Kópavogur College

Kópavogsvöllur (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈkʰouːpaˌvɔksˌvœtlʏr̥]) is a multi-use stadium in Kópavogur, Iceland. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Breiðablik. It is also used for track and field events. The stadium holds 3,009 spectators and has 1,709 seats in two stands.The stadium was opened on 7 June 1975, when home team Breiðablik hosted Víkingur Ólafsvík in the old 2nd division. On 9 May 2008, a new stand was opened by Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, Iceland's Minister of Education, Science and Culture. The new stand has 1,360 seats and is roofed. The stand also houses the changing rooms for the stadium, as well as lounges.In 2019, the grass was replaced with artificial turf.

Borgarspítalinn (English: City Hospital) was an Icelandic hospital located in Fossvogur, Reykjavík from 1967 until 1996 when it merged with St. Jósefsspítali to form Reykjavík Hospital. Reykjavík Hospital then merged with Landspítali in 2000 to form the National University Hospital of Iceland.

Kópavogur (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈkʰouːpaˌvɔːɣʏr̥]) is a town in Iceland that is the country's second largest municipality by population. It lies immediately south of Reykjavík and is part of the Capital Region. The name literally means seal pup inlet. The town seal contains the profile of the church Kópavogskirkja with a seal pup underneath. Kópavogur is largely made up of residential areas, but has commercial areas and much industrial activity as well. The tallest building in Iceland, the Smáratorg Tower, is located in central Kópavogur.

Smáralind (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈsmauːraˌlɪnt]) is a shopping mall located in the Capital Region of Iceland. It is one of the biggest shopping malls in Iceland, with over ninety shops, restaurants and services. Designed by BDP and built by ÍSTAK, it was opened on 10 October 2001 at 10:10 GMT. Smáralind competes with other shopping centers of the Capital Region: Kringlan mall and Reykjavík's old city centre.

Norðurturninn (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈnɔrðʏrˌtʰʏ(r)tnɪn], "the north tower"), is an office and retail building in Iceland completed in 2016. Norðurturninn is located in downtown Kópavogur, next to Smáratorg Tower and is connected to the shopping mall, Smáralind. Norðurturninn has 15 floors with a height of 62 metres (205 ft) at its completion. However, original proposals were for the building to have a height of 110 metres with 28 floors. Construction of the tower began in 2007 but was on hold due to the 2008–2011 Icelandic financial crisis, until the resumption of construction on the 1 April 2015.It was completed in 2016 and as of 2022, houses Íslandsbanki (headquarters), Controlant and other companies. The ground floor houses an Íslandsbanki bank branch as well as other smaller retail units.

Smáratorg 3 (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈsmauːraˌtʰɔrk]) is an office and retail building in Iceland. It is the tallest building in Iceland, surpassing Hallgrímskirkja in height, and is the fifth tallest architectural structure in the country after the Eiðar longwave transmitter, the masts of Naval Radio Transmitter Facility Grindavik and longwave radio mast Hellissandur. The building is located in Smárahverfi, Kópavogur, where the shopping mall Smáralind is also located. The building has 20 floors and is 77.6 metres (255 ft) tall. The main constructor for the building was Jáverk. The tower was designed by Arkís architects. The global accounting and consulting firm Deloitte is located in the tower. The building opened on 11 February 2008.

Verzlunarskóli Íslands, usually referred to as Verzló (official name in English: Commercial College of Iceland) is an Icelandic gymnasium. It was founded in 1905 and is the oldest private school in Iceland. The school is located in Reykjavík and has more than 900 students. The gymnasium serves the whole of Iceland and has a student population of just below one thousand. It is organized on the basis of a form system, all students in the same form having the same timetable. Students are in school full-time from 8:15 – 15:40, Monday - Friday. The school year consists of two semesters, fall and spring. Each semester students take a full-time load of courses worth five or six credits each. Over three years, they take a total of 140+ credits and matriculate with an Icelandic stúdentspróf which is the standard prerequisite for university admission in Iceland. This qualification is also accepted for admission to universities around the world. In their first year all students follow a common curriculum. They then opt to specialise in one of four streams: business, science, social science and languages or arts. However, in all streams during the first two years there is a strong focus on practical business courses like accounting, economics and computer studies. These courses qualify students for the Commercial Diploma (‘Verzlunarpróf') at the end of their second year. In terms of the students' age and academic standard, the Commercial Diploma corresponds roughly to A-levels in the United Kingdom and the High School Diploma in the United States. During the remaining two years of their three-year programme, students complete their stúdentspróf. These two years could be considered comparable to two years of study at an academic college, for example equivalent to two years of university- level foundation courses in an American junior college.

Kórinn (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈkʰouːrɪn]) is an indoor multipurpose auditorium located in Kópavogur and built in 2007. It includes an indoor football stadium which meets all the international standards set by the International Football Association FIFA. The auditorium covers an area of 14,457 m2 and has a seating capacity of 2000 spectators plus an additional 50 honor places. The auditorium is designed to accommodate concert acoustics and has a total standing capacity of up to 19,000 visitors. Canadian recording artist, singer-songwriter Justin Bieber performed 2 sold-out shows at the arena on September 8 and 9, 2016 as a part of his Purpose World Tour.

The Reykjavík City Theatre (RCT) (Icelandic: Borgarleikhúsið [ˈpɔrkarˌleiːkˌhuːsɪθ]) is a theatre in Reykjavík, Iceland.

The Reykjavík Theatre Company (RTC) was founded in 1897 when two existing companies in Reykjavík combined, performing in the then newly built Iðnó (Craftsmens' House). With Indriði Einarsson (1851-1939) as its Director, RTC became the fertile ground in which Iceland's professional theatre developed. Einarsson's dedication to professional theatre champion Sigurður Guðmundsson's (1833-1874) vision of a permanent National Theatre was key in the evolution of Iceland's professional theatre.

Kópavogskirkja (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈkʰouːpaˌvɔksˌcʰɪr̥ca]) is a church in Kópavogur, Iceland. It is located on Borgarholt hill at the top of Kársnes and offers a great view over Kópavogur, Reykjavík and surrounding area.Work on it began in 1958 and it was opened on December 16, 1963. The architectural style of Kópavogskirkja is modernist. Its architecture is unusual, it is the cross section of two wide arches. A curved arch protrudes in each direction with smaller arches extending below. Its profile is prominent in the Kópavogur town seal. Architect Hörður Bjarnason together with Ragnar Emilsson designed this church. The church attracts the attention of both Icelanders and foreign tourists. The altarpiece in the church was set up in 1990 and is by artist Steinunni Þórarinsdóttir. Artist Barbara Árnason (1911–1975) designed various pictures that are in the church. Sculptor Gerður Helgadóttir (1928–1975) designed a sculptor.

Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO; Icelandic: Veðurstofa Íslands) is Iceland's national weather service and as such a government agency under the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. It is also active in volcano monitoring, esp. volcano seismology, and, together with other institutions, responsible for civil protection in Iceland
