Frederick High School (Maryland)

Culler Lake is a man-made lake in Frederick, Maryland. The lake is used as part of stormwater management and it is also a gathering place for community recreation and it was restored and revitalized in 2016. The lake is located in Baker park.

Schifferstadt, Also known as Scheifferstadt, is the oldest standing house in Frederick, Maryland. Built in 1758, it is one of the nation's finest examples of German-Georgian colonial architecture. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2016.

McCurdy Field, located in Frederick, Maryland, is the former home of the Frederick Hustlers, Warriors, and Frederick Keys, a class A minor league affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. The current stadium structure is largely an aluminum superstructure with dual brick buildings on the sides. The field first opened in 1924. McCurdy Field was the home of the Frederick teams of the minor league baseball Blue Ridge League from 1924 to 1930. On Monday, September 6, 1937, the Washington Redskins played their first Washington-area game following their move from Boston. Washington beat an American Legion All-Star team by a score of 50-0 before a crowd of 1,000 at McCurdy.During World War II, professional baseball teams conducted spring training in the north. The International League Syracuse Chiefs held spring training at McCurdy in 1943 and the Philadelphia Athletics also held spring training in Frederick in 1944 and 1945 and played their exhibition games at McCurdy Field.Lights were installed in 1947. In 1968, the old wooden grandstand was condemned. It was torn down in 1971, leaving just the field. Bob Marendt led an effort to renovate the park, raising $50,000 in donations, and federal and state government paid for the balance. A renovated concrete and steel park opened in 1974, with metal bleachers that sat 1,500 and clubhouse facilities to host the Babe Ruth League 13-year-old national tournament.

Hood College is a private college in Frederick, Maryland. In fall 2018, Hood enrolled 2,052 students (1,092 undergraduate students; 960 graduate students). Thirty-eight percent of students are either members of under-represented racial or ethnic populations or from foreign countries.It was established in 1893 by the Potomac Synod of the Reformed Church in the United States as the Woman's College of Frederick. An all-female institution until 1971, the college initially admitted men only as commuters. This continued until 2003, when male students were extended the option of residential status.

The Frederick Armory is one of a series of similar armories built for the Maryland National Guard in the early 20th century. The building explicitly copies features of medieval fortifications, with crenelated blocks at either end of a buttressed drill hall.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.The armory is now a city recreation center.

Woodsboro Bank Arena is a sports venue in Frederick, Maryland on the campus of Hood College. It is home to Hood's volleyball and women's and men's basketball teams, and to the Frederick Flying Cows of The Basketball League. A part of the Ronald J. Volpe Athletic Center, the arena was completed in November 2011 by local firms Warner Construction and Zavos Architecture + Design. The arena has 1,600-seats, with space for 500 additional floor-level seats. The arena was originally named BB&T Arena from its 2011 opening. In April 2024, Hood College reached a five-year naming rights agreement with Woodsboro Bank to rename the facility Woodsboro Bank Arena.

FPD is headed by Jason Lando, who was appointed Chief of Police in March, 2021 replacing outgoing Chief Ed Hargis who resigned in 2020.

It is the seat of All Saints Parish, Diocese of Maryland, which covers most of Frederick County, Maryland and once covered most of Western Maryland.

The Frederick Historic District is a national historic district in Frederick, Maryland. The district encompasses the core of the city and contains a variety of residential, commercial, ecclesiastical, and industrial buildings dating from the late 18th century to 1941. Notable are larger detached dwellings in the Queen Anne and American Foursquare architectural styles of the late 19th and early 20th centuries The churches reflect high style architecture ranging from Gothic and Greek Revival to Richardsonian Romanesque and Colonial Revival. The east side of the district includes the industrial buildings.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, with a boundary increase in 1988.
