Bayet, Allier

The Bouble (French pronunciation: [bubl]) is a 65.4-kilometre (40.6 mi) long river in the Allier and Puy-de-Dôme departments in south central France. Its source is at Gouttières. Flowing generally northeast, the Bouble drains an area of 555 km2 (214 sq mi). It is a left tributary of the Sioule into which it flows between Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule and Bayet.

The Château de Chareil-Cintrat, also known as the Château du Bas-Chareil, is a late medieval château in France. It is located near Chareil-Cintrat, in the Allier department, Auvergne. The château was built at the end of the Middle Ages by the Chareil family. In the early 16th century, it was the home of Claude Morin, contrôleur ordinaire des guerres, who commissioned the Renaissance interior decorations after returning from military campaigns during the Italian Wars. During the French Revolution the property was sold by the revolutionary government. It was purchased by the French state on October 10, 1958, in the same year it was designated a monument historique. The château is now in the care of the Centre des monuments nationaux, and is open to the public. It comprises a rectangular main building, with round towers at the north-west and south-west corners.

The Arboretum de l'Ile de la Ronde (6 hectares) is an arboretum located in Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule, Allier, Auvergne, France. It is open daily; admission is free. The arboretum is set within a park on the Ile de la Rond, bordering the Sioule river, and contains walking paths among a variety of flowers and trees.

Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ puʁsɛ̃ syʁ sjul], literally Saint-Pourçain on Sioule; Auvergnat: Sant Porçanh de Siula) is a commune in the Allier department in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in central France. It is named after Saint Pourçain, a 6th century AD freed slave who was founder of a local monastery.
