Briarwood (Little Rock)

University Mall, originally The Mall, is a defunct shopping center in Little Rock, Arkansas, which operated for approximately 40 years, from 1967 until 2007. When it closed, University Mall was the oldest enclosed shopping center in the Little Rock metropolitan area. Located in the central part of Little Rock, the site is situated along South University Avenue, north of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Interstate 630. The mall was managed by Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group. The Mall was initially a success, but its popularity declined as new retail outlets in Little Rock drew customers away. The departure of its anchor stores, beginning with the bankruptcy of Montgomery Ward in 2001, left more than half of the mall empty. Throughout the 1990s, the mall steadily declined as retailers and customers left. Due to the waning popularity and litigation involving the deterioration of the building, the mall was sold in 2007 to Strode Property Company, and the remaining few tenants were told to vacate. Demolition began for the primary structure in early 2008. Prior to this, associated buildings were razed beginning in December 2007, starting with the former Montgomery Ward auto center, as well as the former JCPenney auto center, which had been used several years as an automotive maintenance facility for the City of Little Rock.

Hall High is a neighborhood located in the central portion of Little Rock, Arkansas. It is a largely residential area to the west of Pulaski Heights, and south of Tanglewood. Named for the city's Hall High School, the neighborhood is also widely considered as a part of the greater midtown section of Little Rock. The neighborhood is also home to the Catholic High School for Boys. Though northern and southern boundaries of the neighborhood are less distinct, heavily traveled Mississippi and University avenues generally are considered as western and eastern boundaries, respectively. H Street and Evergreen Drive are among the busier streets carrying traffic between the two avenues. Homes built in Hall High generally date from years following World War II, contrasting with the more historic Pulaski Heights area.

Park Plaza Mall is an enclosed shopping mall located in the Midtown neighborhood of Little Rock, Arkansas. Originally opened in 1960 as Park Plaza Shopping Center, an open-air shopping center, the mall is home to two Dillard's flagship stores and merchants including H&M, Talbots, and Eddie Bauer. The structure contains 545,800 square feet (50,710 m2) of retail space, although Dillard's owns 284,165 square feet (26,399.8 m2) of that area for its flagship stores.

Hall STEAM Magnet High School, formerly Hall High School, is an accredited public high school located in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. It is a part of the Little Rock School District (LRSD). Prior to its conversion to an all magnet school in 2020, Hall was one of five comprehensive four-year public high schools in the LRSD enrolling students in grades nine through twelve.

The Eugene Towbin House is a historic house at 16 Broadview Drive in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was built in 1960 to a design by Hollis Beck, and is a good local example of Mid-Century Modern architecture. It is a single-story frame structure, its walls finished in vertical board siding and resting on a concrete block foundation. It is covered by a low-pitch side-facing gabled roof with deep eaves. The roof extends to the right beyond the main block to also shelter a carport. Eugene Towbin, for whose family the house was built, was a prominent physician in Little Rock.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019.

The Buhler House is a historic house at 1820 Fair Park Boulevard in Little Rock, Arkansas. It is a 2+1⁄2-story structure, its exterior clad in brick, set on a field stone foundation. Stylistically it is in the English Revival, with a tile roof and trim elements of concrete. The house's most distinctive feature is its internal frame, which is constructed entirely out of steel beams. Its exterior and interior door frames are also steel, as is the front door, which has been processed to resemble walnut. It was built in 1930-31 by Henry Buhler, owner of a local real estate development firm. No other residential structure in the state has been documented to have this type of construction.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Noland Blass Jr. House is a historic house at 217 Normandy Rd. in Little Rock, Arkansas. It is a single-story Mid-Century Modern structure, finished in brick and vertical board siding. It is covered by a shallow-pitch gabled roof, whose eaves extend well beyond the structure. Its main entrance is recessed, and its rear wall is mostly glass, providing views of the landscaped yard with pergola and swimming pool. The house was built in 1952 to a design by the noted Arkansas architect Noland Blass Jr. for his family. It was sold out of the family about 1990.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019 for its architecture.

Boyle Park is an approximately 250 acre urban park located in west-central Little Rock. The land for Boyle Park was donated to the City of Little Rock in 1929 by Dr. John F. Boyle. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995 for the eight known intact examples of Civilian Conservation Corps rustic architecture.The park is mostly unimproved woodland. However, the park contains a small wildlife pond, two playgrounds, three pavilions, one gazebo, open meadows, woods, and numerous hiking and biking trails. Rock Creek flows through the park.

Broadmoor is a neighborhood of 553 homes in central Little Rock, Arkansas, located in the University District. It was developed west of Hayes Street on the western edge of the city beginning in 1953. A portion of the neighborhood lies on land occupied by the former hunting lodge of Raymond Rebsamen. A small lake near the lodge, Rebsamen Lake, was expanded in 1954 and is now known as Broadmoor Lake. The Broadmoor Property Owners Association was formed on April 30, 1954, upon the petition of the developer, E.L. Fausett, of Broadmoor Builders, Inc. Petition to Grant Certificate of Incorporation and Constitution of the Broadmoor Property Owners Association, Book 8, pages 22 through 26 of the Benevolent Association Records of Pulaski County, Arkansas. On September 19, 1978, the City of Little Rock created the Broadmoor Recreational Improvement District Number Two of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. City of Little Rock Ordinance Number 13,510. The District encompasses the entire Broadmoor Addition and has the authority to assess taxes on lots to finance improvements to common areas, such as the park, lake, and clubhouse. Fifty years later, the neighborhood is now in the heart of the city, 10 minutes from just about everything in town. It is across the street from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in the University District, that has grown to be Arkansas's second-largest university. The Little Rock Zoo was founded in 1926 and is located in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. It is home to more than 725 animals representing over 200 species, and covers an area of 33 acres (13 ha). The Arkansas Zoological Foundation is a private 501 c (3) organization that raises funds for zoo development. The Little Rock Zoo is a department of the city of Little Rock. It is the largest zoo in Arkansas, and the only Arkansas zoo accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
