The Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants is a statewide professional association that provides leadership, training, advocacy and resources for its nearly 10,000 certified public accountant-members, who are employed in private practice, industry, government, and education. As CPAs, the MACPA’s members are business and financial professionals who are committed to protecting the public interest. In Maryland, CPAs must pass a rigorous four-part examination, adhere to strict ethical and professional standards and, beyond college, complete 80 hours of continuing education every two years to be certified by the state. The MACPA is governed by a board of directors, managed by a full-time staff, guided by a strategic plan, and constantly striving to serve the needs of Maryland's certified public accountants.

Goucher College ( GOW-chər) is a private liberal arts college in Towson, Maryland. Founded in 1885 as a non-denominational women's college in Baltimore's central district, the college is named for pastor and missionary John F. Goucher, who enlisted local leaders of the Methodist Episcopal Church to establish the school's charter. Goucher relocated to its present Towson campus in 1953 and became coeducational in 1986.Goucher grants BA and BS degrees in a range of disciplines across 31 majors and 39 minors. Goucher is among the few colleges in the United States to require all undergraduates spend a semester studying abroad. Goucher is a member of the Landmark Conference and competes in the NCAA's Division III in lacrosse, tennis, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and horseback riding. Goucher partners with nearby Johns Hopkins University, Loyola University Maryland, and the University of Baltimore to allow students to earn accelerated post-graduate or combined undergraduate degrees. Goucher also offers a postbaccalaureate premedical program, master's programs in the arts and humanities, and professional development courses in writing and education. As of 2023, Goucher enrolls approximately 1,100 undergraduates and 900 post-graduates. Loren Pope profiled Goucher among forty institutions of higher learning in his 1996 book Colleges That Change Lives.Goucher counts notable alumni in law, business, journalism, academia, and government, including conservative journalist Jonah Goldberg, former First Lady of Puerto Rico Lucé Vela, Judge Ellen Lipton Hollander of the District Court for the District of Maryland, 27th Vice Commandant of the United States Coast Guard Sally Brice-O'Hara, former president of First Republic Bank Katherine August-DeWilde, and the third president of California State University, San Marcos, Karen S. Haynes.

Towson Town Center is a large indoor shopping mall located in Towson, Maryland. It was the largest indoor shopping mall in Maryland prior to the completion of Arundel Mills in late 2000 in Hanover and the 2007 expansion of Westfield Annapolis.

Hampton National Historic Site, in the Hampton area north of Towson, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA, preserves a remnant of a vast 18th-century estate, including a Georgian manor house, gardens, grounds, and the original stone slave quarters. The estate was owned by the Ridgely family for seven generations, from 1745 to 1948. The Hampton Mansion was the largest private home in America when it was completed in 1790 and today is considered to be one of the finest examples of Georgian architecture in the U.S. Its furnishings, together with the estate's slave quarters and other preserved structures, provide insight into the life of late 18th-century and early 19th-century landowning aristocracy. In 1948, Hampton was the first site selected as a National Historical Site for its architectural significance by the U.S. National Park Service. The grounds were widely admired in the 19th century for their elaborate parterres or formal gardens, which have been restored to resemble their appearance during the 1820s. Several trees are more than 200 years old. In addition to the mansion and grounds, visitors may tour the overseer's house and slave quarters, one of the few plantations having its original slave quarters surviving to the present day.

WMJF-CD (channel 39) is a low-power, Class A television station licensed to Towson, Maryland, United States, serving the Baltimore area. The station is owned by HME Equity Fund II, LLC, and has a transmitter on Maryland Route 45 near the Towson Town Center mall.

George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology, also known just as the Carver Center is a Baltimore County-wide public magnet high school originally established in 1992 as one of three geographically spread technology high schools, (others established earlier in 1970 were Western and Eastern Technical High Schools - [original names]). The Central Technical High School, was located in Towson, the county seat in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. In any given year, just under 1,000 students attend, and typical class size is just under 20. The high school is primarily known for its eleven "Primes", for which students must apply in order to be accepted to the school. The school is distinguished in many categories, mainly its many art achievements. Students from all of the middle schools throughout Baltimore County, as well as those who were "homeschooled", can apply to attend Carver Center, although it may be much farther from their houses and communities than their home regional/neighborhood high school. Admission is based on a combination of an audition and a lottery.

Immaculate Conception School, is a Roman Catholic elementary school located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore in the United States. It is affiliated with Immaculate Conception Parish and located in Towson, MD.

Towson Catholic High School was a private Catholic, co-educational high school in the Baltimore suburb of Towson, Maryland, whose closing was announced in July 2009. At its peak enrollment in the 1960s and 1970s, more than 400 children attended. Founded in 1922 by a Catholic priest, Phillip Sheridan, it was the oldest co-educational Catholic high school in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore when it closed. During its 86 years, the small school was long noted for its successful athletics program as well as personalized secondary-level education.

The Recher is a concert venue in Towson, Maryland. It is located at 512 York Road in the building previously operated as the Towson Theatre, a one-screen movie theater. The Towson Theatre was designed by architect John Ahlers of the George Norbury MacKenzie III architectural firm. It cost $100,000 to build and opened on March 1, 1928. The theatre was sold to the Recher family in the 1950s, who continued running the cinema into the 1990s. They then converted it into an upscale billiard parlor. The building was later transformed into The Recher Theatre, a concert venue, which opened in 1999. The small venue with a capacity of only 700 hosted many national acts over the years, including: Aimee Mann, Andrew W.K., All Time Low, Anberlin, Bo Diddley, Boondox, Breaking Benjamin, Buckethead, Buckcherry, Charlie Daniels Band, Cheap Trick, Crack The Sky, Danyul Reyman Blues Band, Danzig, Dark Star Orchestra, Demon Hunter, Disco Biscuits, Electric Light Orchestra, Flaming Lips, Fuel, George Clinton, Good Charlotte, Iggy Pop, Jeffree Star, Judas Priest, Linkin Park, Little Feat, O.A.R., Papa Roach, Puddle of Mudd, Reel Big Fish, Robert Cray, Shinedown, Slayer, They Might Be Giants, Third Eye Blind, The White Stripes, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Mr. Bungle, and Zakk Wylde.

Towson Square, originally known as Towson Circle III while in planning, is an outdoor mall constructed between 2013 and 2014 in Towson, Maryland. The outdoor mall is estimated to cost have $85 million to be built by its developers, Cordish Company and Heritage Properties, Inc.. It was to be anchored by a 16-screen movie theater operated by Cinemark. The Cinemark theater somewhere between its initial announcement and its construction was reduced by 1 screen and officially opened on Thursday, July 10, 2014, as a 15-screen theater. The development now occupies an area that was primarily parking lots located between East Joppa Road, Delaware, Virginia, and East Pennsylvania avenues. The developer intended to incorporate into a planned park an existing, an historic cemetery that borders on Shealy Avenue. Shealy Avenue crosses roughly through the center of the development's property. On Thursday, July 10, 2014, Cinemark officially opened its 15 screen movie theater at Towson Square as part of its 30-year anniversary celebrations. The theater featured Cinemark's then newest concept, a reserve level where people could actually reserve specific luxury seats in a special area and have an expanded food selection and alcoholic beverages. It also features Cinemark's NextGen concept that has been described as offering "the latest technology and amenities under one roof." The Baltimore Sun reported that the Towson Cinemark theater is Cinemark's official international flagship movie theater, replacing its former international flagship location in Dallas, Texas. In 2014 Towson Square was sold to Retail Properties of America Inc for $40.5 million, thus allowing them to integrate the development adjacent into one entity called Circle East.Current tenants include Bonefish Grill, BJ's Restaurant, Cinemark, Ethan Allen, Nando's, On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina, Shake Shack, and Urban Outfitters.

Baltimore County ( BAWL-tim-or, locally: bawl-da-MOR or BAWL-mər) is the third-most populous county in the U.S. state of Maryland. It is part of the Baltimore metropolitan area. Baltimore County partly surrounds but does not include the independent city of Baltimore. It is part of the Northeast megalopolis, which stretches from Northern Virginia in the south to Boston in the north and includes major American population centers, including New York City and Philadelphia. Major economic sectors in the county include education, government, and health care. As of the 2020 census, the population was 854,535. The county is home to several universities, including Goucher College, Stevenson University, Towson University, and University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Towson Calvary Baptist Church, at 120 West Pennsylvania Ave, Towson, Maryland, was completed in 1929.It is a gothic building built from the stone, concrete and aggregate supplied by the nearby Campbell quarry, which had its headquarters on the same block. The Harry Tyler Campbell company ultimately became the successful producers of Camel-Wite, an early whiting ingredient for paint, paper, rubber and plastic and Sakrete, a popular pre-mixed concrete formulation.The structure is the second church building on the grounds. The first Calvary Baptist Church began meeting in 1890 and established their original wood-frame building at this address two years later (1892). The original building burned in 1929. The original 19th-century Baptist parsonage survived the fire and is currently leased for offices.
