St. James-Assiniboia School Division (SJASD) is a school division in the St. James-Assiniboia area of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The Assiniboine Park Pavilion is a landmark building at Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is today one of Winnipeg's most familiar landmarks.Among other things, the building houses the Pavilion Gallery Museum, a museum and art gallery that opened in 1998.

The Deer Lodge Curling Club located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is a six-sheet curling club located in the west part of the city. The club was established in 1919 and moved to the current location in the 1950s. In 2023, the Thistle Curling Club announced that they would be selling their location and merging their club with Deer Lodge Curling Club. The two clubs would retain their history and identity but continue to operate out of the same facility beginning in the fall of 2023. Barry Fry curled out of Deer Lodge Curling Club when he won the 1979 Macdonald Brier, going on to win bronze at the 1979 World Championships.

The St. James Civic Centre is a multipurpose recreation complex located in the St. James district of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The complex features an indoor ice hockey arena, swimming pool, and auditorium. Built in 1967, the St. James Civic Centre is owned and operated by the City of Winnipeg. The St. James Civic Centre arena has been one of the more prominent hockey venues in Winnipeg since its opening. With a seating capacity of 1,500, it is one of the larger arenas in the city. The facility is currently home to the St. James Canucks of the Manitoba Major Junior Hockey League and local minor hockey teams. The arena is also used for sledge hockey and ringette during the winter, as well as non-sporting activities during the summer. The pool and leisure centre includes a 25-yard*** swimming pool and weight room. In addition, there is a 350-seat auditorium and two meeting rooms. The facilities are available to the public year-round.

Bruce Park is a 13-acre (53,000 m2) urban park located at 1966 Portage Avenue, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The park is bordered to the south by the Assiniboine River, to the east by Douglas Park Road, to the west by Deer Lodge Place, and to the north by Portage Avenue. The park has three footbridges that cross the Truro Creek, which runs through the park. Features of the park include formal flower gardens, grassland and forest naturalization areas, the A.W. Hanks Walkway, the Bruce Park Cenotaph war memorial, a playground, and a wading pool. The park is open year-round.

Assiniboine Park Zoo is an 80-acre (32 ha) zoo at the west end of Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It has been best known for decades for its polar bear exhibit, of which the old enclosure was replaced in 2013 with Journey to Churchill. Established in 1904, it is managed by the Assiniboine Park Conservancy, and accredited by the Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums (CAZA) and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

St. James-Assiniboia is a major community area in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. As it encapsulates most of the city ward of St. James, which includes the major St. James Street, the area itself is often simply referred to "St. James."Located in the far western part of the city, it is bounded on the north by the Rural Municipality of Rosser and the Canadian National Railway's Oak Point line, on the south by the Assiniboine River, on the west by the Rural Municipality of Headingley, and on the east by the Canadian Pacific Railway's La Riviere line.The area today is composed of the several municipalities that existed prior to the amalgamation of Winnipeg in 1971/1972. It began in 1886 as the Rural Municipality of Assiniboia, parts of which broke off to form the RM of St. James in 1921 and the RM of Brooklands in 1922. In 1956, the RM of St. James was incorporated as the City of St. James, absorbing Brooklands 11 years later. In 1969, St. James and Assiniboia merged into the City of St. James-Assiniboia, remaining as such until the 1972 amalgamation.

While the lineage of 1 Canadian Forces Flying Training School (1 CFFTS; French: 1re École de pilotage des Forces canadiennes) can be traced back through previous similarly named Canadian military pilot flying schools, such as No. 1 Service Flying Training School and 1 Flying Training School, the unit located at CFB Winnipeg and currently bearing the name does not participate in pilot training.

The Air Force Heritage Museum and Air Park, in Winnipeg, Manitoba displays aircraft and artifacts pertaining to the history of the Canadian Air Force. The park contains memorials to Canadian air search and rescue, and to the people who trained under the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. The museum was established in 1975. Memorials in the park were dedicated in 1999. The air park has the largest permanent display of Canadian military aircraft in Canada. The attached museum has artifacts such as aviation art, Victoria Crosses (including the posthumous award to Andrew Mynarski), and one of the remaining Battle of Britain lace tapestries.Aircraft on static display include: CF 116 Freedom Fighter fighter CT 134 A Musketeer trainer CX 144 Challenger prototype air transport CH 136 Kiowa Helicopter CP-121 Tracker anti submarine warfare CF-104 Starfighter interceptor/fighter CF-101 Voodoo interceptor Harvard Mk. 4 Trainer CF 100 Canuck F86 Sabre Mk. St. James Collegiate is a grade 9 to 12 secondary school in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is part of the St. James-Assiniboia School Division. The school was the first secondary school established in the division but has since been transformed with a focus on technology programming. Recently the school's academic classes have begun to use a 21st-century approach rooted in UDL. Many teachers are infusing technology in their lesson design for the purposes of digital learning. The rich diversity of the student body greatly contributes to one of the most positive and engaged school cultures in the province of Manitoba.

Tuxedo is a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It was created by redistribution in 1979, and has formally existed since the provincial election of 1981. The riding is located in the southwest section of the city of Winnipeg. Tuxedo is bordered to the east by River Heights, to the south by Charleswood and Fort Whyte, to the north by St. James, and to the west by Charleswood. The riding's population in 1996 was 20,095. The average family income in 1999 was $89,350, almost $40,000 above the provincial average. The unemployment rate was 5.60%. Tuxedo has a significant Jewish population, at 8% of the total. Over 17% of the riding's residents are above 65 years of age, and over 28% have University degrees. Health and social services account for 16% of Tuxedo's industry, with a further 14% in the service sector. Tuxedo has been represented by Progressive Conservative MLAs since its creation. Both of which went on to become Premiers of the province. Former Premier Gary Filmon represented the riding between 1981 and his retirement in 2000. The current MLA is PC Party leader and Premier of Manitoba, Heather Stefanson.
