Mendeleyevo, Moscow Oblast

Lyalovo (Russian: Лья́лово) is a rural locality (a village) under the administrative jurisdiction of Mendeleyevo Work Settlement in Solnechnogorsky District of Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is located on high left bank of the Klyazma River about 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) from its source, 1 kilometer (0.62 mi) from Mendeleyevo, and about 3 kilometers (1.9 mi) from Zelenograd.

Aeroflot Flight 411 was an international scheduled flight from Sheremetyevo Airport, Moscow to Freetown, Sierra Leone via Dakar in Senegal. Early on 6 July 1982, the four-engined Ilyushin Il-62 crashed and was destroyed by fire after two engines were shut down shortly after take-off. All 90 passengers and crew on board died as a result of the crash.

The Shtyki Memorial (Russian: Мемориальный комплекс «Штыки», lit. bayonets), also named the Monument to the Defenders of Moscow (памятник Защитникам Москвы), is a memorial complex in honour of those who defended Russia in the Battle of Moscow. At the site are a common grave and an architectural complex. It is located on the 40th km of Leningrad highway, at the second entry into the city of Zelenograd heading south, and the road to Mendeleyevo heading north. The memorial complex obtained its name because of the central obelisk, which represents the stylized image of three bayonets held together. The first burials in the common grave were in the winter of 1941; the architectural features were completed on 24 June 1974. The architects of the project were I. A. Pokrovsky, and Y. A. Sverdlovsky, with sculptors A. G. Shteyman, and E. A. Shteyman-Derevyanko.

The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation (Russian: Министерство спорта Российской Федерации), often abbreviated as Minsport (Минспорт), is a ministry of the Government of Russia responsible for sports. Angstrem Stadium is a football stadium in Zelenograd, Moscow, Russia. It is the home stadium of FC Zelenograd. The stadium was initially built in the 1970s for the Angstrem company, handed over to the club in 2006 and reconstructed in 2007. In April 2014 the stadium was listed as possible 2018 FIFA World Cup training base for teams playing in Moscow.

Zelenograd (Russian: Зеленоград, IPA: [zʲɪlʲɪnɐˈgrat], lit. 'green city') is a city and administrative okrug of Moscow, Russia. The city of Zelenograd and the territory under its jurisdiction form the Zelenogradsky Administrative Okrug (ZelAO), an exclave located within Moscow Oblast, 37 kilometers (23 mi) north-west of central Moscow, along the M10 highway. Zelenograd is the smallest administrative okrug of Moscow by area, the second-lowest by population, and the largest Moscow exclave by area and by population within Moscow Oblast. Zelenograd, if it were a separate settlement, would be the fifth-largest city in Moscow Oblast and one of the 100 largest cities of Russia. Before the expansion of the territory of Moscow in 2012, Zelenograd occupied second place among the administrative okrugs of Moscow, second only to the Eastern Administrative Okrug, in terms of the share of greenery in its total area (approximately 30%). Zelenograd was founded in 1958 as a new town in the Soviet Union, and developed as a center of electronics, microelectronics and the computer industry known as the "Soviet/Russian Silicon Valley". It remains an important center of electronics in Russia. The city color is green and its emblematic animal is the squirrel.

Angstrem JSC (Russian: АО Ангстрем) is a Moscow-based company involved in the design and fabrication of electronic products and semiconductors. It produced a range of Soviet-era integrated circuits. After the fall of the Soviet Union, in 90s it has produced a line of calculators and bank cards.

National Research University of Electronic Technology (Russian: Национальный исследовательский университет "Московский институт электронной техники" / МИЭТ, lit. National Research University "Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology") is a Russian technical university in the field of microelectronics, information and computer technologies and one of 29 National Research Universities. University was founded in 1965 and is based in Zelenograd, Moscow (the Soviet Union's center for electronic and microelectronic design and engineering).

Aeroflot Flight 2415 (Russian: Рейс 2415 Аэрофлота Reys 2415 Aeroflota) was a regularly scheduled passenger flight from Moscow to Leningrad that crashed shortly after takeoff on 28 November 1976. The cause of the accident was attributed to crew disorientation as a result of artificial horizon failure in low visibility conditions.
