Thermal Power Plant 27 Severnaya (Russian: ТЭЦ-27 «Северная») is a combined heat and power plant located in the village of Chelobityevo in Mytishchinsky District of Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is owned and operated by Mosenergo. It provides heat and power to Mytishchi, as well as to Northern and North-Eastern Administrative Okrugs of Moscow.The decision to build the power plant was taken in 1980s. However, due to opposition of the local population the construction was postponed. The first unit became operational in 1996 and the second unit in 1998. The third unit was added in 2007 and the fourth unit in 2008.

Medvedkovo (Russian: Медведково) is a Moscow Metro station in Severnoye Medvedkovo District, North-Eastern Administrative Okrug, Moscow. It is on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya Line serving as its northeastern terminus. The station opened on 29 September 1978.

Losinoostrovsky District (Russian: Лосиноостро́вский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion) of North-Eastern Administrative Okrug, and one of the 125 raions of Moscow, Russia. It is 14 km north of the Moscow city center, located just inside the Moscow Ring Road, with Moscow Oblast to the north, Severnoye Medvedkovo District to the west, Babushkinsky district to the south, and Yarosloavsky District to the east. The area of the district is 5.54 square kilometers (2.14 sq mi). Population: 72,100 (2017 est.). Although its name coincides with Losiny Ostrov National Park, the district does not even border the park. Its name in fact refers to Losinoostrovskaya railway station, in turn named after the park.

Mytishchi Arena (Russian: Арена Мытищи, Arena Mytishchi) is a multi-purpose indoor sporting arena that is located in Mytishchi, which is 5 km (3 miles) outside of Moscow, Russia. The arena is used to host events such as: ice hockey, figure skating, basketball, volleyball, handball, tennis, badminton, futsal, artistic gymnastics, gymnastics, ice dancing, ballroom dancing, wrestling, Olympic weightlifting, boxing, concerts, festivals, exhibitions, conferences, dance evenings, circus performances, fashion shows, and other events. The capacity of the arena is 7,000 for ice hockey, 7,280 for basketball, and 9,000 for boxing and concerts.

The 2012 Moscow shooting was a mass shooting that occurred on 7 November 2012, in which six people were killed and one person injured by a lone gunman at a warehouse in northeast Moscow, Russia. The perpetrator, Dmitry Vinogradov, was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Babushkinsky District, Moscow (Russian: Ба́бушкинский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion) of North-Eastern Administrative Okrug, and one of the 125 raions of Moscow, Russia. The area of the district is 5.07 square kilometers (1.96 sq mi). It is named after the famous pilot and polar explorer Mikhail Babushkin, who was born here. Prior to renaming in 1939, the region was a village called Bordino. In 1960 it was incorporated into Moscow and urbanized. Many streets and objects in Babushkinsky and neighboring Losinoostrovsky and Yaroslavsky are named after various polar explorers.

The Academy of Foreign Intelligence (alternatively known as the SVR Academy, previously known as the Yuri Andropov Red Banner Institute and the Red Banner Institute) is one of the primary espionage academies of Russia, and previously the Soviet Union, serving the KGB and its successor organization, the Foreign Intelligence Service. It was attended by future President Vladimir Putin during the 1980s.

Babushkinskaya (Russian: Бабушкинская) is a Moscow Metro station in the Babushkinsky District, North-Eastern Administrative Okrug, Moscow. It was opened on September 29, 1978 as a part of the VDNKh – Medvedkovo sector. It is on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya Line, between Sviblovo and Medvedkovo stations after the commissioning of which there were 107 stations in the Moscow Metro.
