Sofia Iztok Thermal Power Plant (Bulgarian: ТЕЦ София Изток) is a power plant situated at the eastern edge of the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia. It has an installed capacity of 186 MW.

Iskar (Bulgarian: Искър [ˈiskɐr]) is a district located in the eastern parts of Sofia. As of 2006 it has 69,896 inhabitants and has an area of 25,6 km2. It includes four neighbourhoods: "Druzhba 1", "Druzhba 2", "Dimitar Milenkov" and Abdovitsa as well as the village of Busmantsi. The district also includes the "Gara Iskar" industrial zone which is situated around the railway station of the same name. Vrana Palace is situated in Iskar District. There is a spacious park with rare tree species and a lake. There are 3 churches including one in Busmantsi.

Sky Fort Business Center is a skyscraper office building currently under construction in Sofia. Located at the busiest thoroughfare in the Bulgarian capital, Tsarigradsko shose, and nearby Tsarigradsko shose Metro Station. Sky Fort will be the first skyscraper over 200 m tall in Sofia and will become the tallest building in Bulgaria and in the Balkans (with the exception of Istanbul). It will have 47 floors and a surface area of 80,000 square metres (860,000 sq ft). The building will have 2 underground floors which will serve as parking spaces. The building is planned to be finished by 2021.

Capital Fort (Bulgarian: Капитал Форт) Business Center is a Class A office building in Sofia. Measuring 126 m, it is the tallest building in Bulgaria. It has 28 floors and a surface area of 80,000 square metres (860,000 sq ft). The building has two underground floors which serve as parking lots for around 750 cars.

The Inter Expo Center (IEC) is a multi-purpose convention center in Sofia, Bulgaria. It consists of six exhibition halls, eight congress halls, and outdoor exhibition spaces. The center is the biggest convention and exhibition venue in the city. The development also includes an office tower above the main reception area and restaurants around the main entrance.

Inter Expo Center – Tsarigradsko shose Metro Station (Bulgarian: Метростанция "Интер Експо Център - Цариградско шосе") is a station on the Sofia Metro in Bulgaria. It opened on 25 April 2012. Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and EU Council President Herman Van Rompuy inaugurated the new section of the Sofia Metro, which was funded with EU money. It is located on Tsarigradsko shose.

Druzhba Metro Station (Bulgarian: Метростанция "Дружба") is a station on the Sofia Metro in Bulgaria. It opened on 2 April 2015.

Sofiyska Sveta gora Metro Station (Bulgarian: Метростанция „Софийска Света гора“) is a station on the Sofia Metro in Bulgaria. It started operation on 2 April 2015.

Kazichene (Bulgarian: Казичене [kɐˈzit͡ʃɛnɛ]) is a large village in the Pancharevo district to the east of the Bulgarian capital of Sofia. As of 2007, the village officially had 4,977 inhabitants. Because of its close proximity to the Sofia ring road and the nearby railroad, over the past decade the area has developed into an industrial-storage zone with a logistics center and offices of a number of prominent companies such as Werta Logistics, Balkan Steel Engineering, and the Chipita snacks factory.There is a large lake near Kazichene where the Litex water park is located. Built in the mid-1980s, today the park is the only place in Bulgaria offering boatless water skiing and wakeboarding.The village has a single football club, FC Kazichene, playing in the Bulgarian fourth division, known as the A OFG. Several prominent footballers have ended their careers there, including Emil Kremenliev and Ivan Vasilev. The town is also known for being the birthplace of Plamen Krumov, a current Levski Sofia footballer, and Borislav Stoyanov, who plays for SV Schwarzhofen. Kazichene Cove on Low Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica is named after Kazichene.

Busmantsi (Bulgarian: Бусманци, also transcribed as Busmanci) is a village located in the Sofia City Province, western Bulgaria. It is part of the Iskar district in the municipality of Sofia, 8 km to the east of the City centre. As of 2006 it has 1,619 inhabitants. The village is surrounded by agricultural lands and factories. There are no woods in the vicinity with the exception of the areas around the Iskar river. Busmantsi is also the location of a detention center that was featured in the 2009 20th Century Fox horror film Wrong Turn 3.

Institute of Solid State Physics is one of the physical institutes at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, currently known as the Georgi Nadjakov Institute of Solid State Physics. It provides scientific background of solid state electronics and optics in Bulgaria. Some reports and discussions are referred to below.
