Florida, Gauteng

Florida Hills is a suburb of Johannesburg in Gauteng Province, South Africa. It lies to the northwest of downtown Johannesburg and north of Soweto. It is a suburb of Roodepoort.

Florida Glen is a small, primarily residential suburb on the eastern edge of the city of Roodepoort. The N1 Freeway runs through Florida Glen, and intersects at the Gordon Road offramp. The main road through Florida Glen was Lange Ave, until the building of the N1 Freeway in the 1980s, which diverted traffic onto the busy Gordon Road. Hendrik Potgieter Road also passes through Florida Glen. Florida Glen is flanked by Quellerina to the north and Delarey to the south, Bergbron and Northcliff to the east, and Florida Hills, and Newlands to the west. For many years its residents were Afrikaans- and English-speaking white middle-class families. In the 1990s and following it became an attractive suburb for black, coloured and indian middle-class families from nearby Coronation, Newlands, Soweto and Lenasia, as it is easily accessible from the city and the N1 Freeway. Florida Glen has no schools of its own, and there are few churches and community centres - notably the NG Kerk Florida Glen which is visible from the Western Bypass, with its large steel spire. In the early 1980s a small shopping mall was built at the intersection of Lange Avenue and Gordon Road called "the Glen". It houses a number of small community shops including a Spar, liquor store, green-grocer, DVD-rental store and hardware store.

Constantia Kloof is a suburb of Johannesburg in Roodepoort, South Africa. It borders the suburbs of Strubens Valley, Weltevreden Park, Helderkruin and Allen's Nek, and is considered one of the more scenic and upmarket suburbs in the Western Johannesburg, especially within its boom-controlled area. Some of the best views over Johannesburg can be seen from the Constantia Kloof houses and apartments along Constantia Drive and Panorama Road. The area has become very popular since the opening of the Clearwater Mall.

Weltevredenpark is a suburb of Roodepoort, South Africa adjacent to Johannesburg. It is situated roughly between Beyers Naudé Drive and Hendrik Potgieter Street. Being one of the older suburbs in the North of Johannesburg, it is well established, although keeping up with the area's current high growth rate has been a problem for developers and residents. From any point in Weltevredenpark one can get to Clearwater Mall in a drive of less than 10 minutes - assuming no traffic.

The Parish of Weltevreden Park is represented solely by St. Michael and All Angels' Anglican Church. It is located at 1123 Cornelius Street. The Parish of Weltevreden Park is a parish of the Anglican Diocese of Johannesburg, part of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa. Weltevreden Park is one of the western suburbs of Johannesburg.

Union Stadium is a municipal multi-sports facility situated in Westbury, Johannesburg, South Africa. It is mostly used for football matches.

Berario is a suburb of Johannesburg, in the South African province of Gauteng. It is located in Region 4. It is located just below Northcliff Hill and close to Cresta Shopping Centre, one of the biggest malls in South Africa.

Fairland is a residential suburb in northern Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. The area is neighboured by Northcliff, Cresta and Darrenwood and is one of the most leafy suburbs in the city. Fairland was developed on land that was originally a farm called Weltevreden. Statistics indicate that Fairland has some of the lowest crime statistics within Johannesburg.

Meadowlands is a suburb of Soweto, Gauteng Province, South Africa. It was founded in the early 1950s during the apartheid era for black residents from Sophiatown.
