Monte San Bartolo

Pesaro (Italian: [ˈpeːzaro] ; Romagnol: Pés're) is a comune (municipality) in the Italian region of Marche, capital of the province of Pesaro and Urbino, on the Adriatic Sea. According to the 2011 census, its population was 95,011, making it the second most populous city in the Marche, after Ancona. Pesaro was dubbed the "Cycling City" (città della bicicletta) by the Italian environmentalist association Legambiente in recognition of its extensive network of bicycle paths and promotion of cycling. It is also known as "City of Music" (città della musica), for it is the birthplace of the composer Gioachino Rossini. In 2015 the Italian Government applied for Pesaro to be declared a "Creative City" in UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. In 2017 Pesaro received the European City of Sport award together with Aosta, Cagliari and Vicenza. Local industries include fishing, furniture making and tourism. In 2020 it absorbed the former comune of Monteciccardo, now a frazione of Pesaro. Its frazione of Fiorenzuola di Focara is one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia ("The most beautiful villages of Italy").

The Foglia is the northernmost river of the Marche region of Italy. In ancient times it was known as Pisaurus, as it debouched into the Adriatic Sea at Pisaurum (modern Pesaro). It was also known as the Isaurus. The source of the river is west of Sestino in the province of Arezzo (which is in the Tuscany region of Italy) in the Umbrian-Marchean Apennines mountains. It flows east through an extension of the province of Pesaro e Urbino and then back into Arezzo before forming the border between Arezzo and Pesaro e Urbino. The river then flows into the province of Pesaro e Urbino past Piandimeleto and curves northeast and flows past Sassocorvaro before curving east again. The river meanders south of Montecalvo in Foglia before curving northeast and flowing near Colbordolo, Saludecio, Sant'Angelo in Lizzola, Montecchio, Montelabbate and Tavullia before entering the Adriatic Sea near Pesaro. A personification of the river was etched by Simone Cantarini.

The Madonna Del Porto, also known as the Madonna della Scala, is a Neoclassic-style, Roman Catholic church located in Pesaro, region of Marche, Italy. The church was designed in 1822 by Pietro Togni.It is located in a small piazza just outside the walls of the town, leading to the Port. In front there is a small fountain designed by Giovanni Francesco Buonamici of Rimini. The first altar once held a Sant'Ubaldo by Palma il Giovane, now a St Andrew, St Peter, and the fisherman with Christ by an unknown painter; and the second altar, a Visitation by Giovanni Giacomo Pandolfi. The facade has four columns with corinthian capitals, and in the upper portion, a statue of the Virgin and Child with a Scala Coeli and Angels.

The Villa Imperiale of Pesaro is a suburban palatial house outside of Pesaro, built and decorated by artists of the late-Renaissance or Mannerist period. It is now a private residence but the frescoed rooms and elaborate gardens are available for touring.

The Battle of Pesaro was a minor battle in the Neapolitan War that took place on 28 April 1815 in the town of Pesaro. The main Neapolitan army, commanded by their king, Joachim Murat, was retreating to their original headquarters in Ancona following a string a defeats in Northern Italy at the hands of the Germans. The Neapolitans were being pursued by an Austrian corps under the command of Adam Albert von Neipperg. Just like at the Battle of Cesenatico, a vastly outnumbered Austrian raiding party of hussars and jägers once again successfully attacked a Neapolitan garrison of 3,000 men during the night. The Austrians brought out 250 prisoners with only minor casualties whilst inflicting moderate casualties on the garrison, forcing them to flee during the night.

Sant'Agostino is a Roman Catholic church, originally founded in the 13th-century but refurbished in the following centuries, located on Corso XI Settembre in the historic center of Pesaro, region of Marche, Italy.

The Biblioteca Oliveriana is a public library located in the Palazzo Almerici on via Mazza in the town of Pesaro, region of Marche, Italy. It shares the building with the Museo Oliveriano, an archaeology museum with which it shares a common history.

Pesaro railway station (Italian: Stazione di Pesaro) serves the city and comune of Pesaro, in the region of Marche, central Italy. Opened in 1861, it forms part of the Bologna–Ancona railway. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Train services are operated by Trenitalia. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company.

The Oratory of the Nome di Dio is a small 16th-century Roman Catholic church or prayer hall located on via Petrucci 23 in central Pesaro, region of Marche, Italy. The oratory was commissioned in 1577 by the Confraternity of the Name of God, which granted burials to the poor. The external portal, in istrian marble, was designed by Giannandrea Lazzarini in 1763. The highly decorated interiors remain generally intact. The frescoes on the walls and ceilings, depicting a Life of Faith, were completed by Giovanni Giacomo Pandolfi. The main altar once housed a Circumcision of Jesus by Federico Barocci. Near the organ was a portrait of Pandolfi.

Teatro Rossini is the name of an opera house in Pesaro, Italy that serves as a venue for the Rossini Opera Festival. Built as the Teatro Nuovo (on the site of the original 1637 Teatro del Sole), it was inaugurated on 10 June 1818 with a performance of Gioacchino Rossini's La gazza ladra conducted by the composer in the town of his birth. It seats 860, with an auditorium designed in the classic horseshoe shape with four tiers of boxes plus the gallery. The theatre took its present name in the composer's honour in 1854. After a 1930 earthquake it required structural renovations. It re-opened in August 1934 with a performance of Guglielmo Tell. In 1966, however, cracks in the walls and decaying woodwork led to its being declared unsafe, and it was closed for 14 years. It re-opened again on 6 April 1980, the same year as the first Rossini Opera Festival took place. Since then it has been the home of the annual festival, which is held in August. Additional renovations took place in 2002.

The Church of the Santissima Annunziata is a small Baroque church or oratory located on via dell'Annunziata in central Pesaro, region of Marche, Italy. The deconsecrated church was restored in the year 2000, and the building in 2016 was used for cultural exhibitions and events.

The Palazzo Ducale di Pesaro or Ducal Palace of Pesaro is a Renaissance-style palace in the city center of Pesaro, region of the Marche, Italy.
