Pontiac High School is an English-language, secondary school in Shawville, Quebec, Canada with about 400 students. It is operated by the Western Quebec School Board.

Shawville is a town located in the Pontiac Regional County Municipality in the administrative region of Outaouais in western Quebec, Canada.

Bristol is a municipality in the Ottawa Valley, in the province of Quebec in the Outaouais region, part of the Pontiac Regional County Municipality, Quebec, Canada. It is located on the north shore of Lac des Chats (part of the Ottawa River) across from Arnprior, Ontario. Its settlements include Bristol Village, Bristol Mines (Bristol-les-Mines), Bristol Ridge, Caldwell, Doherty, Elmside, Maple Ridge, Maryland, McKee, Norway Bay, and Weirstead.

Lac des Chats (English: Lake of Cats), commonly known as Chats Lake, is a lake on the Ottawa River which forms part of the boundary between the provinces of Ontario and Quebec (Canada). It is formed by the Chats Falls Dam and serves as the reservoir for the Chats Falls Generating Station. Most of the lake is located in Pontiac Regional County Municipality, Quebec, and in Renfrew County, Ontario, but the easternmost part (near the dam) lies in Ottawa, Ontario and in Les Collines-de-l'Outaouais Regional County Municipality, Quebec.

Portage-du-Fort is a village municipality in the Pontiac Regional County Municipality in the southwest corner of the Outaouais region of Quebec, Canada. The village lies across the Ottawa River from Chenaux, Ontario and Horton, Ontario. At Portage-du-Fort there is a dam, the Chenaux Hydro-Electric Power Station, and bridge across the Ottawa River.

Lochwinnoch is an unincorporated community located in Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, that straddles Horton Township and McNab/Braeside Township. Lochwinnoch Presbyterian Church located at 946 Lochwinnoch Road was opened on November 11, 1894. One of two round barns is located in Lochwinnoch, one of which was built in 1884. Notable residents include The Valley Carver, a regionally known wood carving artist who has been featured in many TV documentaries run by local channels.

Storyland was a children’s theme park located northwest of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, near the town of Renfrew in Horton Township featuring depictions of classic fairy tale scenes. The park featured a mini-golf course, a small water park, live performers, playgrounds, small rides, and staff dressed as fairy tale characters. It is near the Champlain Lookout in Brown's Bay, where Samuel de Champlain made land. In 1953 a large rock was found in the area bearing a chiselled inscription: "Champlain Juin 2, 1613". However the authenticity of the inscription has been brought into question by the date format. The Champlain Lookout was a part of the landscape long before Storyland was founded. The park closed after the 2011 season and was sold in 2013. It has since transformed into a glamping campground. Elements Luxury Tented Camp and Nature Spa have been set up on the acreage.

Sand Point is a community in the township of McNab/Braeside, Ontario, Canada, along the Ottawa River, roughly six miles to the west of Arnprior on the River Road. During the 1860s and early 1870s it was the terminus of the Canada Central Railway (subsequently acquired by the Canadian Pacific Railway). At one point Sand Point boasted a hotel, a dance hall, a general store, and a post office.

McNab/Braeside is a township in eastern Ontario, Canada, on the south shore of Chats Lake (part of the Ottawa River), straddling the lower Madawaska River in Renfrew County. The township was created on January 1, 1998, when the Village of Braeside amalgamated with McNab Township.

Horton is a township in eastern Ontario, Canada, at the confluence of the Bonnechere River and the Ottawa River in Renfrew County. The Town of Renfrew was originally part of Horton Township.

Alexander Stewart Provincial Park is a nature reserve in McNab/Braeside, Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, about 11 kilometres (7 mi) west of the centre of Arnprior. This nature reserve contains a hardwood forest of several species including maple, American beech, basswood, blue-beech, and bur oak. The subsurface is clay silt, a remnant of the ice age Champlain Sea. The site is at an elevation of 130 metres (430 ft). The property was bought in 1860 by the eponymous Alexander Stewart, and donated by his children to the province in 1966. The park, located at the northwest intersection of Maple Bend Road and Russett Drive, is a non-operating park, meaning there are no facilities or services.

The Renfrew Fair is an annual event held in Renfrew, Ontario. The fair has been operating since 1852, when it was "organized by local Scotsmen with a government grant". As of 1918, it was reportedly the "second largest county fair in Ontario".
