Winston Churchill Avenue is the most important avenue of the central polygon of the National District in the Dominican Republic. This avenue contains the main shopping centres and businesses of Santo Domingo, in addition to attractions and cultural zones, between them in the east is "The Boulevard of the stars", inspired by the Walk of the Fame of Hollywood. The avenue carries the name of the former British prime minister Sir Winston Churchill. The avenue extends 2.4 kilometres from the intersection of the Avenue 27 February until the intersection of the Duarte Highway to the level of 6.5 km, and previously extended from the intersection with the George Washington Avenue having a length of 4.6 km from its start in the Duarte Highway. Nowadays, the stray stretch of 2.6 Kilometres is called Avenue Enrique Jiménez Moya, although the Dominicans never adopted this name and follow it as The Churchill.
