The Ljubljana railway station (Slovene: Železniška postaja Ljubljana) is the principal railway station in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It was completed on 18 April 1848, a year before the South railway, connecting Vienna and Trieste, reached Ljubljana.

The Slovenian Youth Theatre or Mladinsko Theatre (Slovene: Slovensko mladinsko gledališče) was founded in Ljubljana in 1955 as the first professional theater for children and youth in Slovenia. It is situated in the Baraga Seminary, which was built by architect Jože Plečnik in the center of Ljubljana. In the 1980s, it became a center of theatrical research and politically-engaged theater. It is known for a wide range of innovative poetics of different directors and an ensemble energy, a Peter Brook-like approach to acting with a laboratory for theatre research for actors, directors, choreographers and musicians to research, develop, and create.

The General Maister Monument (Slovene: Spomenik generala Maistra) is a bronze equestrian statue of Rudolf Maister that stands in a park at Liberation Front Square (Trg Osvobodilne fronte) in front of the Ljubljana railway station. It was created in 1999 by Jakov Brdar as a tribute of the City of Ljubljana to Maister, the first Slovene major general, who secured for Slovenia the city of Maribor.

Bežigrad Gymnasium (Slovene: Gimnazija Bežigrad) is a selective coeducational state secondary school for students aged between 15 and 20. It is named after the Bežigrad district in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where it is located. It is famous for its quality and for eminent alumni and is regarded as one of the top grammar schools in Central Europe. For a number of years it has been the school with the highest admission requirements in Slovenia and the school with the best national external examination results in the country. Bežigrad has produced a number of distinguished politicians, academics and businessmen. It has also produced more NBA league players than any other high school in the world outside of the United States.

The Exhibition and Convention Centre (Slovene: Gospodarsko razstavišče) in Ljubljana is a venue for organising domestic and international fairs as well as other events. The building complex stands in the Bežigrad District, between Vienna Street (Dunajska cesta, Vilhar Street (Vilharjeva cesta), and Robba Street (Robbova ulica), north of the Ljubljana railway station. It is operated by the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre company. The basic mission of the company is the organization of various events where the exhibitors and visitors meet and cooperate creatively.

Emonika, also named the Emonika City Centre or Ljubljana Emonika Passenger Centre (Slovene: Potniški center Ljubljana Emonika), is a construction project including a new bus and railway station at Liberation Front Square (Trg Osvobodilne fronte), near Ljubljana railway station, as well as in the nearby area in the Center District of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It will also provide a new business and residential complex.

The Slovenian Environment Agency (Slovenian: Agencija Republike Slovenije za okolje or ARSO) is the main organisation for environment of the Republic of Slovenia. It was established in 2001 with a reorganisation of the Hydrometeorological Institute of Slovenia. Since 2012, it is part of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment; before, it was part of the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning. As of May 2012, its director general is Silvo Žlebir. The range of duties of this organisation are in the field of monitoring, analysing and forecasting of natural phenomena and processes in the environment and reduction of the danger to people and their property as follows: national service for meteorology national service for hydrology national service for seismology monitoring of the pollution of the environment and the provision of quality public environmental data exercise the requirements for the protection of the environment, which result from forcing regulations, conservation of natural resources, biodiversity and the provision of sustainable development of the country.

The Bežigrad District (Slovene: Četrtna skupnost Bežigrad), or simply Bežigrad (pronunciation ), is a district (mestna četrt) of the City Municipality of Ljubljana. It encompasses the northern part of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, between the southern rail line to the south, the Upper Carniola (or Kamnik) rail line to the west, the highway loop to the north, and Šmartno Street (Šmartinska cesta) and Žale Cemetery to the east. It extends on both sides of Vienna Street (Dunajska cesta), which is its central axis and main traffic artery. In the narrow sense, it includes the neighborhoods of Bežigrad, Brinje, Nove Stožice ('New Stožice', also known also as BS3), and Sava Development (Savsko naselje). In the broader sense, Bežigrad is sometimes considered to include the northern Ljubljana suburbs of Stožice, Ježica, and the Črnuče District. Bežigrad is primarily a residential district. Along Vienna Street there are some sections with high concentrations of shops and businesses. There is a small industrial zone in the northwest part of the district. Its buildings are generally low (up to six floors), and single-family dwellings and raw houses predominate. Larger communities of apartment buildings are concentrated on the district's eastern edge, in Nove Stožice and the Sava Development. Important institutions and features of Bežigrad include the Slovenian Environmental Agency, the Stožice Sports Park and the Stožice Stadium, the Bežigrad Central Stadium designed by Jože Plečnik, the Bežigrad Secondary School, Navje Cemetery, Plečnik's unfinished Academic Collegium (intended to serve as the Baraga Seminary), Žale Cemetery, and the Ljubljana Fairgrounds. The older part of Bežigrad has many large houses from the interwar period. Savings Bank Street (Hranilniška ulica) stands out in particular. It is the oldest street in Bežigrad, created in the 1880s. There is also the Islamic Religious and Cultural Center, the first mosque in Slovenia, known as the Ljubljana Mosque, completed in February 2020.

The Province of Ljubljana (Italian: Provincia di Lubiana, Slovene: Ljubljanska pokrajina, German: Provinz Laibach) was the central-southern area of Slovenia. In 1941, it was annexed by the Kingdom of Italy, and after 1943 occupied by Nazi Germany. Created on May 3, 1941, it was abolished on May 9, 1945, when the Slovene Partisans and partisans from other parts of Yugoslavia liberated it from the Nazi Operational Zone of the Adriatic Littoral. Its administrative centre was Ljubljana.

Mass graves in Ljubljana were created in Ljubljana, Slovenia during and after the Second World War. The Commission on Concealed Mass Graves in Slovenia has registered five known mass graves in the city itself and an additional 15 in the City Municipality of Ljubljana.

Metelkova (full name in Slovene: Avtonomni kulturni center Metelkova mesto, "Metelkova City Autonomous Cultural Centre", referred to by the acronym AKC) is an autonomous social and cultural centre in the city centre of Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital city. Formerly, the site was the military headquarters of the Army of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, then it became the Slovenian headquarter of the Yugoslav National Army. It consists of seven buildings (military barracks) extended over a total area of 12,500 m², which have been squatted since September 1993. The squat is named after nearby Metelko Street (Slovene: Metelkova ulica), which is named after the 19th-century Slovenian Roman Catholic priest, philologist, and unsuccessful language reformer Fran Metelko.

Radiotelevizija Slovenija (English: Radio-Television of Slovenia) – usually abbreviated to RTV Slovenija (or simply RTV within Slovenia) – is Slovenia's national public broadcasting organization. Based in Ljubljana, it has regional broadcasting centres in Koper and Maribor and correspondents around Slovenia, Europe, and the world. RTV Slovenija's national radio services operate under the name Radio Slovenija, while the television division carries the name Televizija Slovenija or TV Slovenija. The names are sometimes Anglicized as Radio Slovenia and TV Slovenia, respectively. There are three national and four regional radio services, which can all be heard online as well. RTV Slovenija also finances the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra and the RTV Slovenia Big Band. The legal foundation for the institution is the Radiotelevizija Slovenija Act (Slovene: Zakon o Radioteleviziji Slovenija). It is the only public nonprofit broadcasting organization in Slovenia to operate both radio and television stations. The law also requires it to air radio and television services for the country's two indigenous linguistic minorities, which it does in collaboration with the regional broadcasting centres in Maribor (for the Hungarian-speaking minority) and in Koper (for the Italian-speaking minority). Approximately 73% of RTV Slovenija's funding comes from television licence fees.
