Gradaščica

The Jek Bridge (Slovene: Jekarski most; also Jeklarski most, Jekavski most, Razorčev most 'Razorec Bridge') is a bridge crossing the Gradaščica River in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. The current structure was built in 1903 at the site of an earlier wooden bridge.The various names are derived from the toponym na Jeku (literally, 'on the hill' < German Ecke), which referred to a nearby wharf, and from the former Razorec Inn, located at Church Street (Cerkvena ulica) no. 1, today (Ernest) Eypper Street (Eipprova ulica).

The Hradecky Bridge (Slovene: Hradeckega most) is one of the first hinged bridges in the world, the first and only preserved cast iron bridge in Slovenia, and one of its most highly valued technical achievements. It spans the Ljubljanica River in Ljubljana. At the time of its construction, it was praised as elegant, very modern, and economical. Because it was later used to transport the dead from the Ljubljana hospital to the mortuary, it was nicknamed the Mortuary Bridge (Mrtvaški most), but has retained its beauty and technical perfection. Throughout history, both names have persisted. Since 2011, it has been located at an extension of Hren Street (Hrenova ulica) between the Krakovo Embankment (Krakovski nasip) and the Gruden Embankment (Grudnovo nabrežje), connecting the Trnovo District and the Prule neighbourhood in the Center District. It has three articulated arches, each of them made of two parts, joined with a bolt by the principle of the charnier arch at the highest point of the arch. Technically, it quite surpasses the Iron Bridge in England. The elements are joined with screws instead of wedges, and reinforcing bars and hollow elements were used instead of full pylons, which has enabled the bridge to be much lighter, but stable.The Hradecky Bridge was manufactured according to the plans of the senior engineer Johann Hermann from Vienna at the Auersperg iron foundry in Dvor near Žužemberk, and was installed as the first cast iron bridge in Ljubljana in 1867, at the location of today's Cobblers' Bridge. It was named after the former Ljubljana mayor Johann Nepomuk Hradeczky, who had the most merit for its construction. In 1931, when the architect Jože Plečnik planned the new Cobblers' Bridge, he moved the Hradecky Bridge further down the Ljubljanica near the former Ljubljana mortuary in the vicinity of Zalog Street (Slovene: Zaloška cesta). The original gas lamps were replaced with decorative facets. In 2004, it was closed to traffic, and in 2009 a footbridge was built next to it. In 2010, it was removed from the location, renovated, and transferred to its current site in 2011. It is now used only by pedestrians and cyclists.

St. James's Bridge (Slovene: Šentjakobski most) in Ljubljana is a bridge that crosses the Ljubljanica River on the southern end of downtown Ljubljana, next to Zois Manor. It links Zois Street (Zoisova cesta) and Karlovac Street (Karlovška cesta). The most important city traffic artery across the Ljubljanica runs across it.

The Rooster Bridge (Slovene: Petelinji most, Petelinja brv, Petelinov most, Tenente) in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is a footbridge crossing the Gradaščica River in the Trnovo District south of the downtown of Ljubljana. It stands between the Trnovo Bridge and the outflow of the Gradaščica into the Ljubljanica,: 127  and connects Gradaščica Street (Gradaška ulica) in the northern Krakovo neighbourhood (left bank) to Eipper Street (Eipprova ulica) in the southern Trnovo neighbourhood (right bank). These are the oldest Ljubljana suburbs, known for their market gardens and cultural events.

Gruber Mansion (Slovene: Gruberjeva palača) is a mansion in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, standing at 1 Astronomy Street (Zvezdarska ulica) on the right bank of the Ljubljanica, east of Levstik Square (Levstikov trg) and Castle Hill. It currently houses the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia.

The Archives of the Republic of Slovenia (ARS) (Slovene: Arhivi republike Slovenije) are the national archives of Slovenia. They were created in 1945, but have their origins in 1773. They are supervised by the Slovenian Ministry of Culture. They are located in the Gruber Palace in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Since March 2012, the archive's executive director has been Jože Dežman, who replaced Dragan Matić.

Faculty of Architecture (also known as Ljubljana School of Architecture), established in 1919 in Ljubljana, is a faculty with a long tradition and with notable architects including Jože Plečnik, Max Fabiani, and Edvard Ravnikar. It is still considered one of the best Central European schools of architecture, offering academic education in the fields of architecture, interior design, urban design, graphic design, product design, as well as professional research in the areas. Enrolment entails an entrance exam. Each year 135 regular and 45 part-time students are accepted. There are almost 700 students enrolled in the graduate course. The teaching and associate staff includes some 65 employees. Since the year 2000, within students exchange Erasmus programmes there are annually 50 incoming (each year increasing) and around 40 outgoing students (both exchanges and placements).

Zois Mansion (Slovene: Zoisova palača) is a mansion in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It stands in the Center District, at Breg, a street on the west (left) bank of the Ljubljanica, between Teutonic Street (Križevniška ulica) to the north and Zois Street (Zoisova cesta) to the south. The mansion served as residence of Baron Sigmund Zois, a leading figure of Enlightenment in the Slovene Lands of the Austrian monarchy and supporter of the revival of Slovene culture and literature.The mansion was built between 1765 and 1805, combining until 1770 four older buildings, and then in 1805 another one. The facade was redesigned in the neoclassicist style in 1798. The monumental stone portal dates to 1589 and was made by the manson Abondio di Donino for the building of the town warehouse. It was redesigned in the 18th century, except for the keystone that has been built into facade left of the main entrance. It bears a relief of the coat of arms of the town that has also been ascribed to Donino. Right of the main entrance, there is a bronze bust of Sigmund Zois from 1993, work by the sculptor Mirsad Begić. In the mansion's yard stands an old fountain. Zois's tombstone is etched into the wall facing the yard.Between the 1780s and the first decade of the 19th century, the mansion was used as the venue of the Slovene intellectual elite, which included the playwright and historian Anton Tomaž Linhart, poet and journalist Valentin Vodnik, philologists Jurij Japelj and Blaž Kumerdej, and linguist Jernej Kopitar.

St. James's Parish Church (Slovene: župnijska cerkev sv. Jakoba, šentjakobska cerkev) is a church in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is dedicated to St. James the Greater. Its name is often incorrectly translated as St. Jacob's because Slovene, like many other languages, uses the same word for both James and Jacob. In the late 1920s, the square in front of the church was renovated by the Slovene architect Jože Plečnik, and in the early 1950s by the architect Boris Kobe. Opposite St. James's Church is Gruber Mansion, which houses the Slovenian National Archives.

Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana (Slovene: Akademija za glasbo Univerze v Ljubljani) is the main junior conservatory in Slovenia. The school has its origin in the Music School of the Slovene Philharmonic Society (founded 1821, indirectly descended from the Ljubljana Philharmonic Academy of Johann Berthold von Höffer, 1701), which became the basis of the Ljubljana Conservatory in 1919, and then the Ljubljana Academy of Music in 1939. The secondary programme became an independent institution as the Ljubljana Music and Ballet Conservatory in 1953.

The Jewish Cultural Center is a privately-owned Jewish cultural center and museum of Jewish history, located in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Founded in 2013, the center's exhibitions blend topics of Judaism and history through art, innovation, and creativity. Usual activities of Jewish communities are expanded upon, to include more entertaining, and educational topics through theater and puppet performances, concerts, lectures, large events for Jewish holidays, and other social gatherings. The Jewish Center is home to the first Jewish museum in Slovenia, as well as the first functioning synagogue since the Maribor Synagogue shut down. Ljubljana's Mini teater is the most important partner in the implementation of these programs. Its premises are intended for permanent public events and programs (puppet and theatre performances, concerts, literary evenings, exhibitions, lectures, Holocaust education programs, book promotions, Hebrew courses, meetings, socializing, film screenings, and discussions).

Stična Mansion (Slovene: Stiški dvorec, German: Sitticherhof) is a mansion house located at 34 Old Square (Stari trg) in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. The mansion was built between 1628 and 1630, with the purpose of accommodating the abbots of the Cistercian monastery in the village of Stična. Since then, it has undergone several alterations, notably the façade was reworked in the early 18th century. In front of Stična Mansion stands the Hercules Fountain.
