Kamnik Bistrica

The Besnica is a stream that flows through the Besnica Valley east of Ljubljana. It flows through the scattered settlement of Besnica and empties into the Ljubljanica at Podgrad as its last right tributary just before it joins the Sava River. In the past, this was also the quadruple confluence of the stream with the Sava, Kamnik Bistrica, and Ljubljanica rivers.

The Ljubljanica (pronounced [ljuˈbljáːnitsa]), known in the Middle Ages as the Leybach, is a river in the southern part of the Ljubljana Basin in Slovenia. The capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, lies on the river. The Ljubljanica rises south of the town of Vrhnika and flows into the Sava River about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) downstream from Ljubljana. Its largest affluent is the Mali Graben Canal. Including its source affluent the Little Ljubljanica (Slovene: Mala Ljubljanica), the river is 41 km (25 mi) in length. The Little Ljubljanica joins the Big Ljubljanica (Slovene: Velika Ljubljanica) after 1,300 m (4,300 ft) and the river continues its course as the Ljubljanica. The Ljubljanica is the continuation of several karst rivers that flow from the Prezid Karst Field (Slovene: Prezidsko polje) to Vrhnika on the surface and underground in caves, and so the river is poetically said to have seven names (six name changes): Trbuhovica, Obrh, Stržen, Rak, Pivka, Unica, and Ljubljanica.

Podgrad (pronounced [pɔdˈɡɾáːt, ˈpɔ̀ːdɡɾat]) is a settlement east of the capital Ljubljana in central Slovenia. It belongs to the City Municipality of Ljubljana. It lies on the right bank of the Ljubljanica River at the entrance into the Besnica Valley. The Ljubljanica in turn flows into the Sava immediately northeast of the settlement core. The railway line from Ljubljana to Zidani Most runs through the settlement. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.

Dol pri Ljubljani (pronounced [ˈdoːl pɾi ljuˈbljaːni]; German: Lusttal) is a settlement in central Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Dol pri Ljubljani. It is part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola and is now included in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.

Videm (pronounced [ˈʋiːdəm]) is a settlement next to Dol pri Ljubljani in the southeastern part of the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia.

Zaboršt pri Dolu (pronounced [zaˈbɔɾʃt pɾi ˈdoːlu]) is a settlement in the Municipality of Dol pri Ljubljani in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia.

The Pšata (pronounced [ˈpʃaːta]; in older sources also Pešata) is a river of Slovenia. The river is 28 km (17 mi) long. It is a right tributary of the Kamnik Bistrica, which merges with the Sava east of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.

Zalog (pronounced [ˈzaːlɔk]; German: Salloch) is a formerly independent settlement in the eastern part of the capital Ljubljana in central Slovenia. It stands above the left bank of the Ljubljanica River near its confluence with the Sava. It is part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region. The former village includes the hamlets of Stari Zalog, which is the old village core on a terrace between the railroad line and a bridge across the Sava, Novi Zalog to the south, Brinje north of the railroad toward the Sava River, Prod to the east on the spit between the Ljubljanica and the Sava, Gradišče on the left bank of the Ljubljanica, and Vabrje on a small rise between the two rivers.

Spodnji Kašelj (pronounced [ˈspoːdnji ˈkaːʃəl]; in older sources also Dolenji Kašelj, German: Unterkaschel) is a formerly independent settlement in the eastern part of the capital Ljubljana in central Slovenia. It is a compact settlement above the left bank of the Ljubljanica River between Zgornji Kašelj and Zalog. It is part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.
