Cheongnyangni-dong

Cheongnyangni Station (청량리역) is a major train station located at Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It serves as a terminus for passenger trains serving the eastern part of South Korea. KTX, ITX-Cheongchun, and Mugunghwa-ho trains terminates or stops at this station. Several Seoul Metropolitan Subway lines serve the station. These are: Seoul Subway Line 1, the Gyeongchun Line, the Suin-Bundang Line and the Gyeongui-Jungang Line. The Gyeongchun Line extended from Sangbong Station to Cheongnyangni Station in September 2016, offering a transfer to Line 1, although only some services terminate here, with others terminating at Sangbong. A physical transfer between underground and aboveground stations opened on 20 August 2010.Passenger trains serving the following Korail lines terminate at Cheongnyangni Station: The Yeongdong Line and Taebaek Line to Gangneung, in Gangwon Province; The Jungang Line to Andong in North Gyeongsang Province and Busan, to the southeast of Seoul.In addition, this station is served by all ITX trains to/from Chuncheon Station on the Gyeongchun Line. However, the majority of trains do not terminate at this station but continue to Yongsan Station.

The Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) is an advanced research institute in South Korea. It is located on a 30-acre (12 ha) campus in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul.KIAS was founded in 1996, aiming to become a world leading research institute where international elite scholars gather and dedicate to fundamental research in basic sciences. Currently, there are three schools in the institute: mathematics, physics, and computational sciences. As of 2016, the institute has 3 distinguished professors, 26 professors, and 133 research fellows.As its name suggests, the institute was modeled after the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, USA. KIAS is funded by the government and is a subordinate institute of KAIST.

Korea University Business School (hereafter called KUBS) is the business school of Korea University in Seoul, South Korea. KUBS was the first university department in Korea not only to open its doors to business studies but also to introduce western-style business studies to Korea. The school offers an undergraduate program, full-time and part-time MBA programs, MS/PhD programs, as well as few other non-degree programs. KUBS received Korea's first accreditation from AACSB in 2005 and EQUIS in 2007, respectively.

Hongneung Arboretum (Hangul:홍릉수목원 Hanja: 洪陵樹木園) is an arboretum in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, served by Seoul Subway Line 6. The grounds are freely open to the public on weekend, but picnics are not allowed.

Cheongnyangni 588 was a red-light district in Seoul, South Korea near Cheongnyangni station. At its peak in the 1980s it housed 200 brothels and 500 prostitutes, and was the largest red-light district in Seoul. Cheongnyangni is often referred to as "Oh Pal Pal", meaning "five eight eight" in Korean possibly due to a bus which once passed through the area.

Hoegi Station is a station on Seoul Subway Line 1, Gyeongchun Line and the Gyeongui-Jungang Line. The two island platforms are side-by-side with each other, and are connected by an overpass. This is the closest station to Kyunghee University, located northwest of here.

Gyeongdong Market or Kyungdong Market, located in Dongdaemun District, Seoul, is one of the largest herbal medicine and ginseng markets of South Korea. Since its establishment in 1960, the market supplies 70 percent of the nation's herbal medicine ingredients and has more than 1,000 related shops and oriental medicine clinics in the area. Gyeongdong Market also serves as a wholesale and retail markets selling agricultural products and fish in about 300,000 square meters, about five times the size of the Seoul Sangam World Cup Stadium.It is served by Seoul Subway's Jegi-dong Station on Line 1.

The Graduate Institute of Peace Studies (GIP) was established in 1984 with the aim of training potential world leaders to possess a vision of a new global civil society, and are committed to the promotion of peace and human welfare. GIP is a constituent graduate school at Kyung Hee University. In recognition of the GIP's contribution to international peace efforts, the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education was awarded to GIP in 1993. This station is located in front of the main entrance of Korea University.City of Seoul has a plan to develop campus town in front of main entrance of Korea University. Furthermore, new commercial districts will be constructed between Korea University Station and Anam Station. This district is expected to be a fresh and active campus town.
