Storyland was a children’s theme park located northwest of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, near the town of Renfrew in Horton Township featuring depictions of classic fairy tale scenes. The park featured a mini-golf course, a small water park, live performers, playgrounds, small rides, and staff dressed as fairy tale characters. It is near the Champlain Lookout in Brown's Bay, where Samuel de Champlain made land. In 1953 a large rock was found in the area bearing a chiselled inscription: "Champlain Juin 2, 1613". However the authenticity of the inscription has been brought into question by the date format. The Champlain Lookout was a part of the landscape long before Storyland was founded. The park closed after the 2011 season and was sold in 2013. It has since transformed into a glamping campground. Elements Luxury Tented Camp and Nature Spa have been set up on the acreage.

Horton is a township in eastern Ontario, Canada, at the confluence of the Bonnechere River and the Ottawa River in Renfrew County. The Town of Renfrew was originally part of Horton Township.

Renfrew is a town on the Bonnechere River in Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada. Located one hour west of Ottawa in Eastern Ontario, Renfrew is the fourth largest town in the county after Petawawa, Pembroke and Arnprior. The town is a small transportation hub connecting Highway 60 and Highway 132 with the Trans-Canada Highway. Renfrew is also known historically for its role in the formation of the National Hockey League. It lies about 5 kilometres from the Quebec border, about 10 kilometres by road. CHMY-FM is the call sign of an English-language radio station located in Renfrew, Ontario on the FM dial at 96.1 MHz. Owned by My Broadcasting Corporation, the station airs an adult contemporary format branded as 96.1 myFM, and is the company's flagship station. The station was licensed by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission in 2004.The station also has a rebroadcast transmitter in Arnprior (CHMY-FM-1), that originally operated on 104.7 FM. That transmitter was certified by Industry Canada Spectrum Management to move to 107.7 FM in 2007, due to potential broadcast interference from the FM conversion of CJRC in Gatineau. The switch in frequency took place in the spring of 2007. In October 2008, power was increased on CHMY-FM-1, and the transmitter site was relocated from the Arnprior water tower to the Glentel site at Mount Pakenham. On April 2, 2014, the CRTC approved My Broadcasting's application for a new English-language station in Arnprior, which will operate at 107.7 MHz, replacing rebroadcaster CHMY-FM-1 at that frequency. On the same date, the CRTC denied My Broadcasting's application for a new station in Carleton Place, which would have broadcast at 97.5 MHz.On October 28, 2010, My Broadcasting applied to increase the effected radiated power for CHMY-FM; this application was approved on January 12, 2011.In 2016, CHMY-FM-1 Arnprior dropped simulcast with CHMY-FM Renfrew, to operate as a full-time radio station at 107.7 FM in Arnprior. CHMY-FM-1 changed to CIMI-FM then changed to CFMP-FM.

CFMP-FM (107.7 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station in Arnprior, Ontario. It broadcasts a classic hits format branded as Oldies 107.7. The station is owned & operated by My Broadcasting Corporation.

Renfrew Collegiate Institute (RCI) is a secondary school in the town of Renfrew, Ontario, and is part of the Renfrew County District School Board. Located at 184 Bonnechere Street, South Renfrew Collegiate Institute is one of two high schools in Renfrew. In 2015, Renfrew Collegiate Institute ranked 558 in Ontario Secondary Schools, according to Fraser Institute. Feeder schools include Queen Elizabeth Public School, Central Public School, and Admaston Township Public School.

The Renfrew Fair is an annual event held in Renfrew, Ontario. The fair has been operating since 1852, when it was "organized by local Scotsmen with a government grant". As of 1918, it was reportedly the "second largest county fair in Ontario".

MyFM Centre Recreation Complex is a sports facility located in Renfrew, Ontario. The main arena is the home of the Renfrew Wolves of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL). The facility holds two arenas, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, a fitness centre as well as four community rooms for special events. The building was constructed in 1988 and the main arena has a capacity of 1,600 people, or 1,200 for a non-hockey event. The main arena underwent significant renovations in the years leading up to the Wolves' arrival, with the project ultimately going significantly over budget and becoming the subject of controversy and investigations.

Clarendon is a municipality in the Outaouais region, part of the Pontiac Regional County Municipality, Quebec, Canada. It is located on the north shore of the Ottawa River across from Horton Township in Ontario. The only notable lake is Green Lake, which is surrounded by cottages.

Lochwinnoch is an unincorporated community located in Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, that straddles Horton Township and McNab/Braeside Township. Lochwinnoch Presbyterian Church located at 946 Lochwinnoch Road was opened on November 11, 1894. One of two round barns is located in Lochwinnoch, one of which was built in 1884. Notable residents include The Valley Carver, a regionally known wood carving artist who has been featured in many TV documentaries run by local channels.

Astrolabe Lake (formerly Green Lake) is a lake in the township of Whitewater Region, Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada. Astrolabe Lake is where, in 1867, Edward Lee, a local farmboy, found Samuel Champlain's long lost astrolabe; a plaque now stands near the lake to commemorate this. The lake is a meeting point for the back end of both the local golf course, Oakes of Cobden, and the Logos Land waterpark. It drains via Buttermilk Creek and the Muskrat River into the Ottawa River.
