Golden Valley Lutheran College was founded as the Lutheran Bible Institute. The LBI was a two-year degree-granting Lutheran educational institution established in 1919 in St. Paul, Minnesota. It moved to Minneapolis in 1929 and then to Golden Valley, Minnesota in 1961. It opened Lutheran Bible Institute of Seattle in 1944, which would become Trinity Lutheran College, a four-year degree-granting institution. Former Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons, and Washington Wizards head coach Flip Saunders began his basketball coaching career here in 1977 and never lost a home game as coach, going 56–0. Former pro wrestler (and now evangelist) Nikita Koloff played football at the college. Pro wrestler Road Warrior Animal also played football here. In 1967 the school was changed into a two-year junior college and renamed Golden Valley Lutheran College. The school closed in 1985. Most of the campus is intact and is used as the Perpich Center for Arts Education, a public high school.

KYCR (1440 kHz) is an AM radio station serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. It is owned by Salem Media Group, and is carrying a business radio format. KYCR's studios are located in Eagan, while its transmitter is located in Golden Valley.

Breck School is an independent college-preparatory preK–12 school in Golden Valley, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis. It was founded in 1886 and is affiliated with the Episcopal Church. The school includes a Lower School consisting of grades preschool through four, a Middle School consisting of grades five through eight, and an Upper School consisting of grades nine through twelve. Breck School is accredited by the National Association of Independent Schools.

NUCCA is an acronym for the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association. It was founded in 1966 by chiropractor Ralph Gregory and based primarily upon the work he and John Grostic had performed before Grostic's death in 1964. The new style of upper cervical adjusting technique was taught in 1966 at the first NUCCA seminar, which was held at the Howard Johnson Motel in Monroe, Michigan.

The West Metro Education Program (WMEP) was a voluntary consortium of 11 urban and suburban school districts in the Minneapolis area of Minnesota. As an educational equity-focused collaborative for student success and educator growth, WMEP offered professional development, equity leadership and student programs to build capacity in the region. WWTC (1280 AM, "The Patriot") is a commercial radio station licensed to Minneapolis, Minnesota and serving the Twin Cities region. It is owned by Salem Media Group and broadcasts a conservative talk radio format. By day, WWTC transmits with 10,000 watts. At night, the power is increased to 15,000 watts. WWTC has a directional signal using a four-tower array. The transmitter and radio studios are on Cliff Road near Minnesota State Highway 77 in Eagan. Programming is also heard on 250-watt FM translator K298CO at 107.5 MHz.

KDIZ (1570 kHz "Freedom 1570") is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Golden Valley, Minnesota, and serving the Twin Cities radio market. The station is owned by the Salem Media Group and broadcasts a conservative talk radio format. KDIZ's radio studios are on Cliff Road near Minnesota State Highway 77 in Eagan. By day, KDIZ is powered at 4,000 watts. But because 1570 AM is a Mexican clear channel frequency, KDIZ reduces power at night to 220 watts to avoid interference. The signal is non-directional at all times. The transmitter is on Lilac Drive North in Golden Valley, near Minnesota State Highway 100.

Paul Olfelt House is a Usonian style house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, at the outskirts of Minneapolis. It was designed in 1958 and completed in 1960 as a residence for Paul and Helen Olfelt, who commissioned both the building and the interior design from the architect.The house, constructed mainly of brick and stone, has the area of 2,647 square feet (245.9 m2) and includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms.In 2017 the house was put up for sale for $1,395,000.00
