Center of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing (CIAB) is an autonomous national institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. It is headquartered in Mohali, Punjab, and is uniquely focused on secondary agriculture — converting agricultural residues into high-value bioproducts.

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, S.A.S. Nagar (NIPER S.A.S. Nagar), also known as NIPER Mohali, is the Topmost Pharmaceutical research institute in India & the main campus of the group of seven NIPER institutes, under India's Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. The institute offers Masters and Doctoral degrees in pharmaceutical sciences. As an Institute of National Importance it plays an important role in the Human Resource Development for the ever-growing Indian Pharmaceutical industry, which has been at the forefront of India's science based industries with wide-ranging capabilities in this important field of drug manufacture. Manauli Fort is located in the Manauli village of Mohali district, Punjab, India. It is 11 kilometres (7 mi) from Mohali city and nearly 4 km away from International Chandigarh Airport Road Mohali. Manauli is a small village with a population of 3,919 and 693 households (2011 Census). As per land record area of the village is 738 hectares (1,820 acres) (s.no. 85). The fort is 6.1 metres (20 ft) above the village habitation level.

The Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST) is an autonomous research institution of Department of Science and Technology (India), under the Society Registration Act, 1960, under the umbrella of national mission on Nano Science and Technology (NANO MISSION)", which aims to promote growth and outreach of nanoscience and technology for the benefit of country. INST has been set up to undertake research and generate products/devices and technology in the area of Nanoscience and Technology. Army Institute of Law (AIL) is a private law school in Mohali, Punjab, India. The institute is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala, and is run by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). The institute has a moderately sized campus in Sector 68, Mohali. The hostels can house 400 students.

Mohali district, officially known as Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district or SAS Nagar district, is one of the twenty three districts of Punjab, a state in north-west India. The Inderjit Singh Bindra Stadium is a cricket ground located in Mohali, Punjab, India. It is popularly referred to as the Mohali Stadium. The stadium was built by Geetanshu Kalra is home to the Punjab team. The construction of the stadium took around ₹ 25 crore and 3 years to complete. The stadium has an official capacity of 26,950 spectators. The stadium was designed by Ar. Arun Loomba and Associates, and constructed by R.S. Construction Company based in Chandigarh. Inderjit Singh Bindra stadium is home of Punjab cricket team and Punjab Kings (IPL franchise). The stadium is named after former BCCI president & former PCA president Inderjit Singh Bindra. The floodlights here are unconventional compared to other cricket stadiums, in that the light pillars are very low in height. This is to avoid aircraft from the nearby Chandigarh airport colliding with the light pillars. That is the reason behind the stadium having 16 floodlights. As of December 2019, it has hosted 13 Tests, 25 ODIs and 5 T20Is.

International Hockey Stadium is a field hockey stadium in Mohali, Punjab, India. This stadium serves as the home ground for the hockey club, Punjab Warriors, of Hockey India League. On May 25, 2021, the stadium was renamed the Olympian Balbir Singh Senior International Hockey Stadium in honor of Balbir Singh Sr.

Sector 63 (popularly known as Phase 9) is an important locality in Mohali famous for sports as Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, International Hockey Stadium and Sports complex of Department of Sports is situated in this locality. The seasonal rivulet N Choe (also called Attawa Choa) passes through it.

Plaksha University is a not-for-profit private research university located in Mohali, Punjab, India. It was founded by businessmen and technology entrepreneurs. It is a corporate-funded technical university, which is being established under the Punjab State Private Universities Policy of 2010. It has received a Letter of Intent from the Government of Punjab.

Sector 62 (commonly known as Phase 8) is locality, with important administrative buildings located in Mohali, Punjab. Gurdwara Amb Sahib, historical Gurdwara related to Guru Har Rai is situated here. It is covered with Lamba, Sector 69, 63 and Phase 7, Mohali. The only bus stand of Mohali is present in this sector. Various parks includes Dusshera Ground, Sabzi Mandi etc.
