Druid Hill Park

The Charm City Bluegrass Festival is a bluegrass festival established in 2013 and taking place each April in Baltimore, MD. The festival features local, regional, and national musicians. The festival maintains strong ties with the local community and seeks to highlight the long, distinguished history of Bluegrass music in Baltimore.

The Howard Peters Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Gardens of Baltimore, often known as the Baltimore City Conservatory, is a historic conservatory / greenhouse and botanical garden located in Druid Hill Park at 3100 Swann Drive, in the northwest area of Baltimore, Maryland. It was designed by George A. Frederick (1842–1924), who was the architect of the Baltimore City Hall (1867–1875), and semi-official municipal architect of Baltimore in the late 19th century. The new conservatory opened to the public on August 26, 1888, 28 years after the city's largest park itself. with a major renovation in the early 2000s that added two new side wing pavilions. It now contains five distinct areas: the 1888 Palm House, the Orchid Room, Mediterranean House, Tropical House, and Desert House. The surrounding 1.5 acres (0.61 ha) of grounds within Druid Hill Park, feature 35 flowerbeds. The Rawlings Conservatory is on the National Register of Historic Places (kept by the National Park Service of the U.S. Department of the Interior), the Maryland Inventory of Historic Properties (maintained by the Maryland Historic Trust), and is a Baltimore City Landmark. It is the second oldest surviving public glass conservatory in the United States, after the Conservatory of Flowers.

The Maryland Zoo — also known as The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore and formerly known as The Baltimore City Zoo or the Baltimore Zoo — is a 135-acre park located in historic Druid Hill Park in the northwestern area of the City of Baltimore, Maryland, (U.S.A.), with the postal address of 1876 Mansion House Drive. Druid Hill was opened in 1876 as the first major park purchase by the City under foreseeing Mayor Thomas Swann (1809-1883), (and later as 33rd Governor of Maryland, 1866-1869) and was later designed by famed nationally-known landscaper Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903), with additional work on various park buildings contributed by future Baltimore City Hall architect George A. Frederick (1842-1924), and Park Commissioner John H.B. Latrobe (son of earlier famed British-American architect Benjamin Henry Latrobe [1764-1820]), who also was an accomplished lawyer, author, artist, amateur architect and civic leader. Olmsted had earlier won a contest for the design of plans for New York City's famed Central Park in mid-town Manhattan in 1858, a year after it opened, and worked on the massive public works project during its construction from 1858 to 1873. The Maryland Zoo is now currently home to over 2,000 animals, and is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

The Auchentoroly Terrace Historic District encompasses a residential district southwest of Druid Hill Park on the northwest side of Baltimore, Maryland. It is roughly bounded by Auchentoroly Terrace, Reisterstown Road, Liberty Heights Avenue, and Fulton Avenue. This area was developed between 1895 and 1911 with a series of large, fashionable townhouses, mainly in the Renaissance Revival style. Development was begun by the heirs of John Morris Orem, and largely finished by the Auchentoroloy Corporation, which acquired land not developed by the Orems.The district was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Shaarei Tfiloh Synagogue, also known as the Shul in the Park, is an Orthodox Jewish synagogue located on Druid Hill Park at 2001 Liberty Heights Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland, in the United States. Its name means Gates of Prayer in Hebrew. In September 2023 it was reported that the synagogue had closed.Shaarei Tfiloh Synagogue was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. The synagogue is significant due to its association with the immigration of Russian and Eastern European Jews to Baltimore. It is a rock-faced stone structure with large arched stained glass windows and a pedimented roofline surmounted by a central copper-clad dome.

Brick Hill is a national historic district in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a small, isolated enclave neighborhood of 2- and 2+1⁄2-story masonry duplexes constructed about 1877 to house workers in the nearby Meadow Mill of the Woodberry Manufacturing Company. All but one of the eleven duplexes are constructed of brick, hence the four-acre enclave's traditional name; the other dwelling is built of stone. Two small two-story frame houses are also included in the district.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Poole and Hunt Company Buildings refers to a complex of buildings that once housed an ironworks— consisting of a foundry, machine shop, blacksmith shop, erecting shop, and other structures, which were located in the Woodberry section of northwest Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The buildings, made chiefly of brick and fieldstone, occupied portions of a 20-acre (81,000 m2 ) site. They were constructed beginning in 1853 and enlarged periodically as the business of manufacturing iron-based parts and machinery expanded. [Poole and Hunt refers to the partners Robert Poole (1818-1903) and German H. Hunt (1828-1907).] In 1973, although the buildings had been converted to other uses, they remained intact and that year were added to the National Register of Historic Places. In 1995, a major fire destroyed the machine shop, damaged parts of other buildings, and stopped further activity in the balance of the site. After 2000, real estate developers purchased the former industrial site and converted the buildings into commercial and residential uses. The complex is now known as Clipper Mill.

Londontown Manufacturing Company, Inc., also known as Meadow Mill, is a historic cotton mill complex located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a three-story, Italianate brick structure that features a square tower structure with a truncated spire-like roof having an open bell cupola. It was erected in 1877 as one of five mills which comprised the Woodberry Manufacturing Company. It was intended for the manufacture of seine twines. It was home to London Fog, prior to its move to Eldersburg, Maryland. Londontown Manufacturing Company, Inc. was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Woodberry station is a Baltimore Light Rail station in the Woodberry neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The station has two side platforms serving two tracks. The station is near the former site of the Woodberry station of the Northern Central Railway, an affiliate of the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Mondawmin station is a Metro SubwayLink station in Baltimore, Maryland. It is located under the intersection of Reisterstown Road and Liberty Heights Avenue in the Mondawmin neighborhood, adjacent to the Mondawmin Mall. It is the northernmost underground station on the line, and a major transfer point to many bus routes. Mondawmin station serves Mondawmin Mall, Coppin State University, Druid Hill Park, The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, and the Lower Park Heights neighborhood. The station's location next to Mondawmin Mall, Baltimore's oldest mall, has led its owners to plan an expansion.On the surface, a bus loop connects to Reisterstown Road and Liberty Heights Avenue. This loop and the adjacent streets are used by a number of bus routes, many of which terminate in it. Several routes were cut back to Mondawmin on June 18, 1984, about seven months after the station opened, and Routes M-1, M-2, and M-3 were formed at that time to replace the portions of those routes beyond Mondawmin. Specifically, Route M-1 was split from Route 28 (now Route 5 near Mondawmin), Route M-2 was split from Route 7, and Route M-3 was split from Route 5.

Riviera Apartments is a historic apartment building located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a six-story, brick and cast stone apartment building built in 1915.Riviera Apartments was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Eutaw–Madison Apartment House Historic District is a national historic district in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It consists of a group of three multi-story apartment buildings built in the first quarter of the 20th century. They are: The Esplanade, a 9-story apartment building built in 1912; the Emersonian, an 8-story building constructed in 1915 of stuccoed masonry; and Temple Gardens, a 14-story building built in 1926. The district is significant in part because of its association with Baltimore's Jewish community. During the 19th century, the Eutaw–Madison neighborhood became a center for the Jewish community in Baltimore. By the 1920s the neighborhood had been established firmly as a neighborhood of middle and upper-class Jews, many of whom were professionals and merchants.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
