The Art Institute of Houston was a private for-profit art school in Houston, Texas. It is owned by Education Principle Foundation. Founded in 1965 as the Houston School of Commercial Art, the school joined The Art Institutes system of schools in 1978 and moved to its current facility in 1990. All Art Institute schools closed on September 30, 2023.The Art Institute of Houston was one of two locations of The Art Institutes system in Texas and was accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

The Consulate General of Sweden, Houston was the diplomatic mission of Sweden in Houston between 1963 and 1981. The consulate general originated from the consulate opened in 1950, which was converted into a consulate general in 1963. The consulate general tasks was to advance the interests of Sweden, and to serve and protect Swedes in Houston and different states in the Southern United States. Along with those in Chicago, Minneapolis, New York City, San Francisco, and Montreal, the consulate general belonged to the so-called "heritage consulates" due to the large number of inheritance cases it handled. The consulate general's district comprised not only the city of Houston but also the states of Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and the Florida panhandle. Between the years 1971 and 1977, there was no appointed consul general. In 1978, the consulate general was reopened but was shut down only three years later. Since 1983, a Swedish honorary consulate general has been operating in Houston.

2000 St. James Place is a 12-story, 335,000 square foot (31,100 m2) office building in Houston, Texas. It formerly housed the headquarters of Minute Maid. The building is located on a 6 acres (2.4 ha) site, and is in proximity to The Galleria.

Tanglewood is an affluent neighborhood in western Houston, Texas, located off San Felipe Road.Tanglewood is located just outside the 610 Loop and inside Beltway 8 in the Uptown Houston area. Tanglewood was developed by the Tanglewood Corporation. Today the neighborhood is managed by the Tanglewood Homes Association. In 1997 Bob Tutt of the Houston Chronicle said that Tanglewood is "a leafy, upscale subdivision". Barbara and George H. W. Bush were longtime Tanglewood residents.

Four Leaf Towers is a high-rise residential complex located in Houston, Texas, United States, on San Felipe Street adjacent to the Uptown Houston district. They were designed by architect Cesar Pelli.

Uptown (more commonly called The Galleria Area) is a business district in Houston, located 6.2 miles (10.0 km) west of Downtown and is centered along Post Oak Boulevard and Westheimer Road (Farm to Market Road 1093). The Uptown District is roughly bounded by Woodway Drive to the north, the I-610 (West Loop) to the east, Richmond Avenue to the south, and Yorktown Street to the west. It covers 1,010 acres (410 ha).At 23.6 million square feet (2.19 million square meters) of office space, the Uptown District is the 17th-largest business district in the United States, comparable in size to the downtowns of Denver and Pittsburgh. The district is home to approximately 2,000 companies and represents more than 11 percent of Houston's total office space.

BLVD Place is a mixed-use development located in Uptown Houston, Houston, Texas, United States, encompassing 20 acres at the intersection of Post Oak Boulevard and San Felipe. The development is the largest in Uptown with over 1.8 million square feet with 124,644 sq ft (11,579.8 m2) of retail space and 92,234 sq ft (8,568.8 m2) of office space. BLVD Place is home to Whole Foods Market and numerous upscale shops, boutiques, and restaurants. Phase II of the development contains about 211,000 sq ft (19,600 m2) of retail, restaurant, and office space, and is 99.9% leased. Phase I, including 70,000 sq ft (6,500 m2) of retail and office space, was completed in 2009. It is located on the former site of a strip mall and a 1972 mall originally called the Saks Fifth Avenue Center of Fashion (later "Pavilion at Post Oak").

Thomas Horace Rogers School is an alternative primary and secondary public school and part of the Houston Independent School District. The school is at 5840 San Felipe in Houston, Texas, United States, outside of the 610 Loop and inside Beltway 8, west of Uptown Houston. T. H. Rogers serves gifted and talented students in the Vanguard program from kindergarten through eighth grade, deaf students from pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade, and multiply impaired students from age 3 through 12th grade. The school previously served deaf students from pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade, but the program ended prior to the start of the 2021-2022 school year.

San Felipe Plaza is a 46-story tower west of the Uptown Houston district in Houston, Texas, United States. Designed by architect Richard Keating, the building was constructed in 1984 by Linbeck Construction Corporation and contains 959,466 square feet (89,137.3 m2) of leaseable space. The building is the 16th tallest in the city and is the second-tallest building outside of Downtown Houston. It is 2 miles from the Houston Galleria.

Post Oak Central is a skyscraper complex in Uptown Houston, Texas, United States.The 17-acre (69,000 m2) Philip Johnson-designed complex includes three 24-story buildings, 1 Post Oak Central (2000 Post Oak Boulevard), 2 Post Oak Central (1980 Post Oak Boulevard), and 3 Post Oak Central (1990 Post Oak Boulevard), and a parking garage. The complex includes 1,300,000 square feet (120,000 m2) of Class A office space and retail. The complex includes a 90,000-square-foot (8,400 m2) retail center and parking for 4,200 cars.

The Four Corners Office/Retail Complex is an office complex in Uptown Houston, Texas. The complex, with a total of 395,473 square feet (36,740.6 m2) of office space and 28,290 square feet (2,628 m2) of retail space, sits on 7.5 acres (3.0 ha) of land. The buildings include the 11 story TeleCheck Plaza, the 10 story 5333 Westheimer Road, the 21,120 square feet (1,962 m2) retail tenant building Sage Plaza, the single story 8,800 square feet (820 m2) Savoy Salons, and a 3,892 square feet (361.6 m2) single story Region's Bank with a drive-through. The complex is located at the southwest corner of Westheimer Road and Sage, taking one full square block across the street from The Galleria.

Four Oaks Place is a complex of skyscrapers in Uptown Houston, Texas, United States. Managed by CBRE, the complex includes the 420 ft (128 m) 1330 Post Oak Boulevard (sometimes referred to as the Aon Building), the 25-story 351 ft (107m) BHP Billiton Tower (1360 Post Oak Boulevard), Wells Fargo Tower (1300 Post Oak Boulevard), and the Interfin Building (1400 Post Oak Boulevard). The buildings were designed by Cesar Pelli & Associates Architects.
