Pietersbierum

Sexbierum (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌsɛksˈbiː.rʏm], West Frisian: Seisbierrum) is a village in the municipality of Waadhoeke, in the central north of the Netherlands. Sexbierum is located in the province of Friesland and located about 7 kilometres (4.3 miles) north-east of Harlingen, about 7 kilometres (4.3 miles) north-west of Franeker. The distance to Amsterdam is about 100 kilometres (62 miles). The village consists of approximately 600 houses, with 1,744 inhabitants in January 2014.

The village lies within the municipality of Harlingen, however, prior to 1984, it was a part of the municipality of Barradeel. The village center has approximately 100 residents, with about 490 residents in the entire village (including the neighborhoods of Lutkeburen, Haule, hamlet Foarryp and small part of the hamlet Roptasyl).

Kiesterzijl (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌki.stərˈzɛi̯l]; West Frisian: Kiestersyl) is a hamlet in the Dutch municipality of Waadhoeke in the province of Friesland. The hamlet is located southeast of Herbaijum and west of Franeker, adjacent to an industrial estate in Franeker. Kiesterzijl has a number of houses, a swing bridge over the Van Harinxma Canal, a shipping company and a power plant for transmission towers. Administratively, Kiesterzijl is a part of Franeker.

Klooster-Lidlum (West Frisian: Kleaster-Lidlum) is a small village in Waadhoeke municipality in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 38 in January 2014.

Kie (Dutch pronunciation: [ki]) is a hamlet in the Dutch municipality of Waadhoeke in the province of Friesland. It is located northwest of Hitzum, southeast of Herbaijum and just southwest of Franeker, of which it is a part administratively. The settlement of the hamlet is located on a road of the same name. The Van Harinxma Canal, formerly called the Harlingertrekvaart, flows north of Kie. The floodgate constructed near Kie took its name from the hamlet: Kiesterzijl.

Harlingen is a railway station located in Harlingen, Netherlands. The station was opened on 27 October 1863 and is located on the Harlingen–Nieuweschans railway. Train services are operated by Arriva. 600m west of this station is Harlingen Haven, the terminus of the line. From 1904 to 1935, Harlingen was the terminus of the Stiens-Harlingen railway line. From Harlingen Haven there are ferry connections to Terschelling and Vlieland.
