The Peterborough Public Library is a public library system in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

Peterborough Transit is the public transport operator for the City of Peterborough, Ontario, & Township of Selwyn, Ontario. The majority of their system consists of ten main routes within the urban area of Peterborough. There are three community bus routes that serve businesses and seniors homes. There are two Selwyn "The Link" routes that connects the towns of Curve Lake, Lakefield, Ennismore, & Bridgenorth to Trent University. For those who are physically unable to use the regular transit bus there is a special Handi-Van paratransit service. The main & community routes cost $2.75, trans-cab costs $3.50, and Selwyn "The link" routes cost $8 per trip.

The Union Theatre was a theatre in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada that existed from 1989 to 1996. The theatre was established by local theatre artists in 1989. It served as an arts collective serving local and regional theatre, visual arts and musical artists with a focus on helping emerging artists find a place to showcase their talents. The space was primarily a performance space "black box" style theatre but often played host to a variety of performance and installation works. As a "collective" the space was run by a revolving membership of artists, some of whom have gone on to open larger, more mainstream theatres in Canada, including Robert Winslow, one of the space's founding members who in 1991 started Fourth Line Theatre in Millbrook, Ontario.

St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church is an Anglican church in downtown Peterborough, Ontario. It is considered one of the earliest stone Anglican churches of Gothic design in Canada. It is recognized for its heritage value by the City of Peterborough Bylaw 1977–78.

Peterborough City Hall is the seat of municipal government of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. It is a 2+1⁄2-storey building, located at 500 George Street North, across the street from Confederation Park, the Drill Hall and Armouries and Peterborough Collegiate. The complex consists of two buildings: the City Hall built in 1951 and the former Carnegie Library built in 1911.

PACE at Peterborough Collegiate, formerly Peterborough Collegiate Vocational School, is a public secondary school located in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada and is a member of the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board. It is one of the oldest public schools in the country and was the only public high school in the city of Peterborough until the opening of Kenner Collegiate Vocational Institute in 1952. Regular student programming ended at Peterborough Collegiate Vocational School in June 2012. The building was renamed Peterborough Collegiate and in August 2012 opened as a re-purposed facility offering alternative and continuing education (ACE).Peterborough Collegiate was founded in 1827 as the Peterborough Government School on the former property of Central Public School. Since then it has been moved to different locations throughout the central part of the city with various names and types of programming. It reached its peak enrollment in 1959 with 1402 students and used additional buildings to accommodate the students of the baby boom. At the turn of the twenty-first century, the trend of declining enrollment had reduced the school student population to 800 students with approximately one third in the Integrated Arts and English Language Learners programs.

Emmanuel United Church is a church located in the downtown core of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Originally Methodist, since 1925 it has belonged to the United Church of Canada. The church was built between 1873 and 1875, with the tower being completed in 1891, and was designed by Henry Langley in the Gothic Revival style. It is designated under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act by the City of Peterborough By-Law 1990-204 as being of cultural heritage value or interest.The congregation is an amalgamation of George Street United Church (formerly George Street Methodist Church), which has worshiped at this site since 1875, and St. Andrew's United Church (formerly St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church). After the 2016 amalgamation, they alternated between the two church buildings until St. Andrew's was sold in 2017 and now meet solely at the George Street building.

Jackson Creek is a creek in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Great Lakes Basin, and flows to its mouth at Little Lake as a right tributary of the Otonabee River. The Otonabee flows via the Trent River to Lake Ontario. In 1963 the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority received a grant for construction of a dam on Jackson Creek. The creek overflowed in July 2004, causing extensive damage.

The Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chains is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Peterborough, Ontario, and one of the oldest Catholic churches in Ontario. It is located at 411 Reid Street in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. St. Peter's was designed by James Chevette in the Gothic Revival style. It was elevated to a cathedral in 1882.

Trinity United Church was a church located in downtown Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Originally Methodist, from 1925, the church belonged to the United Church of Canada. The church was built between 1914 and 1916 in the Gothic Revival style by Edmund Burke. The church closed and the congregation disbanded on 12 June 2022.

The Peterborough Summer Festival of Lights, later renamed Peterborough Musicfest, is a non-profit, charitable organization in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, which hosts a series of free outdoor concerts. In 2015, Peterborough Musicfest was recognized as a Top 100 Festival and Event in Ontario. The concerts are held at Del Crary Park, located in the downtown on George Street, adjacent to Little Lake.

The Art Gallery of Peterborough is a free admission, non-profit public art gallery in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. A registered charity that depends on the support of its members, it was founded in 1974 by an independent board of volunteers. In 1977 it was given the Foster House by the City of Peterborough, a historical residence set in parkland beside Little Lake. In 1979 The gallery expanded to its current size of 11,000 square feet (1,000 m2) with the construction of its modernist wing designed by Crang & Boake architects. The collection presently numbers over 1,300 pieces. In addition to its permanent collection and exhibitions, the gallery offers many educational programs for adults and children. There is also a gift shop featuring a variety of works by local and national artisans. The acquisition program is funded by private donations and matching grants from the Canada Council. Annual operating and management costs are provided by the Ontario Arts Council, the Canada Council for the Arts, and community fundraising efforts. The Peterborough municipal government provides a grant to cover building maintenance and landscaping. The gallery is a member of the Ontario Association of Art Galleries.Prominent Canadian artists with works in the collection include David Bierk, Ron Bloore, Ivan Eyre, Jack Shadbolt, and Bill Vazan.
