University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine is a school of dentistry located at the UConn Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut, United States. The school is often placed highly in national rankings, and was ranked #1 by the National Board Dental Examiners in 2001 based on the board scores of students. During the 2013-2014 application year, approximately 1,300 applications were received. Of these, 160 were interviewed and offers were eventually made to approximately 80, for an acceptance rate of around 6%.

The Department of Periodontology is a division of the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine Department of Oral Health and Diagnostic Sciences. It carries out research and offers training for pre-doctoral and postgraduate students.

The University of Connecticut School of Medicine is a medical school located in Farmington, Connecticut. It was founded in 1961, enrolled students in 1968, and graduated its first class in 1972.The school is part of UConn Health, along with the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and John Dempsey Hospital. UConn Health is also a renowned biomedical research center, specializing in genetics, aging, orthopaedics and neurology/neurosurgery. In 2012, Dr. Cato Laurencin’s research on ACL tissue regeneration was named one of National Geographic’s 100 Scientific Discoveries That Changed the World.

Batterson Park is a public park owned by the City of Hartford, Connecticut, though located outside the city limits within the nearby towns of New Britain, CT, and Farmington. It includes a large pond with a state-managed boat launch. The pond was formerly used as reservoir managed by the City Water Department, and became a park sometime after 1928, when the water department turned over the disused land to the city. Parts of the land were sold or transferred for private development and highway construction in the time since, including 67 acres sold in 1988 to establish the Hartford Parks Trust Fund. Approximately 600 acres remain.Approximately 46% of the parkland owned by the City of Hartford is located outside of its jurisdiction, with the majority of that land comprising Batterson Park. The city is exploring options to create a regional partnership with neighboring towns to share maintenance costs. The town of Farmington has also approached the city to purchase the remaining parcels of Batterson Park, having purchased a portion in 2003. In 2015, the city closed the park to the public due to the expense of maintenance and operation amidst larger budget troubles.In 2017, Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin proposed transferring land associated with Batterson Park to the city pension fund in 2017 in lieu of a payment of $5,000,000, according to the Hartford Courant, although the land would easily sell for more than $100,000,000 if it was sold for residential use. In 2017, 86 acres of vacant residential-zoned land at 8261 FIENEMANN RD was transferred to the pension fund. This same plot of city-owned land near the park was proposed for sale in 1997 to a developer, however that plan fell through. The pension fund has not indicated whether it intends to maintain the land as a public park, or develop the lot for commercial and/or residential purposes. As of August 2019, the remainder of the shuttered parkland (located on Batterson Park Road) remains under city ownership.In 2021, the state appropriated $10 Million to the City of Hartford to clean up and rebuilt amenities at Batterson Park. The neighboring towns of New Britain and Farmington, as well as volunteers with the newly formed Batterson Park Conservancy, have pledge to aid in future maintenance. The park was set to reopen in 2023 after renovations are complete. This was revised to a completion date of 2025 on March 23, 2023. On March 23, 2023 Hartford, Farmington and New Britain leaders along with Connecticut Speaker of the House Matt Ritter announced a plan to transfer Batterson Park to the state at a press conference in the Capitol in Hartford. If approved the Hartford-owned park would become a state park. The local leaders and House speaker will be looking into using existing statutory frameworks to have the state take over the property.

WLAT (910 AM; "La Mega") is a radio station licensed to New Britain, Connecticut and serves the Hartford market. WLAT currently airs a Spanish pop music format. Owned by Gois Broadcasting, WLAT broadcasts from studios located on Burnside Avenue in East Hartford, while its transmitter array is located behind the Connecticut School of Broadcasting on Birdseye Road in Farmington (also known as "Radio Park"). The station also operates translator W269DE (101.7 FM) in New Britain.

The West Hartford Reservoir recreation area is located on the western edge of West Hartford, Connecticut and 2.5 miles (4.0 km) northeast of Farmington, Connecticut. There are six large reservoirs along the eastern part of the park and a paved cycling trail that winds through the southern portion. The blue-blazed Metacomet Trail follows the highest ridge of the area and the network of trails throughout the area has led this to be a local mecca for mountain bikers, hikers, and trail-runners. The western edge is marked by Deer Cliff, a high rocky ledge that runs for about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north-south. The Deer Cliff ledges have a long tradition of climbing routes for local mountaineers, but at this time the private access to the cliff base has been closed to the public. The Revolutionary War Campsite historical site is located near reservoir #6. The property is owned by the Metropolitan District (The MDC), a non-profit municipal corporation chartered by the Connecticut General Assembly in 1929 to provide water and sewer services to the Hartford region.In 2010 Travel and Leisure magazine described the Reservoir as "West Hartford’s version of Central Park” with nearly 30 miles of trail.

Hill–Stead Museum is a Colonial Revival house and art museum set on a large estate at 35 Mountain Road in Farmington, Connecticut. It is best known for its French Impressionist masterpieces, architecture, and stately grounds. The property was designated a National Historic Landmark as a nationally significant example of Colonial Revival architecture, built in 1901 to designs that were the result of a unique collaboration between Theodate Pope Riddle, one of the United States' first female architects, and the renowned firm of McKim, Mead & White. The house was built for Riddle's father, Alfred Atmore Pope, and the art collection it houses was collected by Pope and Riddle.

The Stanley-Woodruff-Allen House is a historic house at 37 Buena Vista Road in West Hartford, Connecticut. Built about 1752, it is one of West Hartford's oldest surviving buildings. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It is now part of the suite of buildings of the West Hartford Art League.

Farmington Mountain, 502 feet (153 m), is a traprock ridge located 9 miles (14 km) southwest of Hartford, Connecticut, in the town of Farmington. It is part of the narrow, linear Metacomet Ridge that extends from Long Island Sound near New Haven, Connecticut, north through the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts to the Vermont border. Farmington Mountain is known for its microclimate ecosystems, rare plant communities, and for the historic Hill-Stead Museum. Farmington Mountain is traversed by the 51-mile (82 km) Metacomet Trail.

The Stanley-Whitman House is a historic house museum at 37 High Street in Farmington, Connecticut. Built ca 1720, it is one of the oldest houses in Farmington. A well-preserved saltbox with post-medieval construction features, it was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960 and National Register of Historic Places when the registry opened in 1966.

The Wallington Public Schools is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade from Wallington, in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.As of the 2021–22 school year, the district, comprised of three schools, had an enrollment of 1,243 students and 91.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.7:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "B", the second lowest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Starting in 2014, the district began discussions with the Carlstadt-East Rutherford Regional School District for a proposal in which the 350 Wallington students would be added to the 500 already attending Henry P. Becton Regional High School for grades 9–12. The consolidation would allow for Wallington High School to be reused for other purposes, avoiding the need to build a new high school building, and could allow for elimination of duplicate administrators.

The Austin F. Williams Carriagehouse and House is a historic house at 127 Main Street in Farmington, Connecticut. Built in the mid-19th century, the property was designated a National Historic Landmark for the role it played in the celebrated case of the Amistad Africans, and as a "station" on the Underground Railroad.
