Kent City High School is a public high school located in Kent City, Michigan (U.S.). The principal of the school is Jordan Stuhan. The athletic teams are known as the Eagles. They compete in the Central State Activities Association in its Silver Division. The first graduating class was 1909.

The Grant Public School District is a K–12 public school district located in Grant, Michigan. The district operates in the City of Grant, and the townships of Ashland, Bridgeton, Ensley, Grant, and portions of Casnovia, Garfield, Solon, Tyrone, and Moorland. It is a constituent of the Newaygo County Regional Educational Service Agency, (NCRESA) which is Newaygo County's Intermediate School District. Grant Public Schools student enrollment is 1,983 (2013–14), which is the second-largest in Newaygo County.

The Grant Depot and Water Tower (or The Grand Rapids, Newaygo and Lake Shore Railroad Company Depot and Water Tower) is a state historical site in Grant, Michigan. The railroad depot and water tower were built in 1891 by the Chicago and West Michigan Railroad, and within a few years became part of the Pere Marquette System. The water tower is believed to be the last original wooden water tower in the State of Michigan, and the site was added to the Michigan State Historical Registry on June 10, 1980.

Paul C. Miller–Sparta Airport (FAA LID: 8D4) is a public airport located 3 mi (5 km) southeast of Sparta, Michigan. Established in 1941, the airport is currently owned and operated by the Village of Sparta and is self-supporting, requiring no public funding. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a regional general aviation facility.The airport has a 4,033 x 75 ft. E-W primary runway. The airport is used for primarily for general aviation and currently has flight training, through either Sparta Aviation Services or the West Michigan Flight Academy. 100LL and Mogas fuels are available 24 hours a day via a self-serve pump.

Solon Township is a civil township of Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 5,974 at the 2010 census, a large increase from 4,662 at the 2000 census.It is part of the Grand Rapids metropolitan area and is located about 15 miles (24 km) north of the city of Grand Rapids.
