Long Biên district

Gia Lâm station is a railway station in Vietnam, in the north eastern Long Biên District of Hanoi. It serves the city of Hanoi. It is the terminus of the standard-gauge railway linking Vietnam to China, known as the Hanoi–Đồng Đăng railway. The daily train to Nanning (610 km) departs from this station instead of the main Hanoi railway station, which is served only by metre gauge tracks, as does the Beijing–Nanning–Hanoi through train.

The Lycée français Alexandre Yersin (LFAY) is a French international school in Long Bien District, Hanoi, Vietnam. The school is under the purview of the Agency for French Education Abroad (Agence pour l'enseignement français à l'étranger (AEFE)), which manages all French state schools outside France. Long Biên Bridge (Vietnamese: Cầu Long Biên) is a historic cantilever bridge across the Red River that connects two districts, Hoàn Kiếm and Long Biên of the city of Hanoi, Vietnam. It was originally called Paul Doumer Bridge.

Research Institute for Aquaculture No 1, or RIA1, is a government organization under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Vietnam. RIA1 is responsible for carrying out basic and applied research programs for inland, coastal, and marine aquaculture, including involvement in planning and development activities. RIA1 is now considered a national multifunction institute dealing with research, education, and extension in aquaculture and aquatic resources management. The Institute also plays an advisory role for many other aquaculture development projects.RIA1 was established in 1963 initially as a freshwater fish research centre.

Gia Lâm is the easternmost urban district (quận) of Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. Prior to 2003, the district covered the entire area of Long Biên district, which included Long Biên Bridge, Gia Lâm Airport, Gia Lâm railway station, Gia Lâm bus station and the headquarters of Vietnam Airlines. On 22 September 2023, the Hanoi People Committee approved Gia Lam to become the next urban district of Hanoi.

The Vietnam National Museum of History (Vietnamese: Viện Bảo tàng Lịch sử Việt Nam) is in the Hoan Kiem district of Hanoi, Vietnam. The museum building was an archaeological research institution of the French School of the Far East under French colonial rule (Louis Finot École Française d'Extrême-Orient EFEO) of 1910, was extensively refurbished in 1920. It was redesigned between 1926 and 1932 by architect Ernest Hébrard. The museum was acquired by the government of North Vietnam (now the government of Vietnam) in 1958 and then the artifact collections were expanded to cover eastern arts and national history. The museum highlights Vietnam's prehistory (about 300,000–400,000 years ago) up to the August 1945 Revolution. It has over 200,000 exhibits displayed covering items from prehistory up to the 1947 revolution and founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, arranged in five major sections.

The Hanoi Opera House (French: Opéra de Hanoï), or the Grand Opera House (Vietnamese: Nhà hát lớn Hà Nội, French: Grand Opéra) is an opera house in central Hanoi, Vietnam. It was erected by the French colonial administration between 1901 and 1911. Hanoi Opera House is one of three opera houses that the French built during their time in Indochina, the others are Haiphong Opera House and Municipal Theatre in Ho Chi Minh city.

Đại La (Chinese: 大羅城; pinyin: Dàluóchéng), means the Citadel of the Great Dike, or La Thành (羅城, means the Citadel of the Dike) was an ancient fortified city in present-day Hanoi during the third Chinese domination of the 7th and 8th centuries, and again in the 11th-century under Lý dynasty.Đại La was constructed by jiedushi Gao Pian in 866. It was the seat of Songping County during the Tang dynasty, and was capital of the Tĩnh Hải quân. In 1010, Lý Công Uẩn decided to move his capital away from the cramped Hoa Lư (present-day Ninh Bình). Đại La was favored because of its central and convenient location, defensible terrain and relatively dry climate. According to the Đại Việt sử ký toàn thư, a Yellow Dragon appeared near Lý Công Uẩn's boat when he passed by Đại La. The sighting was considered as greatly auspicious by his ministers. Subsequently, the city was renamed Thăng Long ("rising dragon").
