The Dement House, also known as Colonial Acres, is a historic house in Lascassas, Tennessee, U.S.. It was first built as a log cabin by Abner Dement, the son of a French immigrant and slaveholder, in 1817. When Abner was murdered by one of his slaves in 1825, the cabin was inherited by his son John, who lived here with his wife Christine Overall. The couple hired Arch Hite to turn the cabin into a two-story house with a portico designed in the Greek Revival architectural style in 1833. The house has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since June 25, 1986.

Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned MBT by the FAA, but has no designation from the IATA (which assigned MBT to Masbate Airport in the Philippines).It is the home of the Middle Tennessee State University Aerospace Department, which has one of the largest university Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative (AT-CTI) programs in the country, and their aircraft and simulators. Aircraft owned by MTSU include 30 Diamond DA40s, a Diamond DA20, five Piper PA-44 Seminoles, a Piper PA-18 Super Cub, a de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver, and a Beechcraft King Air 350.The Murfreesboro Municipal Airport is one of the only general aviation airports in the State of Tennessee that does not receive tax payer money. The money used to maintain the airport is entirely generated by leases and fuel sales.In 2007 the airport won the Tennessee Airport of the Year award.

The population was 401 at the 2010 census.Walterhill is the site of the 34-acre (140,000 m2) Walterhill Floodplain State Natural Area, established to support a rare plant species found in the Stones River floodplain, the Stones River bladderpod (Paysonia stonensis). Walterhill is best known in the local area for being the site of Allied Waste Industries' Middle Point landfill.

Evergreen Cemetery is a 90-acre (36 ha) cemetery located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The cemetery began as a slave cemetery until its owner Dr. James Maney (the owner of Oaklands Plantation), deeded a 20-acre (8.1 ha) portion of his land to the city of Murfreesboro in 1872 to replace the "Old City Cemetery" which is located near downtown Murfreesboro. The cemetery is the final burial place for many notable people from Tennessee and the grounds are home to centuries old maple, oak and magnolia trees. Some of the trees pre-date the cemetery and a number of the headstones are more than 140 years old.Evergreen Cemetery is governed by a 34-member board of directors and its current chair is John Rucker Jr. who has served on the board for over 24 years.It is located at 519 Greenland Drive. Tours of the cemetery, presented by Oaklands Mansion, are also held each year.
