Short Mountain (Connecticut)

The Luman Andrews House is a historic house at 469 Andrews Street in Southington, Connecticut. Built in 1745, it is one of the oldest houses in Southington. Its property was also the site of the early manufacture of hydraulic cement. The 1.8-acre (0.73 ha) property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Ragged Mountain, est. 761 feet (232 m), is a traprock mountain ridge located 3 miles (5 km) west of New Britain, Connecticut, in the towns of Southington and Berlin, Connecticut. It is part of the narrow, linear Metacomet Ridge that extends from Long Island Sound near New Haven, Connecticut, north through the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts to the Vermont border. The mountain, a popular hiking and rock climbing attraction located between metropolitan Hartford and Meriden, is known for expansive vistas, vertical cliff faces, mountain ridge reservoirs, unique microclimate ecosystems, and rare plant communities. Ragged Mountain is traversed by the 51-mile (82 km) Metacomet Trail.

The Ezekiel Woodruff House is a historic house at 1152 East Street in Southington, Connecticut., Built in the mid-to-late 18th-century, it is a well-preserved example of a Georgian Cape style house. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Urbana Woodruff House is a historic house at 1096 East Street in Southington, Connecticut. Built about 1784, it is a well-preserved example of vernacular Georgian architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Roswell Moore II House is a historic house at 1166 Andrews Street in Southington, Connecticut. Built around 1787, it is one of a small number of surviving 18th-century houses in the town, and is a well-preserved example of Georgian architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Capt. Samuel Woodruff House is a historic house at 23 Old State Road in Southington, Connecticut. Built about 1840, it is a well-preserved and somewhat rare example of a square Greek Revival farmhouse. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Woodruff House is a historic house at 377 Berlin Street in Southington, Connecticut. Built about 1780, it is a well-preserved example of an 18th-century Cape with later Greek Revival styling. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Cathole Mountain, 515 feet (157 m), is the lowest peak in the trap rock Hanging Hills of Meriden, Connecticut. The rugged southern ledges of the mountain rise steeply 150 feet (46 m) above the city of Meriden. The mountain is separated from South Mountain by the narrow, rocky Cathole Pass through which Connecticut Route 71 ascends. The mountain consists of two prominences, the southern ledges 341 feet (104 m) and the main peak one mile to the north. The 51 mile Metacomet Trail crosses Cathole Mountain and offers views of Cathole Pass. The cliffs continue south with views over Meriden, but there is no official trail that runs the length of them. Activities enjoyed on the peak include hiking, rock climbing, and in the winter, snowshoeing. Much of the northern half of the mountain is privately owned.

Southington High School (previously Lewis Academy and Lewis High School) is a public high school located at 720 Pleasant Street in Southington, Connecticut. It is the only high school in Southington.

Hubbard Park, located in the Hanging Hills of Connecticut, is a wooded, mountainous park located just outside the city center of Meriden, Connecticut. It comprises approximately 1,800 acres (7.3 km2) of carefully kept woodlands, streams, dramatic cliff faces, flower gardens, and the James Barry bandshell and picnic spots, as well as its showpiece, Mirror Lake. The park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
