Little Lake Cemetery is a non-denominational cemetery located in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. It opened in 1850 and is located on the southern shore of Little Lake.

The Art Gallery of Peterborough is a free admission, non-profit public art gallery in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. A registered charity that depends on the support of its members, it was founded in 1974 by an independent board of volunteers. In 1977 it was given the Foster House by the City of Peterborough, a historical residence set in parkland beside Little Lake. In 1979 The gallery expanded to its current size of 11,000 square feet (1,000 m2) with the construction of its modernist wing designed by Crang & Boake architects. The collection presently numbers over 1,300 pieces. In addition to its permanent collection and exhibitions, the gallery offers many educational programs for adults and children. There is also a gift shop featuring a variety of works by local and national artisans. The acquisition program is funded by private donations and matching grants from the Canada Council. Annual operating and management costs are provided by the Ontario Arts Council, the Canada Council for the Arts, and community fundraising efforts. The Peterborough municipal government provides a grant to cover building maintenance and landscaping. The gallery is a member of the Ontario Association of Art Galleries.Prominent Canadian artists with works in the collection include David Bierk, Ron Bloore, Ivan Eyre, Jack Shadbolt, and Bill Vazan.

Sacred Heart Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. The Romanesque Revival building designed by prominent local architect John E. Belcher was completed in 1909. Sacred Heart offers the Traditional Latin Mass. The church's Casavant Frères organ has been declared a historic treasure by the Royal Canadian College of Organists.

The Peterborough Summer Festival of Lights, later renamed Peterborough Musicfest, is a non-profit, charitable organization in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, which hosts a series of free outdoor concerts. Jackson Creek is a creek in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Great Lakes Basin, and flows to its mouth at Little Lake as a right tributary of the Otonabee River. The Otonabee flows via the Trent River to Lake Ontario. In 1963 the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority received a grant for construction of a dam on Jackson Creek. The creek overflowed in July 2004, causing extensive damage.

Little Lake is a small lake on the Otonabee River in the city of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. The lake is in the downtown of the city and is used for fishing, swimming, boating, and for various special events. The lake lies on the water route from Lake Ontario to the Kawartha Lakes. The area around the lake was first settled by Europeans around the start of the 19th century. Steam- and water-powered saw mills were built on the lake and on the river upstream to prepare lumber for shipment overseas. Sawdust and other debris from the mills polluted the lake, killed the fish and clogged up the navigable channels. The smell was so noxious it drove residents near the lake to move. These problems were resolved by the end of the century, when the lake became a hub on the new Trent-Severn Waterway from Lake Ontario to Lake Huron. However, industries attracted by cheap hydroelectric power, such as General Electric used the lake for disposal of industrial chemicals for many years. The pollutants seems to be mostly contained in the sediment, and the lake is now considered safe for recreational use.

Kenner Collegiate Vocational Institute (Kenner CVI) is the oldest operating public high school in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. It opened in 1952 and is now an accredited International Baccalaureate School. It is named after Peterborough Collegiate Institute's quinquagenary teacher and principal Dr. H.R.H. Kenner, father of literary scholar Hugh Kenner.

Market Hall is a commercial building and performing arts centre in the downtown core of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Originally built as the city's market hall, it has housed a variety of tenants since and has been home to the Market Hall Performing Arts Centre since 1998. Market Hall is the work of prominent local architect John E. Belcher in the Italianate style and is one of few surviving 19th-century market halls in Ontario. The clock town is a local landmark. The building is designated by the City of Peterborough under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act by By-Law 1977-78 as being of cultural heritage value or interest.

Lansdowne Place is a shopping mall located in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Opened in 1980, the mall has over 105 stores and services. It is located at 645 Lansdowne Street West in the city's south end.

Peterborough Transit is the public transport operator for the City of Peterborough, Ontario, & Township of Selwyn, Ontario. The majority of their system consists of ten main routes within the urban area of Peterborough. There are three community bus routes that serve businesses and seniors homes. There are two Selwyn "The Link" routes that connects the towns of Curve Lake, Lakefield, Ennismore, & Bridgenorth to Trent University. For those who are physically unable to use the regular transit bus there is a special Handi-Van paratransit service. The main & community routes cost $2.75, trans-cab costs $3.50, and Selwyn "The link" routes cost $8 per trip.
