The University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and Applied Science, more commonly known as Penn Engineering or SEAS, is an undergraduate and graduate school of the University of Pennsylvania. The School offers programs that emphasize hands-on study of engineering fundamentals (with an offering of approximately 300 courses) while encouraging students to leverage the educational offerings of the broader University. Engineering students can also take advantage of research opportunities through interactions with Penn’s School of Medicine, School of Arts and Sciences and the Wharton School.Penn Engineering offers bachelors, masters and Ph.D. degree programs in contemporary fields of engineering study. The nationally ranked bioengineering department offers the School’s most popular undergraduate degree program. The Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology, offered in partnership with the Wharton School, allows students to simultaneously earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. SEAS also offers several masters programs, which include: Executive Master’s in Technology Management, Master of Biotechnology, Master of Computer and Information Technology, Master of Computer and Information Science and a Master of Science in Engineering in Telecommunications and Networking.

ENIAC (; Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer) was the first programmable, electronic, general-purpose digital computer, completed in 1945. There were other computers that had these features, but the ENIAC had all of them in one package. It was Turing-complete and able to solve "a large class of numerical problems" through reprogramming.Although ENIAC was designed and primarily used to calculate artillery firing tables for the United States Army's Ballistic Research Laboratory (which later became a part of the Army Research Laboratory), its first program was a study of the feasibility of the thermonuclear weapon.ENIAC was completed in 1945 and first put to work for practical purposes on December 10, 1945.ENIAC was formally dedicated at the University of Pennsylvania on February 15, 1946, having cost $487,000 (equivalent to $5,900,000 in 2020), and was heralded as a "Giant Brain" by the press. It had a speed on the order of one thousand times faster than that of electro-mechanical machines; this computational power, coupled with general-purpose programmability, excited scientists and industrialists alike. The combination of speed and programmability allowed for thousands more calculations for problems. As ENIAC calculated a trajectory in 30 seconds that took a human 20 hours, one ENIAC could replace 2,400 humans.ENIAC was formally accepted by the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps in July 1946. It was transferred to Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland in 1947, where it was in continuous operation until 1955.

The Palestra, often called the Cathedral of College Basketball, is a historic arena and the home gym of the Penn Quakers men's and women's basketball teams, volleyball teams, wrestling team, and Philadelphia Big 5 basketball. Located at 235 South 33rd St. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, near Franklin Field in the University City section of Philadelphia, it opened on January 1, 1927. The Palestra has been called "the most important building in the history of college basketball" and "changed the entire history of the sport for which it was built."The arena originally seated about 10,000, but now seats 8,725 for basketball. The Palestra is famed for its close-to-the-court seating with the bleachers ending at the floor with no barrier to separate the fans from the game. At the time of its construction, the Palestra was one of the world's largest arenas. It was one of the first steel-and-concrete arenas in the United States and also one of the first to be constructed without interior pillars blocking the view. Since its inception, the Palestra has hosted more games, more visiting teams, and more NCAA tournaments than any other facility in college basketball.

The College of Arts and Sciences (CoAS) is one of the many colleges at Drexel University. It was formed in 1990 when Drexel merged the two existing College of Sciences and College of Humanities together.

The 1960 NFL Championship Game was the 28th NFL title game. The game was played on Monday, December 26, at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.In addition to the landmark 1958 championship game, in which the Baltimore Colts defeated the New York Giants in sudden death overtime, the 1960 game has also been called a key event in football history. The game marked the lone playoff defeat for Packers coach Vince Lombardi before his Packers team established a dynasty that won five NFL championships, as well as the first two Super Bowls, in a span of seven seasons.The victory was the third NFL title for the Philadelphia Eagles, and was also their last championship until the team won Super Bowl LII 57 years later. The American Football League was in its first season, and held its inaugural title game less than a week later. First-year NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle convinced owners to move the league's headquarters from Philadelphia to New York City, and with Congressional passage of the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961, received an antitrust exemption that allowed the league to negotiate a common broadcasting network representing all of its teams, helping cement football's ascendancy as a national sport.This was the second and last NFL Championship Game played in Philadelphia, and the only one at Franklin Field: the 1948 Championship Game, held in a snowstorm at Shibe Park, was also won by the Eagles. Ticket prices for the game were ten and eight dollars. This is also the only year from 1958 to 1963 that did not include the New York Giants in the Championship Game.

The University of Pennsylvania (Penn or UPenn) is a private Ivy League research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Established in 1740, it is the fourth-oldest institution of higher education in the United States and among the highest ranked universities in the world. It is also one of nine colonial colleges chartered before the U.S. Declaration of Independence. Benjamin Franklin, the university's founder and first president, advocated for an educational institution that trained leaders in academia, commerce, and public service. Penn has four undergraduate schools as well as twelve graduate and professional schools. Schools enrolling undergraduates include the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the Wharton School, and the School of Nursing. Penn's "One University Policy" allows students to enroll in classes in any of Penn's twelve schools. Among its highly ranked graduate and professional schools are a law school whose first professor wrote the first draft of the United States Constitution, the first school of medicine in North America in 1765, and the first collegiate business school (Wharton School, 1881). The university's athletics program, the Quakers, fields varsity teams in 33 sports as a member of the NCAA Division I Ivy League conference. As of 2018, distinguished alumni and trustees include 2 Presidents of the United States, 3 U.S. Supreme Court justices, 32 U.S. senators, 163 members of the U.S. House of Representatives, 12 U.S. Cabinet Secretaries, 46 U.S. governors, 8 signers of the Declaration of Independence and 7 signers of the U.S. Constitution, 24 members of the Continental Congress, 9 foreign heads of state, and ambassadors to 51 different countries. As of October 2019, 36 Nobel laureates, 80 members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, 64 living billionaires, 28 of whom are alumni of Penn's undergraduate schools (one less than leader Harvard) 21 Marshall Scholars, 33 Rhodes Scholars, 16 Pulitzer Prize winners, alumni who have won 20 Tony Awards, 16 Grammy Awards, 11 Emmy Awards, and 4 Academy Awards (Oscars), an EGOT recipient, 43 Olympic medal winners (who won 81 medals, 26 of them gold), 2 NASA astronauts, and 5 United States Medal of Honor recipients have been affiliated with the university.

Franklin Field is an American sports stadium located in Philadelphia at the eastern edge of the University of Pennsylvania's campus. It is the home stadium for the Penn Relays, and is the University of Pennsylvania's stadium for football, track and field, lacrosse and formerly for soccer, field hockey and baseball. It is also used by Penn students for recreation, and for intramural and club sports, including touch football and cricket, and is the site of Penn's graduation exercises, weather permitting. According to the NCAA, Franklin Field is the oldest stadium still operating for football (although substantially renovated). It was the first college stadium in the United States with a scoreboard or an upper deck of seats. In 1922, it was the site of the first radio broadcast of a football game in 1922 on WIP, as well as of the first television broadcast of a football game by Philco.From 1958 until 1970, the stadium was the home field of the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League.

The University of Pennsylvania College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) is the oldest undergraduate college at the University of Pennsylvania, a private Ivy League university, situated on the university's main campus in University City, Philadelphia. The college traces its roots to the establishment of a secondary school known as Unnamed Charity School in 1740. In 1749, Benjamin Franklin and twenty-one leading citizens of Philadelphia officially founded a secondary school named Academy of Philadelphia. In 1755, the secondary school was expanded to include a collegiate division known as College of Philadelphia. The secondary and collegiate institutions were known collectively as The Academy and College of Philadelphia. The college received its charter from Thomas Penn and Richard Penn. Penn CAS is the oldest institution of higher learning in the state of Pennsylvania and the sixth-oldest chartered college in the United States. Penn is distinctive for its comprehensive "One University Policy," which allows students to enroll in classes in any of Penn's twelve schools, including the law school and the Wharton School. The college is the 13th most selective undergraduate school in the United States and 6th most selective in the Ivy League having accepted only 8.39% of its applicants for the Class of 2022.

Drexel University is a private research university with its main campus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Drexel's undergraduate school was founded in 1891 by Anthony J. Drexel, a financier and philanthropist. Founded as Drexel Institute of Art, Science and Industry, it was renamed Drexel Institute of Technology in 1936, before assuming its current name in 1970. The medical school which Drexel acquired in 1993 was founded in 1850 (and originally known as Female Medical College of Pennsylvania) changed its name in (a) 1867 to Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania and (b) 1970 to Medical College of Pennsylvania (when it decided to admit men). The medical school merged in 1993 with Hahnemann Medical College, which was founded in 1867. As of 2020, more than 24,000 students were enrolled in over 70 undergraduate programs and more than 100 master's, doctoral, and professional programs at the university. Drexel's cooperative education program (co-op) is a prominent aspect of the school's degree programs, offering students the opportunity to gain up to 18 months of paid, full-time work experience in a field relevant to their undergraduate major or graduate degree program prior to graduation.

The Class of 1923 Arena is the skating rink of the University of Pennsylvania. In 1968, alumni from the Class of 1923 formed the group "Friends of Pennsylvania Hockey," led by Howard Butcher, III. Butcher himself donated over $3 million for the creation of the facility, and along with John Cleveland and Bill R. Wise, organized the largest class donation in the history of the university. The arena was named after the class to commemorate its generosity. The arena is located in the eastern part of Penn's campus in the University City section of Philadelphia. It can seat nearly 3,000 people. The building, designed by Robert C. McMillian Associates, was constructed primarily of poured concrete and is supported by four 22-foot concrete columns. The lower concourse includes locker rooms for the university's teams, food services, and the "Quaker Room", which overlooks the rink. The ice surface itself measures 85' × 200' and totals 18,000 square feet (1,700 m2). The upper concourse includes restrooms and old concession stands that are no longer in use, with entrances on Walnut Street. The Class of 1923 Arena is the second-largest collegiate hockey venue in Pennsylvania, after Penn State's Pegula Ice Arena. While best known for the skating rink that is in the arena during the regular hockey season (September to March), throughout the rest of the year the ice is removed and the arena is used for other events, such as Wharton's Fight Night or Roller Derby.The arena has hosted a variety of teams. In ice hockey, it most notably hosted the Penn varsity men's team from the arena's opening until the school dropped varsity hockey after the 1977–78 season, and has hosted the school's club-level men's and women's teams ever since. It has also hosted club hockey teams from other Philadelphia-area schools, and has hosted practices and exhibition games for the Philadelphia Flyers. In roller hockey, it has hosted the Philadelphia Bulldogs professional team. The arena also regularly hosts teams from the National Hockey League, when the teams don't have time to travel home for their regular morning skate. The arena is the home of the Philadelphia Fiesta Ice Hockey Club (a.k.a. The Saturday Morning Game), a men's travel tournament team who were the CanAm Cup (Montreal) gold medal champions in 2001, 2003 and 2005. Prince and The Revolution performed a concert on November 24, 1982, during the "1999" tour. The opening acts included; Vanity 6 and The Time. In 2016, the arena was home to the Philadelphia Yellow Jackets of American Indoor Football. However, on May 11, 2016, the university voided their contract with the Yellow Jackets due to a lack of payment. This led to the cancellation of the Yellow Jackets' last three home games.

Edgar Fahs Smith is a monumental statue located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The statue was designed by sculptor R. Tait McKenzie and honors its namesake, a former provost of the university.

Meyerson Hall is a building in West Philadelphia, and the site of the University of Pennsylvania School of Design. The building, designed by the architecture firm of Martin, Stewart, Noble & Class, was constructed in 1967 in reinforced concrete, brick cavity wall, and asbestos, with a total area of the building is 93,780 square feet (8,712 m2). It is named for Martin Meyerson, President of the University of Pennsylvania from 1970 to 1981. Meyerson Hall is located at the corner of Walnut Street and South 34th Street in University City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Immediately adjacent to the south is the Fisher Fine Arts Library, designed by Frank Furness and completed in 1890. Immediately to the west is the College Green, the heart of the University. The building currently houses the main offices of the following departments of the School of Design: Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Historic Preservation, and City and Regional Planning. Fine Arts is the only department in the school not housed in Meyerson, and is located across 34th St. in the Morgan Building. The Basement contains the newly opened PennDesign Cafe, eight lecture halls, custodial staff support spaces, and the materials library. The Ground Floor contains the main lobby, Lower Gallery, faculty offices and the Operations and Planning office. The First Floor contains departmental offices for Landscape Architecture, Preservation, and Urban Planning, Dean's Alley critique space, the Upper Gallery, and offices for the Dean, Alumni Affairs, Admissions, and the Registrar. The Second Floor contains offices for Architecture, as well as studio space. The Third Floor contains two computer labs, a plotter room, student lounge (with vending machines), and additional architecture studio space. The Fourth Floor contains studios for Landscape Architecture and Historic Preservation, the Architectural Conservation Laboratory, the Fabrication Laboratory, and the 4th Floor Hall critique space.
