King's Road Chelsea railway station

King's Road or Kings Road (or sometimes the King's Road, especially when it was the king's private road until 1830, or as a colloquialism by middle/upper class London residents), is a major street stretching through Chelsea and Fulham, both in west London. It is associated with 1960s style and with fashion figures such as Mary Quant and Vivienne Westwood. Sir Oswald Mosley's Blackshirt movement had a barracks on the street in the 1930s.

The Chenil Gallery (often referred to as the Chenil Galleries, or New Chenil Galleries) was a British art gallery and sometime-music studio in Chelsea, London between 1905 and 1927, and later the location of various businesses referencing this early use.

The Chelsea College of Aeronautical and Automobile Engineering was an independent and private educational organisation established in 1924 by its principal, S C H Roberts as the Automobile Engineering College. It was formally expanded to include aeronautical engineering in 1931 in association with Brooklands School of Flying.A separate institution named The College of Aeronautical Engineering was established while the Automobile Engineering College was evacuated to Wimbledon Park after the destruction of the Chelsea premises by enemy action. In 1946 the institutions were united as The College of Aeronautical and Automobile Engineering. They returned to new premises at 102 Sydney Street SW3 in 1952. When Stanley Coryton Hugh Roberts (known as "C H") died in September 1957 there were more than 400 students training at his institution in Chelsea. C H also founded the British School of Motoring.In the 1980s it amalgamated with West Sussex College of Design and Worthing Technical College to form Northbrook College retaining its premises at Shoreham Airport, in Shoreham-by-Sea.

Chelsea is an affluent area in west London, England, due south-west of Charing Cross by approximately 2.5 miles. Kensington and Chelsea Register Office is an office for the registration of births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships located in Chelsea Old Town Hall in Chelsea, London. It has hosted the weddings of many notable people.According to The Independent, it is "still one of the hippest places to get married".

The Metropolitan Borough of Chelsea was a metropolitan borough of the County of London between 1900 and 1965. It was created by the London Government Act 1899 from most of the ancient parish of Chelsea. It was amalgamated in 1965 under the London Government Act 1963, with the Royal Borough of Kensington to form the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Chelsea Town Hall is a municipal building in King's Road, Chelsea, London. The oldest part is a Grade II* listed building and the later part is Grade II listed.

Chelsea Manor Street is a street in Chelsea, London. It runs roughly north to south from Britten Street, crossing King's Road to St Loo Avenue. The southern continuation, Cheyne Gardens ends at Cheyne Walk. It was originally called Manor Street.In 1931, the Peabody Trust built the Chelsea Manor Street estate of eight blocks totalling 111 flats, designed by Victor Wilkins. Following modernisation in the 1970s, there are now 103 flats.The designers Edward McKnight Kauffer and Marion Dorn lived at Swan Court, Chelsea Manor Street, and this is commemorated by a blue plaque placed by English Heritage in 2015. Crime writer Dame Agatha Christie and travel writer Alasdair Alpin MacGregor also lived at Swan Court. American novelist,author of Butterfield 8, John O'Hara lived in Chesil Court.

Chelsea Fire Station is located at 264 King's Road, London.The station was opened on 3 March 1965 as part of a wider scheme that included the Chelsea Arts School.The station is one of the possible sites for Crossrail 2's King's Road Chelsea railway station.In 2014, plans to reduce the number of engines located at the station were rejected.

213 and 215 King's Road SW3 are a pair of terraced houses on King's Road, Chelsea, London, built in 1720. English Heritage has designated them a Grade II* listed building.In the 1920s, No. 213 was inhabited by leading interior decorator Syrie Maugham. There, in 1927 she created her "all white room", decorated in various shades of white, which became widely known and imitated in fashionable circles. Her husband, the novelist Somerset Maugham, briefly also lived there. A rival interior decorator, Sibyl Colefax, lived next door to her at Argyll House, No. 211.213 has a blue plaque to film director Sir Carol Reed, who lived there with his wife Penelope Dudley-Ward from 1948 until his death in 1976. For a brief time in the late 1950s, singer Judy Garland leased the 213 from Carol Reed, living there with her husband Sid Luft and three children. In 1973 they were joined by Carol Reed's wife's cousin Belinda Lambton and her son Ned, after her husband Antony Lambton went to live in Italy with his mistress. Her visitors at number 213 included Leigh Bowery, Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, Jools Holland and his band, and Shimi Lovat.215 was the residence in 1771 of the composer Thomas Arne and has a tablet commemorating Dame Ellen Terry, who lived there from 1904 to 1920.

Acme Attractions was a London clothing store on Kings Road, Chelsea, London, that in the early 1970s provided a place for many punk and reggae musicians and scenesters to hang out. Shop assistant and manager Don Letts described Acme Attraction as a place "where the interaction between the different factions became more important than selling merchandise, even though at that age it was a deadly combination."
