George Bush Intercontinental Airport

Skyway (formerly TerminaLink) is an automated people mover system operating at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas. The system is 0.7 miles (1.1 km) long, and runs along the north side of the airport, beyond airport security. The system serves all of the airport's five terminals, with four stations at Terminal A, Terminal B, Terminal C, and International Terminal D/E, respectively. Skyway, which operates airside, is one of two people movers currently operating at Bush Intercontinental Airport. The other people mover, which operates landside, opened in 1969 and is known as the Subway. The system uses Innovia APM 100 vehicles, which are powered from a 600-volt third rail. There are a total of 12 vehicles in the system, and each vehicle travels at 30 mph (50 km/h) and can hold up to 80 passengers. The same type of vehicles are also found at Denver International Airport (Automated Guideway Transit System), Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (The Plane Train), San Francisco International Airport (AirTrain), and Tampa International Airport.

Chester W. Nimitz Senior High School is a public secondary school made up of two campuses located in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, United States. The campuses have Houston addresses. The school is located directly across the street from Lone Star College–North Harris and west of Bush Intercontinental Airport The school serves portions of Houston, the Aldine Independent School District portion of Humble, and unincorporated areas of Harris County. Nimitz is one of five comprehensive high schools in Aldine ISD. The main campus serves 10th through 12th grade, while Nimitz Ninth Grade Center serves 9th grade.

The Aldine Independent School District is a public school district based in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, United States. It serves portions of Houston and unincorporated Harris County. Aldine ISD serves the communities of Aldine, most of Greenspoint, most of East Aldine, and portions of Airline, Acres Homes, Kinwood, Bordersville, and Inwood Forest. The M.O. Campbell Educational Center is an indoor arena in Houston, Texas. The facility serves as the home basketball and volleyball court for the five high schools in the Aldine Independent School District (AISD). The Campbell Center is also used for graduations, theatrical performances, meetings, conferences, banquets and community events. The arena seats 7,000 people and is located on Aldine-Bender Road just south of Beltway 8, a short distance from George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Greenspoint Mall. It is named for M.O. Campbell, who served as AISD superintendent from 1973 to 1986 and who is credited with moving the district to a cash-basis operation.The Campbell Center has hosted many events in its history, including the men's and women's Southland Conference collegiate basketball tournament, the Houston vs. the Nation high school basketball tournament (formerly the Academy National Invitational), the Texas Class 4A and 5A Region III high school basketball playoffs, the Class 5A high school Region III volleyball playoffs, and the University Interscholastic League state powerlifting tournament.

W.W. Thorne Stadium, an American football and soccer venue, is the home stadium of the Aldine Independent School District's (Aldine ISD) five varsity high school football teams - the Aldine Mustangs, Davis Falcons, Eisenhower Eagles, MacArthur Generals and Nimitz Cougars of District 18-6A, as well as for each schools' varsity boys and girls soccer teams. Thorne Stadium is located in north Houston, Texas, on Aldine-Bender Road just south of Beltway 8, a short distance from George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Greenspoint Mall. It is part of the Aldine ISD Athletic Complex, which includes Thorne Stadium, the M.O. Campbell Center for basketball and volleyball, Elliott Lansford Field for baseball, and the Aldine ISD Softball Complex for softball.Thorne Stadium seats approximately 10,000 fans and has parking for 1,600 cars. The home stands are located on the west side, while the east side is the visitors’ side. The playing field is at ground level while each set of stands is built into an artificial earthen embankment. Fans enter the stadium through four gates situated at the top of each corner of the facility. Concessions and restrooms are located adjacent to the entrances. Thorne Stadium's amenities include a FieldTurf artificial playing surface and a 36-foot by 19-foot Spectrum video scoreboard located in the north end of the stadium. There are also two air-conditioned dressing rooms, two training rooms, an officials’ dressing room and a conference room (all located in the adjoining M.O. Campbell Center arena in the south end of the stadium). Thorne Stadium's press box contains facilities for scoreboard/clock operation, TV/radio broadcasts, newspaper reporting, game filming and several coaches’ boxes.In addition to hosting Aldine ISD varsity football and soccer games, Thorne Stadium has often been used by other southeast Texas schools as a neutral playoff site. The facility was also the home stadium for the Blue Chip Classic high school all-star football game.The St. Louis BattleHawks of the XFL will use the stadium for its preseason training camp from January 4-22, 2020.As of 2022, Thorne Stadium is currently undergoing a major renovation which will be expected to be completed by 2024.

Cypress Creek is a stream that flows from Snake Creek and Mound Creek in Waller County, Texas to its mouth at Spring Creek in Harris County, Texas. It is part of the Cypress Creek watershed, and flows into the west fork of the San Jacinto River watershed- eventually flowing to the Gulf of Mexico. The banks of this creek were a settling location for German immigrants in the 1840s. The settlement was later named the city of Cypress, Texas.

Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens (over 250 acres) are county botanical gardens with an arboretum and natural areas located at 22306 Aldine Westfield Road in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, United States. They are open daily with free admission. The gardens are named after Thelma and Charles Mercer, who purchased 14.5 acres (59,000 m2) in the late 1940s for their home and garden. They preserved native trees such as dogwoods, cabbage palmettos, rusty blackhaw viburnum, and hawthorns, and introduced camellias and exotic tree species such as ginkgo, bauhinia, philadelphus, camphor, and tung oil. The property was purchased by Harris County in 1974, and has grown to 325 acres (1.32 km2).The gardens include an Azalea trail, hills, a Bald Cypress Pond, a Bamboo Garden, an Endangered Species Garden, an Herb Garden, a Hickory Bog, the Jake Roberts Maple Collection, the Post Oak Uplands, a Prehistoric Garden, a Rock Garden, the William D. Lee Iris Collection, Perennial Gardens, a Tropical Garden, a playground, picnic tables, walking paths, and a gift shop.

Westfield is an unincorporated community in Harris County, Texas, United States, located along Interstate 45 and the Union Pacific Railroad nineteen miles (30 km) north of Downtown Houston.
