Glen Allen is a census-designated place (CDP) in Henrico County, Virginia, United States. The population was 16,187 as of the 2020 Census, up from 14,774 at the 2010 census. Areas outside the CDP which use a "Glen Allen" mailing address include residences in neighboring Hanover County.

Walkerton Tavern was built in 1825. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. In 1984 the listing included five contributing buildings and one contributing site.The tavern is owned by the government of Henrico County, Virginia and is used as a community center. It is also available for rental.

The Battle of Yellow Tavern was fought on May 11, 1864, as part of the Overland Campaign of the American Civil War. Union cavalry under Maj. Gen. Philip Sheridan was detached from Grant’s Army of the Potomac to conduct a raid on Richmond, Virginia, and challenged Confederate cavalry commander Maj. Gen. J.E.B. Stuart. The Confederates were outnumbered, and Stuart was mortally wounded. However, Sheridan’s 'sideshow' did not achieve any of its other objectives, and had meanwhile deprived Grant’s army of key cavalry functions at Spotsylvania.

Virginia Center Commons (VCC) was an enclosed shopping mall located in Glen Allen, Virginia, near the state capital of Richmond. Built in 1991, Simon Property Group owned the mall until 2014 when it was split off to Washington Prime Group. In January 2017, the mall was sold again to Kohan Retail Investment Group.

Solomons Store is a small unincorporated community in Henrico County, located where Telegraph Road and Mountain Road fork off of U.S. Route 1.

The Laurel Industrial School Historic District is a 6-acre (2.4 ha) historic district near Laurel, Virginia. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987, at which time it included five contributing buildings.The district may be affected by the DC2RVA high-speed rail proposal.

The Jefferson Davis Highway Marker is a commemorative marker on the Jefferson Davis Highway, in Hanover County, Virginia, near Ashland. It is a 42-inch-high (1.1 m) gray granite stone, with a slanted top, with two bronze plaques. The Jefferson Davis Highway was conceived and marked by the United Daughters of the Confederacy, as a counter to the Lincoln Highway in the north, during 1913–1925. In that era, named highways were being marked as automobile travel increased, and the advent of numbered highways eventually loomed. The marker was placed at the junction of what is now US Route 1 and Cedar Lane (Virginia Route 623), between Richmond and Ashland, in 1927. It has been moved twice: in the 1970s it was moved to accommodate the widening of Route 1, and it was moved across Route 1 in the 1980s.The marker is one of a number of markers studied in a National Park Service study, UDC Commemorative Highway Markers along the Jefferson Davis Highway in Virginia.

Laurel is a census-designated place (CDP) in western Henrico County, Virginia. The population was 16,713 at the 2010 United States Census. It is the county seat of Henrico County. It is the location of the Laurel Skate Park. The bowl was recently filled in with smooth concrete and the vertical ramp removed to make way for safer amenities.Laurel is the location of the Laurel Industrial School Historic District.

Meadow Farm is a historic farm and estate in Henrico County, Virginia. It is best known for its role in Gabriel's Revolution. The main farmhouse was built in the early nineteenth century and is a well preserved example of small Virginia farms of the time. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The property is now owned and operated by Henrico County as the Meadow Farm Museum.

The Bloemendaal House, originally the Lakeside Wheel Club, is a clubhouse in Richmond, Virginia originally built by Lewis Ginter in 1895.Around 1911, after the "cycle" fell out of vogue, Ginter's niece, Grace Arents, converted the structure into a convalescent home for poor children suffering from tuberculosis and other city-borne illnesses. She remodeled the building and had a second story added. After the founding of the Instructional Visiting Nurses Association, the convalescent home was no longer needed. In 1913, Grace Arents transformed it into a home for herself and her companion, Mary Garland Smith. Grace Arents named the place Bloemendaal, in homage to the Ginter family's Dutch ancestors (Bloemendaal means "valley of flowers" and she planted gardens on the property). Grace Arents died in 1926 and left the property to the City of Richmond, with the stipulation that after Smith died it was to be developed into a botanical garden honoring Lewis Ginter. Smith died in 1968 on her 97th birthday.The city of Richmond took possession of the property, but it languished. Later, the property and its gardens were rescued by botanists, horticulturists and passionate citizens, who formed the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, Inc. Now, the Bloemendaal House is part of the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.

GreenCity Arena is a proposed multi-purpose entertainment and sports arena located near Richmond, Virginia. The GreenCity Arena is the tentative name of a planned 17,000-seat indoor arena being built near Richmond, on the site of the former Best Products headquarters location.

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is a 50 acres (200,000 m2), botanical garden in Henrico County, just outside of Richmond, Virginia. It features over a dozen themed gardens, a conservatory, library, and café. Regular daily admission is $17 for adults, $14 for seniors, $8 for children (age 3–12), under age 3 are free. Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is part of the Museums for All program offering $1 adult admission (free for kids) and $5 annual membership to those with a SNAP/EBT card. Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden also hosts select days, typically July 4 and Labor Day, where admission is free to the community. Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden offers an indoor butterfly exhibit Butterflies LIVE!, seasonal exhibitions, art exhibitions, special events and seasonal evening hours with live music. Tours, classes and select special events typically have an additional fee.
