Sallybrook

Sarsfields GAA is a hurling club is based in the Riverstown and Glanmire area of County Cork. The club plays in the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. They have won six County Championships, 1951, 1957, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014. They have also won three Minor County Championships, 2007, 2008 and 2014. The club derives its name for the Irish Jacobite and soldier Patrick Sarsfield, 1st Earl of Lucan.

Glanmire Community College is an Irish secondary school located in Glanmire, Cork, Ireland. It was opened in 1997 and has since expanded. It is a designated Community College under the joint trusteeship of the Cork Education and Training Board and the Diocese of Cork and Ross. It serves the second level education needs of the greater Glanmire area. There are roughly 85 teachers and 1000 students in Glanmire Community College. The school has many facilities, including a music room, woodwork and metalwork rooms, technical graphics rooms, home economics kitchens, sports facilities, including a tennis/basketball court, a gymnasium, a gym, and a GAA pitch. Glanmire Community College also unveiled an all-weather pitch on 24 September 2021. The school is involved in many projects, such as work with Bothar, and has attained a Green Flag in the Green Schools project. The school's principal is Ronan McCarthy.

Coláiste an Phiarsaigh is a coeducational voluntary secondary school in Glanmire, Cork. Irish is the language of instruction and all pupils and teachers are expected to converse in school is free for day pupils and fee-paying for boarders, though some bursaries are available. Gaedhealachas Teoranta established the school in 1973. it is named after Patrick Pearse, an Irish revolutionary and Gaelic revivalist. Cormac Mac Cárthaigh was one of the founders, and Eibhlín Ní Drisceoil was principal from 1973 to 1991. In 1978, with about 200 students enrolled, the first permanent building was opened. In the eighties when student numbers increased, prefabs were opened. A permanent extension building opened in 1995, with a science lab, computer room, art room, classrooms, staff room and offices. In the 2011–12 school year, the enrolment was 255 boys and 281 girls. Irish-language courses for children 10–14 are held in the school during the summer holidays.In The Sunday Times 2013 ranking of progression to third-level education, the school ranked 5th in Cork city and county, and 22nd in the state

Glanmire (Irish: Gleann Maghair) is a suburban town 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) from Cork city centre, in the civil parish of Rathcooney, County Cork, Ireland. Glanmire is within the administrative area of Cork City Council and the Dáil constituency of Cork North-Central. The greater Glanmire area encompasses the communities of Riverstown (Baile Roisín), Brooklodge (Cill Ruadháin) and Sallybrook (Sruthán na Saileach).

Dunkettle railway station was a railway station to the east of Cork City in Ireland. Originally part of the Cork and Youghal Railway, it opened on 10 November 1859 and was closed in 1966.In the early 21st century, it was proposed to reopen a station at Dunkettle on the Cobh line of the Cork Suburban Rail project. These plans were refused planning permission in 2009.

Lotamore House is a Georgian house in Cork, Ireland, which used as a residence by several Cork merchant families before being turned into a number of businesses. Used as guesthouse for several years, by the beginning of the 21st century the house had fallen into disrepair, It was, however, renovated and reopened as a fertility clinic in 2017.

The Dunkettle Interchange is a major road junction in Glanmire, to the east of Cork City, Ireland. It forms a junction between the M8, N25 and the N40. The junction is currently a four-arm signalised junction with a flyover, allowing traffic travelling in an east–west axis to avoid having to use the roundabout. On average, 95,000 vehicles use the junction on a daily basis. As of 2018, a further civil engineering upgrade to make the interchange work on a freeflow basis was being undertaken by Sisk, with a proposed completion date of 2022.It should not be confused with the Dunkettle Roundabout which is around 750m to the west.

Tivoli is an eastern suburb of Cork in Ireland. Tivoli is in the Dáil constituency of Cork North-Central. A station on the former Cork and Youghal Railway served the area between the 1860s and 1930s.The area is home to a number of bed and breakfast establishments and the Silver Springs Hotel. The cedar trees, still growing in the area, were reputedly planted by Sir Walter Raleigh, who lived there briefly.Tivoli's docks, part of the Port of Cork, provide container handling, facilities for oil, livestock and ore, as well as a roll-on/roll-off ferry ramp. The docks are a significant point of entry for imported motor vehicles. The docks are to be phased out as the Port of Cork moves further downriver to the Ringaskiddy area.

Lotabeg House is an Irish historic house in County Cork, used as a residence by Cork merchant families, built between 1780 and 1820. The house, gate lodge and entrance are listed buildings.

Blackrock Castle is a castellated fortification located at Blackrock, about 2 km from Cork city centre on the banks of the River Lee in Ireland. Originally developed as a coastal defence fortification in the 16th century to protect upper Cork Harbour and port, the site now houses an observatory, visitor centre and restaurant.
