Monti Cimini

Lake Vico (Italian: lago di Vico, pronounced [ˈviːko]) is a caldera lake in northern Lazio, central Italy. It is one of the highest major Italian lakes, with an altitude of 510 m. Administratively, it is part of the municipalities of Caprarola and Ronciglione. The lake is surrounded by the Cimini Hills, in particular by the Fogliano (965 m) and Venere (851 m) mountains. It is part of the Lake Vico Natural Reserve. According to legend, the lake was created by Hercules, who defied the local inhabitants by wielding his club. When he did this, a stream sprang up and formed the lake.

Mount Cimino (1,053 m a.s.l.) is the highest peak in Lazio's Anti-Apennine chain of the Cimini Mountains, and in the entire province of Viterbo. It towers above the town of Soriano nel Cimino.

The Villa Farnese, also known as Villa Caprarola, is a pentagonal mansion in the town of Caprarola in the province of Viterbo, Northern Lazio, Italy, approximately 50 kilometres (31 mi) north-west of Rome, originally commissioned and owned by the House of Farnese. A property of the Republic of Italy, Villa Farnese is run by the Polo Museale del Lazio. This villa is not to be confused with two similarly-named properties of the family, the Palazzo Farnese and the Villa Farnesina, both in Rome. The Villa Farnese is situated directly above the town of Caprarola and dominates its surroundings. It is a massive Renaissance and Mannerist construction, opening to the Monte Cimini, a range of densely wooded volcanic hills. It is built on a five-sided plan in reddish gold stone; buttresses support the upper floors. As a centerpiece of the vast Farnese holdings, Caprarola was always an expression of Farnese power, rather than a villa in the more usual agricultural or pleasure senses.

The Biblioteca Teresiana (est. 1780) of Mantua, Italy, is a public library founded by sovereign Maria Theresa.

Villa Lante is a Mannerist garden of surprise in Bagnaia, Viterbo, central Italy, attributed to Jacopo Barozzi da Vignola. Villa Lante did not become well known until it passed to Ippolito Lante Montefeltro della Rovere, Duke of Bomarzo, in the 17th century, when it was already 100 years old. The Villa, a property of the Republic of Italy, since December 2014, is run by the Polo Museale del Lazio.

Bagnaia is a village in Lazio, central Italy, administratively a frazione of the comune of Viterbo, province of Viterbo. Former municipality, it was annexed to the comune of Viterbo in 1928. Bagnaia is about 7 km from Viterbo and 100 km from Rome. The "Fuoco di Sant Antonio" is a large bonfire erected in the town center and, with much merriment, lit on the evening of each 16th of January in honor of the St Anthony.

Carbognano is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Viterbo in the Italian region of Latium, located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) northwest of Rome and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) southeast of Viterbo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,992 and an area of 17.2 square kilometres (6.6 sq mi).Carbognano borders the following municipalities: Caprarola, Fabrica di Roma, Nepi, Vallerano.

Santa Maria in Gradi is a Roman Catholic church in the town of Viterbo in the region of Lazio, Italy. The church was once part of a Dominican order monastery, but the convent is now adapted to form buildings in the Tuscia University (Università degli Studi della Tuscia). The convent stood outside of Porta Romana.

The Basilica of Santa Maria della Quercia is a Renaissance-style, Roman Catholic sanctuary church and minor basilica, about two kilometer outside of the center of Viterbo, on the road to Bagnaia, in the Region of Lazio, Italy.

Porta Romana is a southeastern portals in the medieval walls of Viterbo. The merlionated gate, with Baroque decoration is located on at exit point of Via Garibaldi, where it meets highway SS2 as it skirts the historic center of Viterbo, region of Lazio, Italy. South of the gate is a train station (Stazione di Viterbo Porta Romana), with local lines linking to Rome, and just west is the campus of Tuscia University, which occupies some of an old Dominican monastery and Villa Gentili. Just north inside the walls, is the church of San Sisto.

San Sisto is a Romanesque-style Roman Catholic church in the town of Viterbo in the Region of Lazio. The church was once known as San Sisto fuori la Porta Romana.

Santa Maria della Verità (Saint Mary of the Truth) is a Roman Catholic church in Viterbo, region of Lazio, Italy. Formerly a monastic church and sanctuary, the adjacent convent has now been converted into the Civic Museum while the church is now a parish church.
