Balsam Lake Provincial Park

The Township of Bexley (Population 1305 c.1996) was a municipality located in the northern half of the former Victoria County, now the city of Kawartha Lakes, in the Canadian province of Ontario.

Balsam Lake is a lake in the City of Kawartha Lakes in Central Ontario, Canada. It is in the Great Lakes Basin, is one of the lakes of the Kawartha Lakes, and is at the summit of the Trent–Severn Waterway.

The Gull River is a river in Algonquin Highlands and Dysart et al, Haliburton County and the single-tier municipality of Kawartha Lakes in south-central Ontario, Canada. It is in the Trent River and Lake Ontario drainage basins, and flows from southern Algonquin Provincial Park to Balsam Lake on the Trent–Severn Waterway.

St. Mary's was the site of a planned village within early Victoria County, in the Canadian province of Ontario. The site was laid aside in the surveying of the county in the 1830s, but was later found to be unusable when limestone was discovered two inches below the ground. Today its site marks one end of a man-made canal between Balsam Lake and Lake Simcoe, part of the Trent-Severn Waterway.

Coboconk, often shortened to Coby, is a community in the city of Kawartha Lakes, in the south-central portion of the Canadian province of Ontario. The village lies at the junction of Highway 35 and former Highway 48, on the northern tip of Balsam Lake, the highest point on the Trent–Severn Waterway. Coboconk has a prominent role in the logging, limestone, and tourism industries of the Kawartha Lakes region over the past 150 years.

Rosedale is a Dispersed Rural Community and unincorporated place located in the city of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, Canada, 29 kilometres (18 mi) north-west of Lindsay. It is partly in geographic Fenelon Township and partly in Somerville Township, and is on the Rosedale River, part of the Trent–Severn Waterway, where that river drains Balsam Lake on its way to Cameron Lake.Trent–Severn Waterway Lock 35 "Rosedale", completed in 1873 thus allowing boats to traverse between Cameron and Balsam Lakes, is on the Rosedale River just east of the community, and Ontario Highway 35 crosses over the river at Rosedale. Rosedale was for a time named Rosa Dale, after the wife of settler John Cameron, who first settled the area now known as Fenelon FallsThe population of Rosedale is roughly 500.

The Staples River is a river in Kawartha Lakes in Central Ontario, Canada. It is in the Great Lakes Basin and is a tributary of Balsam Lake. The river is 18 kilometres (11 mi) long and has a watershed of 4,792 hectares (11,840 acres).The river begins at an unnamed confluence of streams, northwest of the community of Grasshill in geographic Eldon Township, and flows northeast to its mouth at the West Bay on Balsam Lake in geographic Fenelon Township, at the summit of the Trent–Severn Waterway.

Silver Lake is a small lake in the city of Kawartha Lakes in Central Ontario, Canada. Located near the community of Coboconk, it is the lowest lake on the Gull River, a drainage basin that supplies water at its mouth to Balsam Lake at the top of the Trent-Severn Waterway. Like many other lakes in the Kawarthas, Silver Lake lies in a depression formed between the Precambrian granite to the north, and the Ordovician limestone to the south.

Victoria Road is an unincorporated community in the Canadian province of Ontario, located within the single-tier municipality of Kawartha Lakes. The village was built around a station on the Toronto and Nipissing Railway, which was constructed in 1872 where the line crossed Victoria Colonization Road (today Kawartha Lakes Road 35), which was built between 1859 and 1861, named after the county that was named after Queen Victoria, and passes through the village. For a time, the village was known as "The City of Peace" and "The Road." The station—the second last on the line—served the community and area until the last train passed through in 1965, after which the tracks were lifted. Victoria Road is located on the north-eastern tip of Mitchell Lake. Like most of the surrounding area, the soil is extremely thin, at times less than 2 inches (5 cm) thick, resulting in very little farmland in the area. At the peak of the village, it contained several small industries and three hotels.An 1881 survey map lists it as the village of Bexley, with the railroad station listed as Victoria Road Station.
