General Nathanael Greene Homestead

Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish - designated for Polish immigrants in Coventry, Rhode Island (Former Quidnick village), United States. Founded in 1905, it is one of the Polish-American Roman Catholic parishes in New England in the Diocese of Providence.

Quidnick is a village within the town of Coventry, Rhode Island. Before the American Revolution the area where Anthony and Quidnick are today was originally named Greeneville for the Greene Family who had operated an iron forge in the mid-18th century. By 1811 the village was renamed Taftville for Stephen Taft a local cotton manufacturer. After the Sprague family acquired the village in 1840, they changed the name to Quidnick, which is a Native American word meaning “at the end of the hill.” The current Quidnick Mill Complex was constructed in 1848.

The Arctic Playhouse is a non-profit theater in West Warwick, Rhode Island located at 1249 Main Street in the village of Arctic, Rhode Island.

WWRI (1450 AM) is a radio station licensed to West Warwick, Rhode Island, and serving the Providence metropolitan area. The station is owned by Chris DiPaola, through licensee DiPonti Communications, LLC, and broadcasts a classic rock radio format. WWRI transmits with 1,000 watts of power. It is also heard on FM translator W288EE in West Warwick, at 105.5 MHz. It uses the FM translator’s frequency in its moniker "I-105.5."

The Crompton Mill Historic District is a historic district encompassing a mill complex at 20 Remington Street, 53 and 65 Manchester Street in West Warwick, Rhode Island. The mill complex consists of a collection of mainly brick buildings, bounded by the Pawtuxet River and Pulaski, Remington, and Manchester Streets in the village of Crompton. The mill complex formerly extended across the river, but the complex on the west bank was destroyed by fire in 1992. The oldest elements of the complex are the dam site and some of the raceways that provided water power to the mills. The present dam was built in 1908, replacing an 1882 structure. The raceways were built in 1807, around the time of the first mill buildings. The stone Mill No. 1, built 1807, is believed to be the oldest stone mill building in the state. Most of the complex's buildings were built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by the Providence Manufacturing Company and its successors. The mill was used for textile (mainly cotton) processing until 1946, when the Crompton Corporation ended production.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Paine House Museum is an historic house at 7 Station Street in the village of Washington in the town Coventry, Rhode Island. The oldest portion of this large 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house may have been built as early as 1691 by Samuel Bennett, who was known to operate a sawmill on the nearby Pawtuxet River. The house was significantly enlarged c. 1748 by Francis Brayton. His son, Francis Jr., was granted a license to operate a tavern on the premises in 1785. The property was acquired by the Paine family in 1866, whose descendants gave it to the Western Rhode Island Civic Historical Society in 1953.The house has been furnished to reflect the Colonial era, and is now operated by the society as a historic house museum. Visitation is from May through September on Saturdays. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

The U.S. State of Rhode Island currently has two statistical areas that have been delineated by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). On March 6, 2020, the OMB delineated the Providence-Warwick, RI-MA Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Boston-Worcester-Providence, MA-RI-NH-CT Combined Statistical Area. All five counties of Rhode Island are a part of both the Providence-Warwick, RI-MA Metropolitan Statistical Area and the more extensive Boston-Worcester-Providence, MA-RI-NH-CT Combined Statistical Area.

The Crompton Free Library is a historic library building in West Warwick, Rhode Island. The small single-story wood-frame building was constructed in 1876, with funding from local mill owners. It is an excellent local example of a small Stick style public structure.

Tiogue (formerly Barclay or Pleasant Vale) is a village in Coventry, Rhode Island near the village of Washington. Fones Potter (1759-1833), an American Revolution veteran, started a textile mill in the area, which was originally named Pleasant Vale. The Potters named it "Barclay" after the eighteenth-century Scottish Quaker Minister and Writer, Robert Barclay. Potter sold the mill and water rights to Jabez Anthony and Perez Peck who founded the Rope Walk, a manufacturer of anchor rope, twine, and cotton banding and built a long rope twisting building on a stream flowing from the Tiogue Reservoir in the area bordered by Holmes Road, Lydia Road, York Drive, and Arnold Road. Anthony's son and grandson continued the business after his death. By the late nineteenth century the mill closed and a summer colony developed around Lake Tiogue, which has largely altered the village and the only two nineteenth century buildings that remain are the William H. Anthony House located on Holmes Road and the Samuel Tarbox House located on Arnold Road.

Blackrock is a village in Kent County, Rhode Island, United States, located in the town of Coventry between the villages of Anthony and Arkwright. The area was named after a large dark rock which was rumored to be the site of Native American marriage ceremonies. The rock is located on Blackrock Road. The village of 40 people was founded in 1814 when William Greene first sold a parcel of his land to the Black Rock Cotton Manufacturing Company for the initial construction of a dam on the Black Rock Brook which flows from Black Rock Pond. The dam provided power for a mill. Nicholas Potter bought the mill in 1824 and converted it into a machine shop and later a broom factory. Samuel Greene was a prominent teacher in the area. With expansion, the village of Blackrock is now largely a continuation of the village of Anthony. There is an elementary school named after the Black Rock.

Washington is a village within the town of Coventry in Kent County, Rhode Island, and is part of the Pawtuxet River Valley .

The South Main Street Historic District is a historic district in Coventry, Rhode Island. It extends along South Main Street from its crossing of the South Branch of the Pawtuxet River in the north, to just below Wood Street in the south, and includes a few properties on immediately adjacent streets. The area is almost entire residential, and was developed in the 19th century, providing housing for middle-class workers not directly affiliated with the mills that lined the river. About half the houses were built before 1850, and exhibit either Federal or Greek Revival styling, while most of the remaining houses were built before 1920. The principal non-residential structures are a VFW hall, which began as a mid-19th century residential structure associated with Rhode Island's prominent Whipple family, the Stillwater Company mill at the northern end of the district (1914), and the three-room Cady Street Schoolhouse (1844).The area was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
