Whitney State Forest

North Wales is a historic plantation and national historic district located in Fauquier County, Virginia near Warrenton, Virginia. Currently it is a 1,287.9-acre (521.2 ha) historic district that includes a manor home and farm. A date of significance for the site is 1776. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. The listed area includes work by Little & Browne and other architects and/or builders. It includes Georgian and Colonial Revival architecture in 38 contributing buildings, eight contributing sites and contributing structures.The estate on 1,471 acres was sold to former Goldman Sachs partner David B. Ford September 30, 2014 for $21 Million. Ford has acquired other historic properties including the noted record-breaking purchase of Newport, RI Gilded Age mansion Miramar by architect Horace Trumbauer, for $17.15 million in 2006.

Mountain Vista Governor's School for Science, Math & Technology (commonly Mountain Vista or MVGS) is one of Virginia's 19 state-initiated governor's schools, serving primarily 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. The school is composed of two campuses, one each in Middletown, Virginia, United States and Warrenton, Virginia, United States. Admission is determined via an application process.

Dakota is a historic home located near Warrenton, Fauquier County, Virginia. The house was designed by architect William Lawrence Bottomley and built in 1928. It is a two-story, Colonial Revival style dwelling. It has brick facing over a masonry block core; a slate-shingled hipped roof; and a symmetrical five-bay facade with a centered entry with a classical surround. A one-story bedroom wing was added to the right of the house in 1948 and garage addition was added to the left of the house in 1948. Also on the property are the contributing original garage and a stable building. Dakota is located near the site of the former Horse Show Grounds outside of Warrenton.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Oaks, also known as Innes Hill, is a historic home and farm located near Warrenton, Fauquier County, Virginia. The house was built between 1931 and 1933, and consists of a 1 to 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay, Classical Revival style main block with a four-part plan. The attached sections are a one-story pantry and kitchen wing and garage attached by a four-bay arcade. The main block features a prominent two-story, four-bay, pedimented portico has four extraordinary fluted Tower of the Winds columns. Also on the property are the contributing Italianate style brick stable (c. 1847); a brick smokehouse; and an agent's cottage, tile barn, corn house, spring house and summerhouse built between 1928 and 1930; garage with servants' quarters, greenhouse, log cabin, potato house, pump house, chicken house and field shed built between 1931 and 1945; the mansion landscape and scene of the 1881 duel; and a windmill. In September 1881, it was the site of one of the last four duels in Virginia, prior to enactment of anti-duel legislation in 1882.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Monterosa, also known as Neptune Lodge, is a historic home located in Warrenton, Virginia. The original house constructed about 1847–1848, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, stuccoed brick house with a gable roof and side-passage plan.

Warrenton Historic District is a national historic district located at Warrenton, Fauquier County, Virginia. It encompasses 288 contributing buildings in the central business district and surrounding residential areas of the county seat of Warrenton. Notable buildings include the old Fauquier County courthouse (1890), Fauquier County Administration Building (1928), the former Fauquier County Public Library (1923), Fauquier National Bank (1925), "Paradise" (1758), the Thomas L. Moore House (1816), the James Caldwell House (1831), the John Quincy Marr House (1830), the Marshall Building (c. 1820), the California Building (c. 1850), old Town Hall (1854), Warrenton Presbyterian Church (1855), Ullman's Store, and "Mecca" (1859). Also located on the district are the separately listed Brentmoor and Old Fauquier County Jail.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.The nonprofit Experience Old Town Warrenton is an accredited organization by the National Main Street Program, located in the Warrenton Historic District. The nonprofit's mission is to foster and inspire an environment in Old Town Warrenton that enhances economic vitality while preserving the historic character of the community; and to promote a rich and appealing cultural atmosphere to live, play and do business.

The Fauquier County Public Schools system (abbreviated FCPS) is a school division in the U.S. commonwealth of Virginia. It is a branch of the Fauquier County government which administers public schools in Fauquier County. FCPS enrolls approximately 11,287 students in 20 schools (11 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, 3 high schools, 1 alternative learning school). The school board is currently led by Chairman Donna Grove, appointed in 2008. The school system finished with a graduation rate of 95.5% for the class of 2017.

Built in Warrenton in 1808, the sixth jail in Fauquier County, Virginia ran for only fifteen years before a new jail was erected behind it after a lawsuit with the Commonwealth of Virginia. In those fifteen years the four-cell jail saw death and disease from neglectful conditions. Soon after the 1823 jail was constructed, the 1808 jail was transformed into a jailer's house, so that he and his family could move in and care for the prisoners. A two-story sandstone addition was added onto the original brick structure to serve as a kitchen and second floor bedroom. It was operated as a jail until 1966, when the Fauquier Historical Society saved it from demolition and created a museum. The museum was known as The Old Jail Museum before it was rebranded as the Fauquier History Museum at the Old Jail in 2014. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.The first execution of criminals condemned to suffer capital punishment in Virginia since the passage of the law, by the last General Assembly, requiring the sentence to be executed in private, occurred at the jail on July 11, 1879.

Brentmoor, also known as the Spilman-Mosby House in Warrenton, Virginia, is a historic site that was the home of Confederate military leader John Singleton Mosby.

Warrenton Presbyterian Church is a Presbyterian congregation in Warrenton, Virginia that was organized around 1780.

The George B. Fitch Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility, commonly acronymized as The WARF, is a town-owned recreation center and accompanying park in Warrenton, Virginia. The Town of Warrenton Parks and Recreation Department is situated within the facility. The facility offers a variety of memberships and day passes to individuals based on their residency. The WARF also hosts various fitness classes and special events for holidays and reservations.

Paradise is a historic house at 158 Winchester Street in Warrenton, Virginia. The oldest portion of this two story timber-frame house was built c. 1758, and is believed to be the oldest building in Warrenton. The central block of the house is three bays, with a side passage plan. It is flanked on either side by two-story wood frame wings. The house exterior was extensively redecorated in 1870, adding a full-width porch and substantial Italianate and Folk Victorian woodwork.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014; it is a contributing element of the Warrenton Historic District, listed in 1983.
