The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia (Slovene: Ministrstvo za zunanje zadeve Republike Slovenije; MZZ) is an executive department of the Government of Slovenia responsible for relations with other countries and international organisations, monitoring of the international political and economic situation, and strengthening of Slovenia's relations with other countries and international organisations. The ministry is located in the capital city of Ljubljana. The current Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tanja Fajon, has served since 1 June 2022.

The National Museum of Slovenia (Slovene: Narodni muzej Slovenije) is located in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is located in the Center district of the city near Tivoli City Park. Along with the Slovenian Museum of Natural History, located in the same building, the National Museum of Slovenia is the country's oldest scientific and cultural institution. The museum has an extensive collection of archaeological artefacts, old coins and banknotes (in the numismatics department on the ground floor) and displays related to the applied arts. In 2021 it's been given the golden Order for Exceptional Merits by the president of Slovenia, Borut Pahor.

The Slovenian Museum of Natural History (Slovene: Prirodoslovni muzej Slovenije, Latin: Museum Historiae Naturalis Sloveniae) is a Slovenian national museum with natural history, scientific, and educational contents. It is the oldest cultural and scientific Slovenian institution. The museum features national, European, and worldwide collections demonstrating the changes in biodiversity, the development of the natural history thought, as well as different techniques of collection and preparation of samples. Its research activities focus on natural heritage of Slovenia. The Slovenian Museum of Natural History operates in the Center District in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, at Museum Street (Muzejska ulica), near Tivoli Park, the Parliament and the Opera House. Along with the National Museum of Slovenia, it is housed in a building from 1885, built upon the plans by the Viennese architect Wilhelm Rezori and the master builder Wilhelm Treo from Ljubljana. The symbol of the museum is an almost complete woolly mammoth skeleton, found in Nevlje near Kamnik in 1938. Its official publication, published since autumn 1978, has been named Scopolia in honour of Giovanni Antonio Scopoli, a leading Carniolan naturalist of the 18th century.

The Museum of Modern Art (Slovene: Moderna galerija) in Ljubljana, Slovenia, is the central museum and gallery of the Slovenian art works from the 20th and 21st centuries.

The Cankar Centre or Cankar Hall (Slovene: Cankarjev dom) is the largest Slovenian convention, congress and culture center. The building was designed by the architect Edvard Ravnikar and was built at the southern edge of Republic Square in Ljubljana between 1977 and 1982. Construction was funded entirely by the Socialist Republic of Slovenia.

The Jakopič Pavilion (Slovene: Jakopičev paviljon) was an art gallery in Ljubljana, the first purpose-built art exhibition venue in the territory of modern Slovenia. It was built in 1908 by the painter Rihard Jakopič upon the plans of the architect Max Fabiani. The pavilion stood at the beginning of the Latterman Avenue in Tivoli Park. Until World War II, it was the central exhibition place of Slovene visual artists, presenting exhibitions from the fields of painting, sculpture and photography.

The Tomb of National Heroes (Slovene: Grobnica narodnih herojev, also nagrobnik narodnih herojev) in Ljubljana, Slovenia is a tomb and a monument for the national heroes of the World War II resistance struggle in Slovenia, created in 1949. The designers of the tomb and the monument were the architect Edo Mihevc and the sculptor Boris Kalin. It stands next to Šubic Street (Šubičeva ulica), at the southern side of National Heroes Square (Trg narodnih herojev), west of the National Assembly Building. It has been protected as a cultural monument of local significance.The tomb is located underground, and a monument in the shape of a sarcophagus stands beside it, in the shade of the trees on the western side of the National Assembly Building. Since it was installed, the monument has been modified several times and placed on a granite base. The eastern and western faces of the sarcophagus are covered by bronze reliefs depicting scenes from the Second World War. A patriotic epitaph, written by the poet Oton Župančič, runs along the top edge. It was designed in December 1948 as one of his last works and carved in 1949.

Republic Square or Square of the Republic (Slovene: Trg republike), at first named Revolution Square, is the largest square in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It was designed in the second half of the 20th century by Edvard Ravnikar. Independence of Slovenia was declared here on 26 June 1991. The National Assembly Building stands at its northern side and Cankar Hall at the southern side.

The Kingdom of Illyria was a crown land of the Austrian Empire from 1816 to 1849, the successor state of the Napoleonic Illyrian Provinces, which were reconquered by Austria in the War of the Sixth Coalition. It was established according to the Final Act of the Vienna Congress. Its administrative centre was in Ljubljana (officially German: Laibach) Upon the Revolutions of 1848, the kingdom was dissolved and split into the Austrian crown lands of Carniola, Carinthia, and the Austrian Littoral.

The Socialist Republic of Slovenia (Slovene: Socialistična republika Slovenija, Serbo-Croatian: Socijalistička Republika Slovenija / Социјалистичка Република Словенија), commonly referred to as Socialist Slovenia or simply Slovenia, was one of the six federal republics forming Yugoslavia and the nation state of the Slovenes. It existed under various names from its creation on 29 November 1945 until 25 June 1991. In early 1990, the government dismantled the single-party system of government – installed by the League of Communists – and adopted a multi-party democracy. Republic of Slovenia dropped the 'Socialist' label shortly after and in late 1990 cast a successful public vote for independence, which it formally declared on 25 June 1991 and achieved after the brief Ten-Day War.

Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church (Serbian: Храм светих Кирила и Методија/Hram svetih Kirila i Metodija, Slovene: Cerkev sv. Cirila in Metoda), commonly known as the Orthodox Church (Slovene: Pravoslavna cerkev, Serbian: Pravoslavna crkva), is an Eastern Orthodox church building located in Trubar Park (Slovene: Trubarjev park), between Bleiweis Street (Bleiweisova cesta) and Prešeren Street (Prešernova cesta), north of the Museum of Modern Art and west of the National Gallery of Slovenia. It belongs to the Metropolitanate of Zagreb and Ljubljana of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Built in Serbo-Byzantine Revival, the church has five domes with golden crosses at their top. It was built from 1932 to 1936 by Ivan Bricelj based on plans by the architect Momir Korunović. The frescoes in the interior were painted by the Serbian painters Dragomir Jašović, Miša Mladenović, and Danica Mladenovič from 1986 until 1997. The iconostasis is work of a prominent woodcarver workshop from Debar (Macedonia) and has been decorated with icons by the Slovene painter Mirko Šubic, who created them in 1940.The foundation was blessed by Serbian Patriarch Varnava in 1932. The church was blessed on 23 October 2005 by the Serbian Patriarch Pavle in the presence of President Janez Drnovšek and Ljubljana's Roman Catholic metropolite Alojz Uran. This is also the date of official opening of the church. At the blessing they installed the relics of Saint Athanasius, which were brought from the Vatican by Tomáš Špidlík and symbolised the integration of one Christian unity (Orthodox and Catholic). In 2009, the church was visited by Serbian President Boris Tadić. Since 10 April 2010, the church has the status of a cultural monument of local significance.

Tivoli City Park (Slovene: Mestni park Tivoli) or simply Tivoli Park (Park Tivoli) is the largest park in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is located on the western outskirts of the Center District, stretching to the Šiška District to the north, the Vič District to the south, and the Rožnik District to the west. Several notable buildings and art works stand in the park. Since 1984, the park has been protected as part of Tivoli–Rožnik Hill–Šiška Hill Nature Park. It is home to a variety of bird species.
