St Ambrose College is a Christian Brothers' Roman Catholic boys' grammar school in Hale Barns, Altrincham, Greater Manchester, England. It was founded in 1946 by Joseph Robertson. In 2012 the school became an academy, and was completely re-built. Upon leaving the college, boys are referred to as ‘Old Ambrosians’ and many go on to join the Old Boys' Association. St Ambrose College is an additional member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference.

Royd House is a Grade I listed building in Hale, Greater Manchester. It was designed by architect Edgar Wood as his own home and was built between 1914 and 1916. The building is regarded as one of the most advanced examples of early twentieth century domestic architecture. It is one of six Grade I listed buildings in Trafford.Royd House is a 2-storey, y-shaped building with a concrete roof. It has a concave façade and is faced in Portland red stone and Lancashire brick.

Hale Barns is a village near Altrincham in Greater Manchester, England, 7 miles (11 km) south-west of Manchester city centre, 2 miles west of Manchester Airport and close to the River Bollin. At the 2011 census, the village had a population of 9,736.Medieval Hale Barns was an outlying area of the township of Hale, but a growth in prosperity led to it becoming a separate settlement. The village gets its name from the tithe barn that used to stand there. Before the industrial revolution, Hale Barns was an agricultural village, but since then evolved into a commuter settlement. St Ambrose College Roman Catholic boys' grammar school is in Hale Barns and the village is also home to Ringway golf club. Cotteril Clough in Hale Barns is an ancient and diverse woodland and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Hale Barns, along with neighbouring Hale and Bowdon, is one of the wealthiest areas in the United Kingdom outside London.

Timperley is a suburban village in the borough of Trafford, Greater Manchester, England. Within the boundaries of the historic county of Cheshire, it is approximately six miles southwest of central Manchester. The population at the 2011 census was 11,061.

Warburton Green is a district of Hale Barns, Greater Manchester. It is situated to the south east of the centre of the village, close to the M56 and River Bollin. The housing estate grew up around the original hamlet, which was formed by Tanyard Farm and neighbouring properties on Chapel Lane. Warburton Green was originally in Ringway parish.

Moss Lane (currently known as the J. Davidson Stadium for sponsorship purposes) is a multi-purpose stadium in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, England. It is currently used primarily for football matches and is the home ground of Altrincham. The stadium also hosts games for Manchester United's under 17s side, and women's development team, as well as serving as a backup home venue for Manchester United W.F.C.The stadium comprises two all-seater stands on one side with a combined capacity of 1,323 spectators and terraces on the other three sides, giving a total capacity of 7,873.Chorley Borough RLFC moved to Moss Lane for the 1989–90 season and renamed themselves Trafford Borough RLFC. Trafford Borough played at Moss Lane for three seasons before moving to Blackpool as Blackpool Gladiators RLFC for the 1992–93 season.

Wellington School is a mixed secondary school and sixth form with academy status. It is located in Timperley in the English county of Greater Manchester.Previously a foundation school administered by Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council, Wellington School converted to academy status on 1 April 2011. However the school continues to coordinate with Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council for admissions, having a non-selective intake. Wellington School offers GCSEs as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A-levels.

Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College is a secondary school based in Altrincham, Greater Manchester. The school specialises in maths and computing, and is named after Blessed Thomas Holford, a 16th-century priest from Cheshire. The college has a Catholic identity, and all pupils are required to wear uniform.

Manchester Airport High Speed Station was a planned High Speed 2 station at Manchester Airport, on the southern boundary of Manchester, England, next to Junction 5 of the M56 motorway on the northern side of the airport 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north-west of Manchester Airport railway station.

Ashley is a village and civil parish in Cheshire, England. At the 2001 census, it had a population of 261. The village is close to the border with Greater Manchester, just to the south of the M56 motorway and Manchester Airport. Neighbouring villages include Hale, Rostherne and Mobberley. There is a public house, The Greyhound Inn. The Brereton family were Lords of the Manor of Ashley for several generations, from the reign of Henry VIII to about 1660. Ashley Cricket Club was founded in 1888.

Hale is a suburb and electoral ward within the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, in Greater Manchester, England. The population of the village taken at the 2011 census was 15,315. It is contiguous with the southeast of Altrincham, about 9 mi (14 km) southwest of the city of Manchester. Located within the boundaries of the historic county of Cheshire, the earliest documented reference to Hale is in the Domesday Book of 1086, although the name of the settlement is probably as old as 7th or 8th century. The area was mostly agricultural. Hale grew in the Middle Ages to the point when Hale Barns was established as a separate settlement. Hale was formerly in Cheshire. Hale, Bowdon and Hale Barns together are regarded as the wealthiest areas in Greater Manchester and outside of London, and similarly wealthy to Golden Triangle towns Wilmslow, Alderley Edge and Prestbury in Cheshire. These towns and the area between them contain some of the most expensive properties in the United Kingdom outside London.
