogaland county, Norway. The 26.4-kilometre (16.4 mi) long river begins at the lake Edlandsvatnet in the village of Ålgård in Gjesdal municipality. It then heads north into the municipality of Sandnes before heading west. For a while, the river forms the municipal border between Sandnes and Time and between Sandnes and Klepp. The last part of the river runs west through Klepp before emptying into the North Sea. The Feistein Lighthouse lies on a small island, just northwest of the mouth of the river. The main part of the river is 26.4 kilometres (16.4 mi), but if you include the tributaries, the river is about twice as long at 45 kilometres (28 mi).The river was developed for power generation as early as 1870, but the many small power plants that were built are now mostly closed. The plants led to the development of several industries, particularly in Ålgård. The Aalgaards Uldvarefabrikker, a large wool-textile company based in Ålgård was established in 1870 along with the first power stations.The river Figgjo was the second largest salmon river in Rogaland county in the year 2000 when 10.6 tonnes (10.4 long tons; 11.7 short tons) of salmon and 677 kilograms (1,493 lb) of sea trout were caught. Historically, the river was also fished for eels. The invasive species, Elodea canadensis (pondweed) has been detected in the river Figgjo as has agricultural pollution, both of which may affect the quality and quantity of fish life in the river.

The Ranglerock Festival is an annual rock festival that takes place in the small town of Bryne, located on the west coast of Norway. Usually arranged at the end of July. The festival was first held at Hognestad in 2002, then being called the Hoggstock Festival. The second year around, the arrangement was moved to Bryne, and in 2006 the name was changed to the Ranglerock Festival. The two-day festival is held indoors, and the last couple of years it has attracted about 600-700 people. The Hoggstock Festival received much attention in the local media as it often used slogans protesting against food festivals being arranged in the same period.

It is the church for the Bryne parish which is part of the Jæren prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The red, brick church was built in a long church style in 1979 using designs by the architect Per Stokholm. The church seats about 450 people.

Stenebyen or Tjelta is a village in Sola municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located in the south part of the municipality, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) southeast of the village of Hålandsmarka. The 0.39-square-kilometre (96-acre) village has a population (2019) of 1,004 and a population density of 2,574 inhabitants per square kilometre (6,670/sq mi).

Orrevatnet is a lake in the municipality of Klepp in Rogaland county, Norway. The 8.04-square-kilometre (3.10 sq mi) lake is the largest lake in Jæren. The lake sits about 4 metres (13 ft) above sea level and it is situated along the seashore. The 500-to-2,500-metre (1,600 to 8,200 ft) wide sandy beach strip of land that separates the lake from the sea is home to one of Norway's longest sand beaches, Orrestranda. The village of Orre lies on this strip of land to the southeast of the lake.
