Layton station (FrontRunner)

The Layton Oregon Short Line Railroad Station is a historic railroad depot in Layton, Utah, United States. The depot was opened in 1912 alongside the tracks of the Oregon Short Line Railroad, which at that time was a subsidiary of (and later merged into) the Union Pacific Railroad. The depot was used for both freight and passenger traffic until the 1960s.

The Congregation Montefiore Synagogue is an historic former synagogue, now church, located at 355 South 300 East, in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. The synagogue was built in 1903 for the local congregation of Jews who followed Conservative Judaism. In the 1970s, the congregation merged with Congregation B'nai Israel to form Congregation Kol Ami and the building was sold. Initially used as a church by the Assemblies of God, currently the former synagogue houses the Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Christian Church.

The Farmer's Union Building in Layton, Utah, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.It was designed by local architect William Allen. It is a two-story roughly square building now, built in three sections (in 1890, in a year soon after that, and in 1930).The building was deemed significant for NRHP listing for it having housed the Farmer's Union Mercantile Institution, which was the first commercial enterprise in Layton. The building served as Layton's "primary meeting hall, social center, and recreational facility."The building replaced the original Kaysville Farmers Union, General Mercantile Store, located at 12 South Main Street. The original building being a small frame store building that was originally built in Kaysville then later moved. The Farmers Union was incorporated in 1909, E.P. Ellison as manager. The Farmers Union served as a bank and post office during the early days of Layton City, but was deemed unsafe after the murder of Mr. Sandall, the night watchman, on March 24, 1898. The Farmers Union closed in 1957. Cannery Sales and Grocery leased the building and later Family Furniture used the space. Note the 'Colored TV Sale' poster in the 1978 photo.

The First National Bank of Layton was a locally owned and operated bank in Layton, Utah. The bank was established in 1905 when the founders pooled together $25,000 to open a community bank. As of 2014, the bank has seven branches throughout the Wasatch Front. The First National Bank of Layton's chairman, Kevin Garn, was named to the position in 2000. K. John Jones was appointed as president and CEO in 2007. In 2019, First National Bank of Layton was acquired by Glacier Bancorp and was re-branded as First Community Bank Utah, Division of Glacier Bank.The First National Bank's first location, designed by architect William Allen, is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is one of only six Utah banks that have stayed in business for over one hundred years.

Layton High School is a secondary school located in Layton, Utah, United States. Part of the Davis School District, Layton High School educates students in grades 10 to 12. As of the 2014–2015 school year, 1,743 students were enrolled and actively attending the school.

The John Henry Layton House, at 683 W. Gentile St. in West Layton, Utah was built in 1898. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.It was designed by Kaysville, Utah architect William Allen and is related to the George W. Layton House a couple miles away, also on W. Gentile St. It is a two-story red brick house upon a stone foundation. The original outbuildings included a stone wellhouse (more commonly known as a cellar), a frame granary, and a large barn, all of which survive. Outbuildings also included an L-shaped shed for livestock, an elongated thatched shed, and an outhouse, which do not survive. "The Layton house is of pattern book design, one which Allen may have used for the Joseph Adams house in East Layton, and again in the George W. Layton house in West Layton."

Layton (/ˈleɪʔɪn/) is a city in Davis County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Ogden-Clearfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 81,773, with 2023 estimates showing a 5% increase to 86,003. Layton is the most populous city in Davis County and the tenth most populous in Utah. Layton has direct access to Salt Lake City, Ogden, Salt Lake City International Airport, Antelope Island, and the FrontRunner commuter rail. Layton City is a leader in economic development for the region, with immediate adjacency to Hill Air Force Base, a large hospitality district (1,000+ hotel beds) and conference center, the Layton Hills Mall, multiple nationally recognized retail and food chains, the East Gate Business Park, and the Weber State University-Davis campus. In 2014, Layton contributed $1.34 billion worth of retail sales activity, the second largest market north of Salt Lake City and seventh largest in Utah.

Layton Hills Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Layton, Utah, United States. Opened in 1980, the mall features Dick's Sporting Goods, Dillard's, and JCPenney as its anchor stores. The mall is owned by CBL & Associates Properties.

The Layton Utah Temple is a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints under construction in Layton, Utah. The intent to construct the temple was announced by church president Russell M. Nelson on April 1, 2018, during the 188th annual general conference. The Layton Utah Temple was announced concurrently with 6 other temples. At the time, the number of total operating or announced temples was 189. When completed, it will be the 19th temple in Utah and the second temple in Davis County.On July 15, 2019, the church announced that the temple will be constructed on an 11.8-acre property located at the corner of Oak Hills Drive and Rosewood Lane on the southeast side of Layton and noted that the preliminary plans called for a three-story temple of more than 87,000 square feet.On October 8, 2019, the church released a rendering of the Layton Utah Temple.On January 23, 2020, the church announced that a groundbreaking, to signify the beginning of construction, was scheduled to occur on May 30, 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a small-scale, private groundbreaking occurred on May 23, 2020, with Craig C. Christensen, president of the church's Utah Area, presiding. The church then provided photographs and video of the groundbreaking on the originally scheduled date.On December 11, 2023, the church announced that a public open house is scheduled from April 19 to June 1, 2024 (excluding Sundays). The temple is then scheduled to be dedicated on June 16, 2024 by David A. Bednar of the church's Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

Anime Banzai is an annual three-day anime convention held during October at the Davis Conference Center in Layton, Utah. The name of the convention roughly comes from the Japanese word for "hooray". The convention is organized by Utah Anime Promotions and is run by a volunteer staff.
