Imeni Kirova is a town in the Ararat Province of Armenia. The town is named after Sergey Kirov.

Vedi Alco (Armenian: Վեդի Ալկո), is one of the leading producers of alcoholic drinks in Armenia, located in the village of Ginevet of Ararat Province. It was founded in 1956 as the Vedi Wine Factory by the government of the Armenian SSR, named after the Vedi raion of Soviet Armenia. The grapes processed by Vedi Alco are mainly from the Ararat plain as well as the Areni and Getap region of Vayots Dzor.

Nor Ughi (Armenian: Նոր ուղի) is a village in the Vedi Municipality of the Ararat Province of Armenia. It literally means new way in Armenian. It was developed around the Vedi Wine Factory operating since 1956.

Aygepat (Armenian: Այգեպատ) is a village in the Artashat Municipality of the Ararat Province of Armenia.

Artashat (Armenian: Արտաշատ), Hellenized as Artaxata (Ancient Greek: Ἀρτάξατα) and Artaxiasata (Ἀρταξιάσατα), was a major city and commercial center of ancient Armenia which served as the capital of the Kingdom of Armenia from its founding in 176 BC to 120 AD, with some interruptions. It was founded during reign of King Artaxias I (Artashes), the founder of the Artaxiad dynasty. Its ruins are located in the Ararat Province of modern-day Armenia, on the left bank of the Araks River, at the site of the monastery of Khor Virap. It was destroyed and rebuilt several times from the 1st to the 5th centuries AD, before finally being abandoned.

The Battle of Artaxata was fought near the Arsanias River in 68 BC between an army of the Roman Republic and the army of the Kingdom of Armenia. The Romans were led by proconsul Lucius Licinius Lucullus, while the Armenians were led by Tigranes II of Armenia, who was sheltering Mithridates VI of Pontus. The battle was part of the Third Mithridatic War, and was a Roman victory.

The Khor Virap State Sanctuary is a wetland and protected area that was established within the administrative borders of Pokr Vedi village of the Ararat Province of Armenia, on the left bank of the Khor Virap Church of the Arax River and on 50.28 hectares of moist land of the right-hand side of Artashat, formerly the capital of Armenia.
