Norristown State Hospital

Norristown Farm Park is a 690-acre (279 ha) Pennsylvania state park in East Norriton and West Norriton Townships and Norristown in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. Located just off of Interstate 276 on West Germantown Pike, it is operated in partnership with the Montgomery County Department of Parks. A working farm on the site of Norristown State Hospital, the park has multiple colonial-era farm buildings and homes on its grounds.Stony Creek flows through the park. Baseball, bicycling, cross-country skiing, hiking, fishing, and picnicking opportunities are available in the park, as are summer musical concerts.

Gen. Thomas J. Stewart Memorial Armory, also known as Norristown Armory, is a historic National Guard armory located at Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1927-1928, and is a "T"-plan building consisting of a two-story administration building with a two-story rear drill hall section executed in the Classical Revival style. The building is constructed of yellow brick on a concrete foundation, with decorative stonework and a parapet.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

West Norristown Historic District is a national historic district located in Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It encompasses approximately 1,700 buildings in a primarily residential neighborhood in the West End of Norristown. The housing predominantly consists of rowhouses with a large number of semi-detached houses. The area was developed between 1885 and 1925 and the houses are in a variety of popular late-19th and early-20th-century architectural styles.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Norristown is a municipality (with home rule status) and the county seat of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Located along the Schuylkill River approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) from the Philadelphia city limits, Norristown has a population of 34,324 as of the 2010 U.S. Census. It is the fourth most populous municipality in the county and second most populous borough in Pennsylvania. It is the largest non-township municipality in Montgomery County.

Selma Mansion is one of the oldest structures in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Located on the western edge of the town, Selma was built by General Andrew Porter in 1794 around an existing structure purchased from Alexander McCammon in 1786. Porter was a soldier during the American Revolutionary War and helped found the Continental Marines, forerunner of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was later appointed Surveyor General, helped lay out the borders of the commonwealth and attained the rank of general.

Main Street station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Norristown, Pennsylvania, United States. It serves the Manayunk/Norristown Line. It is one of the two stations on the short electrified branch to Elm Street in Norristown. This branch leaves the main (diesel-only) line to Pottsville and Reading. Currently owned by Norfolk Southern Railway, the Reading Railroad once operated passenger service on that line. The station has 76 parking spaces. It is located at Main and Markley Streets. In FY 2013, Main Street station had a weekday average of 189 boardings and 181 alightings.

Norris City Cemetery is located at the corner of Stanbridge Street and Norris City Avenue in East Norriton Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Founded in the early 1860s, the cemetery came under township ownership in the late 1980s after falling into disrepair, and is now maintained as part of East Norriton's parks system. Its development was part of the so-called Rural Cemetery Movement, and as such was nonsectarian and was not overseen by any specific municipality. Most graves were populated between 1880 and 1920, but the cemetery has remained active since. The cemetery is most ordinary: there are few elaborate graves and only one notable person buried here, Ephraim Acker (1827–1903), a US Congress Representative.

Central Norristown Historic District is a national historic district located in Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It encompasses approximately 1,900 buildings in the central business district and surrounding residential areas of Norristown. Notable buildings include the Montgomery County Courthouse, Philadelphia and Western Railroad Station (1931), Scheidt Brewery, Montgomery County Jail, Y.M.C.A, Odd Fellows Hall, and a variety of workers' housing and imposing dwellings.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

David Rittenhouse Junior High School is a historic junior high school building located at Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1928, and is a "T"-plan building in the Colonial Revival style. It is a three-story, red brick building with limestone trim and detailing. It features an ornate, two-story, semi-circular entrance portico, palladian window, and limestone clad tower. The school closed in June 1981. It was named for David Rittenhouse (1732–1796).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

It is one of over 200 Coptic Orthodox Churches in the US. The church belongs to Coptic Diocese of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware & West Virginia.

Norristown Transportation Center is a two-level multimodal public transportation regional hub located in Norristown, Pennsylvania, USA, operated by SEPTA. It opened in 1989 to replace the older Norristown High Speed Line (Route 100) terminus one block away at Main and Swede Streets, and integrated the former Reading Company DeKalb Street Norristown railroad station (built 1933) into its structure. A plaque embedded in the sidewalk (between the bus lane and Lafayette Street) commemorates the location of one of the columns of the dismantled segment of the Philadelphia and Western Railroad (P&W) trestle.
