The Petawawa River is a river in the Saint Lawrence River drainage basin in Nipissing District and Renfrew County in eastern and northeastern Ontario, Canada. The river flows from Algonquin Provincial Park to the Ottawa River at the town of Petawawa, and is only one of two major tributaries of the Ottawa River to flow completely free (the other being the Dumoine River). The river's name comes from the Algonquian for "where one hears a noise like this", which refers to its many rapids.

The radio studios and offices are in Victoria Center on Isabella Street. CIMY has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 17,900 watts (34,000 maximum). The transmitter is on Round Lake Road in Pembroke, near the Trans-Canada Highway (Ontario Highway 17).

Sheenboro is a village and municipality in the Outaouais region, part of the Pontiac Regional County Municipality, Quebec, Canada. It was formerly known as Sheen-Esher-Aberdeen-et-Malakoff. Its territory stretches along the north shore of the Ottawa River from Chichester to Rapides-des-Joachims. Because of its Irish heritage, Sheenboro retained the character of being a "Little Corner of Ireland". Primarily dependent on farming and logging, it is also a popular location for tourism, swelling its summer population up to 500 persons. The Fort William Trading Post (now Hotel Pontiac), including the factor's house and church, is a historical site and heritage village with a popular beach in the summer. It is also home to a sacred Algonquin burial ground.

Petawawa Heliport (IATA: YWA, ICAO: CYWA) is located 3.5 nautical miles (6.5 km; 4.0 mi) northwest of Petawawa, Ontario, Canada. It is mostly used as a heliport for CH-146 Griffon and CH-147F Chinook helicopters from Garrison Petawawa.

École élémentaire et secondaire publique l'Équinoxe is a primary and secondary school in Pembroke, Ontario. The school opened in September 1999 with 75 students from kindergarten to grade 8. The following year, a grade 9 was added, and a grade 10 the year after. The first graduation at l'Équinoxe was in 2006. With the student population growing every year, the school moved to a bigger building in 2007. The school now has more than 250 students from kindergarten to grade 12. In this school they only speak French with one English class every other day from grade 4 to 12.

The Pembroke Memorial Centre is a 2250-seat multi-purpose arena in Pembroke, Ontario. Along with the Pembroke & Area Community Centre, the P.M.C. is one of two hockey rinks in Pembroke, and is home to the Pembroke Lumber Kings ice hockey team. Built in the early 1950s, the P.M.C. was named as a tribute to soldiers who served in World War I and World War II.The Pembroke Memorial Centre was officially opened on November 14, 1951 with an exhibition game between the Pembroke Senior Lumber Kings and the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League. Several future hall of famers played in the game for the Canadiens, including Maurice 'Rocket' Richard, 'Boom-Boom' Geoffrion, Elmer Lach and Doug Harvey. NHL President, Clarence Campbell, attended the sold-out game, and participated in a ceremonial puck drop as part of the pre-game festivities. The Memorial Centre replaced the privately owned Mackay Street Arena which had operated since the turn of the century in Pembroke. That arena had natural ice and became obsolete with the invention of artificial ice which the new Memorial Centre had. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the PMC on November 14, 2001, an exhibition game was played between the Pembroke Lumber King alumni and an Ottawa Senators alumni squad. Lionel Barber, then 70 years old, played in the anniversary game, making him the only player to have also played in the opening game at the PMC in 1951. Barber had moved to Pembroke to play senior hockey, after helping the Barrie Flyers win a Memorial Cup in junior hockey. The Pembroke Memorial Centre hosted the Centennial Cup championship tournament in the spring of 1988.
