Its seat is the village of Borów, which lies approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) north-west of Strzelin, and 28 kilometres (17 mi) south of the regional capital Wrocław. It is part of the Wrocław metropolitan area. The gmina covers an area of 98.66 square kilometres (38.1 sq mi), and as of 2023 its total population is 5,281.
